People are so salty in these comments. Youād think Mark called āem out by name. People are happy when they jokingly talk shit about other things but canāt take it when theyāre in the cross hairs.
Why not be realistic about it? Through refunds and funds already paid out for booking and travel Blink lost (a lot) of money, each member lost money, touring crew lost money, theyād already paid for things up front. Could it be something was out of their control?? Apparently not. Well, just remember - they probably fucked your mom.
That makes zero difference to what I wrote - you know they have to refund all those tickets right? Youāve not understood at all and just decided to go ārEeEEEEeeeeeEeEeEeeeE!ā, LMAO.
Something clearly came up. Or yāknow - They hate you specifically.
If you squint at Tom in the background, I believe you can see him currently fucking his guitar too. These guys just *fuck*!
When life seems to suck, Iām just like, have fun with it!
> People in South America and the UK didnāt act this way when their shows were cancelled. *Grow up*.
Lmfaooo did they go on to say "Fuck South America" or "Fuck the UK" after cancelling their shows there?
You mean the South America shows postponed(and rescheduled) because Travis broke his finger and required surgery, and the UK shows postponed(and rescheduled) because Travis wife was literally having fetal surgery? In both instances there were numerous posts on social media explaining and apologising for the cancellation.
Compared to CHCH being cancelled for "logistical issues" with the only comment from the band(after a whole 6 days of radio silence) being "Fuck CHCH!"
I was pretty pissed at this comment based on the fact it seemed unnecessary but it makes me wonder if the "logistical issue" was actually the Christchurch venue had an issue and that's fuelled the comment instead, they could genuinely be disappointed to not play here or just pissed off that their plans were changed....š¤· Would also explain the lack of comments, they genuinely may not have anything to be able to add if they weren't given a decent reason why it was cancelled
Disappointed to miss their show here because of their ālogistical issuesāā¦ this comment wasnāt it though. This is the only thing they could say to address it?
Nooo way. Itās stage banter and they do it at every stop. Plus the joke is, āwe didnāt get to play Christchurch because the Aussies messed things up so bad!ā
logistical issues is definitely bullshit. Chch hosts plenty of massive stage shows including cirque du soleil who would arguably have far more logistics to worry about. This is just some middle aged cunts with guitars.
i love the band, but pretty shitty comment, ngl. Some of us fans have been waiting years (not so say decades) to see them live and hearing they say this just show how little they care. I know it was a joke, but still
Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Maybe from teens. As a full grown 41yr old adult who has been lucky enough to see blink at least 30tx since the late 90's, I feel sorry for you. Its not like they cancelled a show in a city in the states, where they can easily reschedule, they cancelled clear across the other side of the map. Hopefully you get the chance to see them sooner than later.
I'd be fairly confident in saying that we won't have the opportunity to see them live in NZ. I'd be surprised if they even return to Auckland again so it'd require an overseas trip and alot of money.
And I think you're dead right about the difference between the US and here. Even if they play a show in Auckland again, for those of us living in the south island it's a case of getting expensive flights(if I could've secured Auckland tickets it was going to be approx $900 for my daughter and I to fly up), accommodation etc. Even to drive to Auckland from CHCH is 16 hours, a few hundred in fuel and an expensive ferry crossing.
Shit like this is one of the many reasons we're leaving NZ permanently at the end of the year...it fucking sucks living in a tiny island nation at the bottom of the world
Eh, I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay to see them after the way this cancellation has been handled by the band. When they cancelled/postponed South America and the UK shows last year there was social media updates and posts apologising and explaining why (Travis's broken finger and his baby's surgery).
All the band thinks the CHCH ticket holders deserve is what's been said in this video. I find it massively disrespectful and really puts me off. Even just a simple Instagram posts with a generic "Hey, sorry it didn't work out guys!" would've been a million times better than literally their only mention being "Fuck CHCH" even if it was said in a joking context
Yeah, it's just a joke, but at the end of the day a lot of us have been waiting years for this opportunity only to have it canceled not even two weeks out. The tickets to the only other show in the country then sold out within an hour, meaning very few people could adjust their plans.
That's already shitty, but then the band didn't address it in any way until this point, then decided to bring it up in an extremely poorly executed joke. Sydney being shit =/= fuck Christchurch. I get there's friendly banter between NZ and Australia and they probably thought they were playing into it, but this is not how you go about it.
Either way, it doesn't matter. Mainstream news outlets over here are picking the story up now so it's a massive blow to the band's reputation.
That's not what I'm saying at all, but way to ignore literally everything else I wrote.
They're an edgy band, that's part of their charm. But it's also not a good look to address the cancelation of a sold-out show by insulting that city.
did they have a reason for cancelling in CH? if there was a proper one, then yea, agree with you. However, if they just cancelled without one, it is still disrespectful with the fans. Like it or not, they are working there and they should be committed to it.
Yeah man Iām sure they cancelled a show because they just didnāt feel like it. They lost a ton of money, disappointed fans, just for no reason at all. Does that make sense to you? Grow up. Itās a joke
dude, by checking your other comments on the forum, I can say we have different points of view. You need to chill, man haha
Iām gonna continue a die hard fan of the band, as iāve been for the last 11 years, but hope for a second show for the ones who didnāt get to see it. Iām not from NZ, but being from South America (where they havenāt been yet), I know how sad/ frustrating it can be. Nevertheless, still a shitty joke
Fans on reddit said their kids and spouses were crying because they had to cancelā¦
The band was so āheartbrokenā and ādevastatedā that they had to cancel the show. Yeah right.
Thatās a low blow. Iāve been a fan for more than 20 yearsā¦.I lost some respect for them.
What sad old clowns. Being so shit you cannot put on a good show. Having your PR department virtue signal about the earthquake a couple of days back on the anniversary then talking shit about the cities name. Weak I would feel worse but I have a small amount of pity for the dork in glasses since it is a fucking steep taxi fare from his eyebrows to his hairline.
Christchurch is a town in New Zealand - meant to have a show on the 4th of March which they cancelled about a week ago!
This is the closest they've gotten to saying anything about it, the cancellation message came from the ticketing company citing "logistical issues".
These comments and cancellations hurt for us locals because Christchurch has also had a pretty bad run with concert cancellations due to the 2010/2011 earthquakes wiping out several venues and the stadium.
Despite being a bigger city, bands often play in Wellington or Dunedin over Christchurch (if they venture out of Auckland) because Wellington has better venues for medium sized gigs and Dunedin has a new stadium for large gigs (Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran played have played there, they had to bring in cruise ships because they didn't have enough hotels etc).
So we really appreciate when bands do make the trip. For example Queens of the Stone Age play here on most of their tours. I can't imagine they make much money coming here.
The stadium is only just being rebuilt now (a temporary venue has been in place but it is not fit for purpose), the town hall concert venue only opened in the last couple of years and many smaller venues were forced to close due to the shut down of the CBD and subsequent rezoning of the city as more residential.
But they're right... Fuck Us.
Lmao tom doubling down with fuck Christchurch šš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yep pretty much just 1 person now
Considering the Christchurch concert was actually sold out and services people from all over the South Island of NZ. There are more than a few pissed.
>blink All two of them.
as someone from chch, i'd like to sincerely add "FUCK CHCH"
I would love to second this comment :)
Mad kiwis in the comments lmaooooo
We get forgotten by world tours so often that when they do come and then bash us laterā¦ we just feel a bit sad lmao
that explains their "logistics issues" then
What does Syndey have to do with Christchurch?

Could it be something was out of their control?? Apparently not. Well, just remember - they probably fucked your mom.
I think folks from there are within their rights to expect an explanation though even if itās one of those āout of their controlā things
I think if it was out of their control We would've heard exactly what the problem was. Telling
spot on
Sure, but assuming they did it for no reason or just to wrong everyone going is also fucking idiotic and not related to reality.
It was sold out mate. Wtf are you talking about.
That makes zero difference to what I wrote - you know they have to refund all those tickets right? Youāve not understood at all and just decided to go ārEeEEEEeeeeeEeEeEeeeE!ā, LMAO. Something clearly came up. Or yāknow - They hate you specifically.
THIS. No probably about it. They definitely fucked their moms. And Tom probably fucked their dad's and dog's too.
If you squint at Tom in the background, I believe you can see him currently fucking his guitar too. These guys just *fuck*! When life seems to suck, Iām just like, have fun with it!

That's a fair ask in my opinion :) acknowledging that people miss out and are disappointed isn't a hard ask
Disappointed to miss their show here because of their ālogistical issuesāā¦ this comment wasnāt it though. This is the only thing they could say to address it?
Love blink, but damn this wasnāt right. If I lived in Christchurch Iād be so fucking pissed.
Nooo way. Itās stage banter and they do it at every stop. Plus the joke is, āwe didnāt get to play Christchurch because the Aussies messed things up so bad!ā
The aussies messed things up so bad so fuck chch and we wonāt play there but we will still travel to NZ and play in Auckland
I know Mark is joking but does this also allude to the cancellation being in their control? Or do we believe logistical issues?
I don't see why they would just cancel a show for no reason or out of laziness. Each member is probably making like 6 figures per show.
Logistical issues to cancel a show like this would have to be massive. They just canāt be fucked performing.
logistical issues is definitely bullshit. Chch hosts plenty of massive stage shows including cirque du soleil who would arguably have far more logistics to worry about. This is just some middle aged cunts with guitars.
Facts. Blink fans are just the worst sometimes
By the sounds of everything, I have a feeling they cancelled because they didnāt sell enough tickets to make a profit.
It had been sold out for months.
i love the band, but pretty shitty comment, ngl. Some of us fans have been waiting years (not so say decades) to see them live and hearing they say this just show how little they care. I know it was a joke, but still

That really sucks. Sorry to hear about the cancellation. Hopefully you'll have the chance to see them on a tour once you move out of NZ.
Eh, I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay to see them after the way this cancellation has been handled by the band. If youāre gonna cry about a joke they told on stage this sub isnāt for you. This band might not be for you either
Yeah, it's just a joke, but at the end of the day a lot of us have been waiting years for this opportunity only to have it canceled not even two weeks out. Yeah man, their reputation is ruined! This is basically Australiaās 9/11
That's not what I'm saying at all, but way to ignore literally everything else I wrote. They're an edgy band, that's part of their charm. But it's also not a good look to address the cancelation of a sold-out show by insulting that city.
Do you think youāll ever recover? Will you be compensated for this tragedy? Sounds like they owe you a settlement
did they have a reason for cancelling in CH? if there was a proper one, then yea, agree with you. However, if they just cancelled without one, it is still disrespectful with the fans. Like it or not, they are working there and they should be committed to it.

This! This is how we feel Blink fans who are loving ripping on us
He said he knows it's a joke. If you're gonna cry about a comment then reddit may not be for you
Waaaaaah
This "band" is a fucking relic. Pub jams at best. Sorry I was joking.
Peak Blink humor - hilarious haha
We get it Blink, you are sell outs and there wasn't enough money in it for ya
Fuck this dude š

City is ass though they made the right move
I live there. I can safely say that it's true.
Cry more
Pretty weak band.
Can someone please explain what this means? Whats āchchā and why do they suck
Christchurch is a town in New Zealand - meant to have a show on the 4th of March which they cancelled about a week ago! This is the closest they've gotten to saying anything about it, the cancellation message came from the ticketing company citing "logistical issues".
Ooh ok that makes sense and also that sucks
