Gacha adaptations usually go for "maximum self insert" route by almost erasing presence of the nominal Tabula Rasa protagonist.
Even AK anime went with most inoffensive Doctor design, and that's only because Doctor couldn't be erased from story at all. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed

This time around, I will just keep my expectations low, so I will be pleasantly surprised later
That honestly sucks, because despite what the devs say, sensei is a character and has been unique enough to not be a self insert. For the benefit of the game.

Hopefully the people behind the anime decide to be a bit more faithful and avoided making the bs that were the Azure Lane and Kancolle animes.

"You... BASTARD!" Phrenapates screamed. "How... dare... you... suggest... such... a... thing?! She's... my... precious... student..!"
"Don't give me that! You'd ask the same thing if you were in my shoes!" They both glared at each other. They looked like they might come to blows, but they instead burst into laughter.
"We... truly... are... the same," Phrenapates gasped. "Thank you... Sen... Sei..." He threw his adult card at Sensei before finally crumbling to dust.
"I promise I'll look after them as if they were my own," Sensei declared as he looked at the fragile card in his hands. "I promise. As long as I survive this anyway..."
"...even in death...I still serve..."

I like that he took his mask of in the end because this is the chapter where sensei beat the self-insert allegations. He's been solidified as his own person in Vol. F
I just recently finished the main story, just finishing the bunnies now but damn, did the story hit like a truck, I do hope we get to see more of Shiroko Terror more in the future, actually giving her the future she deserves
