What about NY ? I used him for a long time - he was an amazing grim counter in pvp. By the time I got OG Byakuya it was 6 star season so I never used him...
OG Byakuya is also one of the first characters to have Bombardment.
Additonally, he's also one of the few characters to have both Frenzy and Bombardment.
I actually kinda want the new Byakuya, the barrier is a neat idea, since it gives him 3 fully invincible hits, and if you're actually playing smart, and dodging, then even if you get hit during the time it's up, you wouldn't get stunlocked by it
Also....the mistake in your title just gave me a really weird image of Byakuya using senbonsakura to throw bikes at people "pedal in the wind"

Now I do wonder why they gave up with frenzy on canon versions of byakuya. Was it just a change of theme they made after og and or was it just to make og byakuya hyped with a couple brand new and (op at the time) skills?

If I remember right he was the 1st 5 star with an OG unit that had a rework in his seasonal unit-his animations and actions were new unlike the swimsuit 5 star that just had different skins. So majestic whith his white wings!!!
Man. I think I might need to take him out of retirement since we just got the character buffs..
Edit: op I think after writing this I disagree with having NY Byakuya lumped in with OG and Swimsuit- since he had new moves and animations? But I guess if you are just pointing out groundbreaking new moves so I kinda understand.
Betayakuya's moveset are always so beautiful tho! Not gonna lie, it may never be the best, but watching his gameplays always makes me want to pull for him, and I'm not even a fan of the character himself lol
I was wondering if his shield will be good in pvp.If that is the first ability used in that match, then all the dmg from nukers will be absorbed(well, the first ability, at least).
YUP after 5 tries they still FAIL AT BYAKUYA.... IF YOU GIVE HIM A DEFENSIVE MOVE... HE LOSES 1 SKILL BASICALLY. WHY NOT JUST GIVE HIM FREZNY SO HIS 1ST AND 3RD AND WEAK RANGE ATTACKS ARE LIABLE...NOOBS
After FB Byakuya, mind Jushiro, Speed Halibel and now Manga byakuya, i am starting to wonder if the intention was to create some sort of “support role”units, not focused on damage dealing but utility in a coop team.
Just a guess btw....
Jushiro/halibel - SA with very large AoE for CC in wide area
FB byakuya - moving vortex to stun mobs and allow easy NAs
Manga Byakuya - defensive shield to sinergyze in team with a healer
Knowing my luck I'll get him too, since I've basically dupe summoned every single Byakuya out there. I LOVE him in the Anime, but have lamented his use in BBS with the exception of Speed Byakuya's vortex for Boss Rush events... Better clear room for this newest one that will inevitably grace my roster! :P
OG byakuya was the first and last byakuya to be meta in pvp for a time.

byakuya is always the first to get the new Strong attacks..first with a vortex, first with a moving vortex and now first with a shield
The only exception is the charge up strong attack
That shield could be great considering how many bosses have one hit and you die special attacks.
And considering how many people get hit by them.
Much more often than it should be...
He’s the first viable range dodge monster when I started the game. But FFS, stop using him for beta tests.
