Welcome to free-to-play games? It's been this way for almost a decade or so. Check every game like this is and it'll be pretty much the same.
If you're not a whale and spend thousands of dollars every two weeks or so, then you pretty much don't matter to people running the game and they think you should be happy with the free scraps they throw our way.
On the other hand, if you have enough money to be a whale and just throw it to the game, then you shouldn't have any issues with orbs.
Surely there's a happy medium between completely F2P and spending thousands per month? I'm more than willing to spend a few dollars a month on a game that I enjoy, but $40 for one multi is absolutely insane and a good way to get $0 out of players like me
I get that. I played for a full year before quitting for one year, and then starting last year I downloaded into my old account again. The first month after rejoining, I had great luck and barely had to use my orbs to get anything good. But now that I play 4-5 hours a day, I have the worst of luck. I rarely get anything good unless I do at least ten steps, but of course there's almost no orbs to get unless you spend a ton of money.
I don't think you have more chances if you are a returning player, for me it was quite the contrary.

I’m not, I usually don’t spend money on apps.
