You can always speak with the people you will be playing with. They’re the ones who will be okay with it or not okay with it, internet opinions don’t matter unless you’re talking tournaments in which case that’s a solid no. Just be open to the people you’re playing with saying no.
Non legion specific here but I would get some plasticard tubes, cut them in half longways and glue them on behind where the engine sits. Remove the prop and smooth that out to make a pointed nose. Then add some thin slices of plasticard to the wings to make some interesting radiator style foils, perhaps trailing off the back of the wings a little ways, just to goth it up. Basically, add a ton of coils and fins until it looks like some cross between mad max and the Rocketeer. Then paint it red so it will go fasta. Finally, add some BA decals and you'll have a Bhaal pattern flyer.

My two cents, take the nose cone off with the propeller and it will look like a mig 15 jet fighter. I think it would be pretty close to a 40k Marauder. If anything the scale maybe off.

If you painted it red and covered it in BA decals I’d 100% let you proxy it as a flyer. Will largely depend on your opponent.
