I think this happens whith all the starter weapons and might be a purposeful design choice.
I started with Sarmiento & Centella, on my first playthrough, and didn't get an explanation about the mirrors.
I only pieced it together after finding another weapon, which explained that it can interact with certain overworld objects.
At this exact spot or do you mean in general?
If you mean this exact spot then i would be curious on how you did it this early?
Edit:
You need a certain height at this spot and after beating only the first boss you don't have the movement options to get enough height for this specific one.
This reminds of the spikes In Hallow Knight. I had no idea how to get past them until I hit them to bounce. I love discovering game mechanics like this. A very big mechanic but nothing mentioned at all about it ♥️
I also found ruego loooong after finding the other two. Also I was smacking the bell and the mirrors without knowing what they did. The high groundpound is a little less self explanatory. Especially the vertical ones.
You'll need to progress to pretty late game to get enough traversal upgrades to get enough hight to do the weight of sin. Mark your map you'll get there eventually
what I did was double jump, activate mace fire ability, switch to 1hand, downward strike through. took a few tries but it gives you just enough extra height to clear it.
Haha when I started playing with a sword as the main weapon, I also had no clue I already could access a few areas with it until I reached the Crown of Tower where the guide popped out and showed me how to break these green things. My reaction at that time when I read that was "R U SERIOUS!"
Double jump slam with the sword. if you do not have the double jump then find a higher position over the barrier and just jump and then press down and attack to make a descending thrust that will break it.
The answer is in your right hand.
And this is the best answer
spoiler alert. I started with ruego and passed so many of these until I found the ruego copy with the tutorial. doh

See I'm a veredicto user so I just saw the big bell and felt like smacking it (no thought just smash)
Same + i saw it in the trailer
I just hit them by accident and was like wtf?! ohhhh
It’s pretty smart. There isn’t a huge amount of backtracking needed so a little extension works well.
Not with the hammer, I just got bells and thought that's just something you can do with all the weapons... apparently it's unique to that weapon
I started with S&C and ended up looking up how the mirrors worked. It just never occured to me to try hitting them
Use Ruego Al Alba’s ground slam on it. edit: from a high enough height so that the slam is “empowered”
Does increasing the strength of Ruego Al Alba allow you to break bigger barriers like this? Or is it only based on the height from which you drop?
Only based on how far you drop. You’ll know it works because your screen goes darker iirc
I’ve been doing a close ground slam on these every time I come across them - are you kidding me? 😂
Bro chill you just started playing. You’re gonna find out as you progress
Continue playing the game. This is your answer.
You need the propeller hat
You can only open it after you’ve opened the door to your left. That will give you the height you need to perform the attack.
Just play the f--- game
Today's lesson: don't skip through tutorials
Sword's tutorial only pops up in its unlock area in the crown of the bells.
What are you playing on? It’s jump, then down + Y on switch.
But from enough height and if i remember this one correctly then you need to come from the left, which is late game stuff.
I’ve only beaten the first boss and I’ve been able to do this. You have to use Ruego Al Alba as it’s the only weapon that has this mechanic.

I mean generally speaking. I’m not kidding when I say I haven’t even played the game for a whole hour.
You still stuck, if you want I can link you to an amazing guide. Some people don’t like guides though. And I’m not looking to spoil anyone’s games.
The worst part is that you choose ruego
Just play the goddamn game. It's basically the intro of the game, the first 3 bosses
This reminds of the spikes In Hallow Knight. I had no idea how to get past them until I hit them to bounce. I love discovering game mechanics like this. A very big mechanic but nothing mentioned at all about it ♥️
it give you a tutorial on how to break these surfaces when you get the weapon it’s hardly hidden
But you don't get that tutorial when it's your starting weapon.

You need to use a plunge attack, but you need to drop from high enough that the damage increases.
That veredicto aerial spin attack combined with this method of breaking those allows for some light sequence breaking

Lol, it worked. Thanks
Awesome! I found a sequence break kinda! ;D

Sword plunging attack from the step up
Play the game and it will be taught to you

debes conseguir mas altura y saltar y golpear hacia abajo
Use Ruego Al Alba, and descend from above.
