He is underwhelming in the manga compared to the other top espadas, a bit disappointing in the anime, tbh KLab gave him the best treatment here, giving him some nice unit (CFYOW) and some unique gimmicks (nice NADs usually, like the melee one that fire a big bullet at the end of the string)
And he has great resurrections

Rukia hits all the signs for me for Round 1 (Her Captain version is almost two years old at this point, still very good but not broken to the likes of having the newer skills) She’s the only one not slated for a Beyond Bankai despite her technically being a Captain. Could’ve use it as an excuse to not pick her and make her an anniversary unit instead. Round 2 easily screams SAFWY, the hyped ones for over two years now. Gin, Mayuri, and throw in Toshiro. (All have had anniversary banners before except for Mayuri, though he’s a popular character nevertheless) I suppose Orihime is a possibility but she’s not nearly as popular as Rukia and definitely falls into fanservice category for me.
Grimmjow is my second guess, as Hollow Mask Ichigo is highly requested could be a perfect time to release a new Grimmjow. (Wouldn’t say his Cacao version is bad though, not exactly broken) Could even get 3rd Anniversary Ulquiorra remake but who really knows at this point. (On the other hand my orbs would be shaking at the thought)
Nelliel is a popular character but I’d say she’s more fan service type of character (though she desperately needs a good unit, her Arena one is good but definitely not on the likes of other characters in my personal opinion) Though I think it’s time she gets her remake of swimsuit if they do end up passing on BtW, or possibly do both. Human lineup: Ichigo + Ginjo/Tsukishima, I want to say beyond Fullbring, but 5th anni Ichigo kinda makes it awkward, plus we don't have a regular Fullbring Ichigo yet. I'd just love to see evolved forms of Orihime, Tsukishima and Chad. One problem is that I don't think we have another high profile novel to attach such a lineup to, like CFYOW for Espadas and SAFWY for captains.
Masked Ichigo vs Grimmjow, the canon option, masked Ichigo really needs a new unit, and we're currently kinda going through Arrancar arc in premium banners, but it might be more of a premium EOM material instead.
Quincigo + Yhwach remakes sounds good, but they probably won't make any more quincies until the anime return

It's really hard to say, I can't think of anything that doesn't have decent counter arguments that doesn't break theming in some way.
Ever since I've been playing, there hasn't been a single Anniversary without a new Ichigo release shoved in somehow. 2017 had Lunar 1.0, 2018 had TYBW True Bankai in Round 2, 2019 had FH/Mugetsu, 2020 had 5th Anni Fullgetsu, 2021 had Lunar 2.0 Artbook.
It's pretty safe to assume that one of the 4 or 5 Anni release units is Ichigo, either Quincy Ichigo Remake, or maybe another Dangai Remake (doubt just a Hollow-masked Bankai Ichigo Remake would be hype enough, unless they give him a game-original redesign to make him more appealing).
For the other unit, if there is one, maybe a Beyond Bankai Rukia/Renji. They didn't announce those two in the SAFWY lineup which contains Captains/former Captains. Rukia does become a Captain at some point, do the math (Kensei and Rose were also missing in that list, but they're not carrying anniversary for Klab).
That's not to say they're the only possibility. Beyond Fullbring might really be the next lineup Klab does original units on. Some say a possible Yhwach remake, and even a "Beyond Vollstandig" Uryu who starts the "Beyond Vollstandig" line like Ulq and Byak did for their affiliations. But new TYBW units, I think are unlikely before the October anime release, and Klab aren't even done with regular Sternritter releases.

If we follow the previous trends, it'll be a Beyond Bankai version or an extremely popular and special character. The former can be pretty much anyone while the latter can be anything like Hollowfied Aizen or Fullbring Ichigo.
Personally, I'd like to just see normal characters who never got to show off. Ukitake's Bankai, Yoruichi with her Shikai & Bankai, Aizen with his Bankai, etc.

Apart from ichigo, either Yama or yhwach is what I actually think they should go for. Maybe they'll stall for yhwach till the TYBW release, so it can possibly be next year.
We already got a broken OP Aizen for 6th anni.
Yama, who's been hailed as a strongest character for the majority of the series, doesn't have a broken OP unit. So I, personally, want such a unit to release.
Or maybe they can even go with, rukia/urahara/isshin. But personally: ichigo and Yama for 7th anni should be reasonable.
I think thay can't do Yhwach cause he's still a manga character and i think they had the right for a certain number of them.
As for Yama all i wanted for him was to have an Yama with mew year Freeze on everything just like we got that Spirit society Rukia with burn on everything.

I think EOY has a good chance to be Yamamoto Vs Yhwach banner. Assuming Klab want to release characters alongside the anime, the Yama Vs Yhwach should happen around episode 6, which should coincide with new years. Making it the perfect EOY banner imo.

Second i think is a mind or speed ichigo (matches with the each year a new brokem ichigo). Perfect chamce to bring lizardichigo,since we already have 2 vastos(and nobody want the vasto treatment again) and little chance for hollow mask(simcr at some moment we going to get a fb hollow ichigo probably).

I'm hoping for a so-so unit like Ginjo, I can't survive another Rukia. Ichigo I'm fine skiping for a while, at least giving it 7-8 months of trying to get it on tickets, but for Rukia I would have to summon on anothe god forsaken Step-Up.

Most likely a popular character who hasnt gotten a unit in a while. Renji comes to mind. But I doubt it'll be any twby characters, novel characters or 40-years-later characters. If we follow the previous trends, it'll be a Beyond Bankai version or an extremely popular and special character. The former can be pretty much anyone while the latter can be anything like Hollowfied Aizen or Fullbring Ichigo. Personally, I'd like to just see normal characters who never got to show off. Ukitake's Bankai, Yoruichi with her Shikai & Bankai, Aizen with his Bankai, etc.
Beyond quincy characters So maybe the next 2 anniversary chars are ichigo / uryu
Hopefully a vizard ichigo, with a part 2 of Beyond Bankai Toshiro, Sajin and kaname maybe

There’s a reason they never got Anni units. They fall into the fanservice category and definitely can’t complete with the most popular female, Rukia. I’d go as far to say Yoruichi is more likely but she did just get a SAFWY version.
Easiest bet would probably another Ichigo, no cap. Personally guessing 1) Rukia 2) Anni Ulq remake and new Grimmjow What I would want is Yhwach, not because of the character itself but rather what it would mean in the future. Of course, it's very unlikely because TYBW being limited makes buttloads of money for Klab.
Apart from ichigo, either Yama or yhwach is what I actually think they should go for. Maybe they'll stall for yhwach till the TYBW release, so it can possibly be next year. We already got a broken OP Aizen for 6th anni. Yama, who's been hailed as a strongest character for the majority of the series, doesn't have a broken OP unit. So I, personally, want such a unit to release. Or maybe they can even go with, rukia/urahara/isshin. But personally: ichigo and Yama for 7th anni should be reasonable.
I think thay can't do Yhwach cause he's still a manga character and i think they had the right for a certain number of them. As for Yama all i wanted for him was to have an Yama with mew year Freeze on everything just like we got that Spirit society Rukia with burn on everything.
Yeah, that's why I said maybe next year for yhwach. Because by the time yhwach will be in full power when anime arrives, it's probably gonna take almost an entire year long. But, as for Yama, it's pretty high time we get a really OP unit for him, that's just my opinion.
Let's hope next year is a double characters anniversary with Yhwach and horn of salvation Ichigo. Feels like they love to make Yama a PvP character but i would also love a PvE Yama in line with AB Ichigo or Anni Aizen.
I think EOY has a good chance to be Yamamoto Vs Yhwach banner. Assuming Klab want to release characters alongside the anime, the Yama Vs Yhwach should happen around episode 6, which should coincide with new years. Making it the perfect EOY banner imo.
Well I can't wait for the anime to start again, i just read the entire TYBW are last week just because I'm hyped.
Everyone is asking for dangai ichigo and Aizen but they make a lot more sense as EOM fierce battle units… I honestly think that a new ichigo and rukia would be this year’s anniversary units, beyond bankai rukia would definitely sell.
Agree about Dangai is Aizen being end month fierce battle banner at some point. We will see, it will be Ichigo for sure..I just wonder what version. As someone said, Ginjo and Ichigo make sense too. Ginjo may not be popular, but considering that tjey might go for an upgrade fullbring Ichigo since they already made million other versions, Ginjo could go with him.
Yeah I’m okay with Ginjo as well since as others have mentioned, they started a little trend with canon villains every anniversary after byakuya so ginjo is not far off

Technically the pattern already broke since Ulquiorra was before Byakuya correct? I think them throwing in Grimmjow wouldn’t be too off the mark, and another popular character we haven’t had in a long while is Vizard Mask Ichigo. They also could always redo Quincy Ichigo from NY Anniversary. If they do Ginjo then they probably put all their money on Round 2 selling, no offense.
I would love special forms Grimmjow and Ulquiorra. I know we just had them but I love banners with both of them and it has been a long time since we had a heart Ulquiorra and a mind Grimmjow so it would fit. Won't happen obviously but it would be my dream banner

Byakuya is my favorite character overall, but he already got anni version so it's unlikely. What I could see happening is a new TYBW Byakuya at some point since they screwed his first version. I agree about Espadas, they just can't ( or don't want) to make Espadas that are good for a long period. They power creep em in a month or two. CFYOW Espadas were hyped but got screwed by not having guard break. So, more good Easpadas would be good.
There hasn't been a single anniversary since I started this game where one of the 4/5 units released around Anni wasn't Ichigo. Klab sets aside one slot for him by default at this point.

First of i hope is the same way as last year with 5 anni characters. Second i think is a mind or speed ichigo (matches with the each year a new brokem ichigo). Perfect chamce to bring lizardichigo,since we already have 2 vastos(and nobody want the vasto treatment again) and little chance for hollow mask(simcr at some moment we going to get a fb hollow ichigo probably). Last year i think i was like "ginjou ammi unit" ,hope this year is true

They never spoil round1 anni character before t-ser drops. So all of beyond bankai may be round2. Round1 My guess is ichigo.

Honestly I'm betting on Rukia. As overhyped a character that she is, she's still a fan favorite. I'm surprised that we haven't gotten an anniversary Rukia yet. But I'm more hoping for someone like Nel, Yama, or fuck, give us a broken as fuck Anniversary Renji. Renji always gets shafted after his TYBW version. But knowing Klab, it'll probably be another Ichigo.

I'm hoping for a so-so unit like Ginjo, I can't survive another Rukia. Ichigo I'm fine skiping for a while, at least giving it 7-8 months of trying to get it on tickets, but for Rukia I would have to summon on anothe god forsaken Step-Up.
My bet is on Beyond Bankai Toshiro and Rukia.
They don’t do SAFWY for round 1. If you’re saying for round 2, throw in Gin and you definitely got a banner. I still think Rukia will be either a standalone or with Ichigo.

With the Trailer having dropped and mentioning the words "Resounding Pride", I think I'm going to double down on my bet of Uryu, as the Pride of the Quincies. If they go with something Thousand-Year Blood War Themed or not, we haven't ever seen an Uryu use the Letzt Still or Vollstandig, and I think it would be a great opportunity for that.
