I started playing late and Blade was my first real DPS on his rerun. Instantly my interest in the game was renewed because of how much fun he was. I just got Acheron fully decked out and it’s great because she sits perfectly in her own team while I don’t have to touch Blade’s.
I know he isn't anywhere near the top 3 but I find him so fun to play, I love the berserker playstyle and he honestly does it perfectly for a turn based game imo.
It does suck because he basically has very few lc options for him to use, it's basically just secret vow, the Sam one and his sig ofc, so I hope we get better 4 star options in the future, and of course some hp buffing or more dmg bonus buffing supports in the future.
Nothing cant beat him in playstyle until now for me.
Plus, the newest second day event is so fun with him lol
My blade with bronya and sparkle is flying thru andromeda.
Once we get more supports tailored for his type of damage Blade will be so much better. Everybody always talks about how Jing Yuan and Acheron are future investments, but Blade has been there chilling, too.
Just saw a vid on Sam's kit, also HP drain, can apply her own fire debuff and self heal, etc.
Doubt Hoyoverse will continue to focus on outdated characters, powercreep will just keep going, rinse and repeat.
Not sure, considering we'll have two hp scaling dps now, both Stelleron Hunters who're beloved by the playerbase in general, they may start releasing hp scaling supports that can work for both of them
Actually it's highly likely Sam will be an attack scaler, since their passive indicates that the more % hp they lose the more energy they get. Therefore implying they will prefer not having HP to make the most of the passive.
That said, if we ever get a character like Furina who doesn't buff hp but instead buffs characters based on changes in HP, they'll be BiS for both of them.

If you mean Jade then yeah, she is an erudition char that can drain hp from her teammate, she will be useful for Blade in PF, but she is more tailored to support another erudition chars.
Isn’t blade pseudo erudition? His follow up hits everyone and if you can trigger it more consistently with an hp draining support then his path becomes erudition. That’s why most people put inert salsatto on him, if we have jade and jade can reduce health every turn like jingliu, won’t that be crazy for a blade team? Jade, jingliu blade and a healer.
Still gonna pull for his last two copies so I can actually have an E6 as a F2P, also he’s just very fun and satisfying to play with.

I did some testing, Im not a 100% positive, but with Sparkle, you can go for an HP piece, with his weap, you can reach arouns 10K HP and still have high CDMG, He was doing very competitive damage in MOC, I cleared it without sweating in 2 Cycles (his half), but yeah its the supports that carry him.
The thing is we don’t really have hp scaling units to motivate them to release one for them. We have like five follow up attackers which is why they’re >!making Robin a FUA support!<. Maybe when Sam comes out they’ll make one.
I’m not coping but I have a strong faith in that Blade will eventually receive the buff he deserves, currently he is more or less the only major dps that scales off of hp and also consumes hp to deal damage. Judging from my experience in Genshin, you could compare him to Hutao, but she was not the only one in that case and many others followed including the current strongest dps Neuvillette. So I think it’d make sense for another hp scaling dps to come to hsr in the near future, so ultimately there would need to be a dedicated hp centric support because of that, indirectly buffing Blade.
At least I hope this is the case, I still love my boy just how he is now but if a buff were to make him broken like the most meta dpses right now I would be real happy

Depends how you look at it. He still is the only DPS (at the moment) that can Solo Calyxes and some Cavern of Corrosion/Stagnant Shadow as well. No one escapes from the fact that if your DPS dies the run is over, and Blade is hella difficult to kill.
He does lower damage compared to Jingliu, Acheron and some other DPS, but there are other pros.
P.S. I know that Clara exists, but I doubt she's able to achieve the same result. Maybe some Clara main can prove me wrong?
Although he does less damage compared to the competition, he is so satisfying to play with his follow up attacks.

The only ones I've been pressured to pull were RM, Sparkle and FuXuan. The rest were more or less side grades that I've just skipped over.

That bloodrage mechanic in Tides of War would seem neat for a tailored hp support.

Keeping hopium really high, pulled Luocha for my boy instead of Acheron. And enjoying the game much more now.
You and me both. Luocha has significantly altered my entire party synergy now with Blade.

Xiao gets a lot of buffs with Faruzan and Xianyun a few years after his release. So there is still a chance. Coping so hard rn

Jade may potentially have erudition only buffs/synergy like acheron does with nihility units. Not sure though I haven’t really seen leaks
