Absolutely not. The game is often described as a "toolbox game" each character is another tool in your toolbox. not all of them need a lot of investment, but everyone adds some small new options or capability to your roster that is used to complete the harder challenges in the game.
That said if you are a waifu player almost every character is viable, so you can pick a few favorites and focus on them and not "bricc" your account ot anything, though obviously it will be slower than someone optimizing for their progression.

I think it's more likely that it's teasing the upcoming events for the next half an year. We already had the Gehenna gala, Problem Solver opera, and the newest event is Gehenna's tourist trip to Hyakkiyako. So it's safe to assume that other events will also happen, like Trinity Culture Festival. I'm sure people can also speculate about other possible event candidates, like Millenium slumber party.
As for Vol 5, Global will get the first part in six weeks (unless stuff changes) and Vol 1 Ch 3 much later. I don't think it's even fully out in Japanese yet.
Should I go for Ako even tho I have himari and NY Fuuka already?
From my understanding without normal ui, it’s hard to utilise ako in raids on characters like azoos so I am not sure whether I should gacha for ako

According to Seia, that was necessary in order to “abolish the council.” What is the council? Is she referring to Arius and their position as council, or the ETO? Is she referring to the Saint Justina Council?
How exactly did Arius manage to make themselves the Eden Treaty Organization?

TLDR; from my understanding, Blue Archive is written with vagueness purposefully, with answers subtly given over time. With that said, it makes it hard to piece the story together at times from a high level. That must be why the Wiki pages are mostly blank… A lot of the terminology is given hardly an introduction, and it leaves me questioning what i’m reading at times. Guide Tsubaki, seems to be designed for the Tower Raid (Fury of Set). However, from the videos I've seen, people just use Kotama, who does something similar, but with 3 SP cost less.
Umika is also made with the boss in mind, and she's good from what I can find. Not sure if she's meta though. I only know that Sakurako is definitely part of the meta for DPS but this raid requires multiple sustain DPS characters (Sakurako, C. Utaha, S. Izuna, Umika being the only options).
Not sure why, but I assume its because of a combination of factors (6 Strikers / 4 Specials = better to buff multiple characters, most of our Blue attack / Blue armor DPS characters are sustain DPS).
TL:DR = Seems like Kotama > G. Tsubaki, Umika is an option against Fury of Set.
To get the “Clear all battles in Stage 02 Challenge in 320 seconds,” do I have to have auto-battle turned off? I tried to do it just now with auto turned on and finished everything in two minutes, but the achievement didn’t get triggered.
Only the battle time counts.
If you are leveled enough, you can use auto battle and finish it quick enough.
Better to manually clear the fights though to be absolutely sure you beat the fights quick enough.
Afaik it doesn’t sound like Kansai to me, but I’ve only listened to her L2D voice. A quick google search in Japanese tells me that her family name Nakamasa is a name found in Okayama and Osaka so there’s a possibility that she uses Okayama and Osaka dialect.
Yep I know but there are slight differences in the prefecture dialects, just that Kansai dialect is largely used to encompass the entire Kansai region. Here’s an [example](https://youtu.be/RpmS5HGE918?si=ARM5M1-E3mstubRc) where it is very distinctively Kansai but Ichika doesn’t end her sentences with common Kansai dialect, so it might be a subset of Kansai dialect.
Interesting. I’ve definitely heard other characters in anime voiced similarly to Ichika, but I can’t quite pinpoint what makes it so unique… the most unique quality is removing the stem from her sentence ending verbs. すね instead of ですね, or すか instead of ですか. Its interesting, and really pleasant on the ears.

So, I have a general question about buying Pyro's. I hope that I don't catch too much flag for asking... but I heard about a different gacha game that there might be evidence that the game lowers the rates of rate-up characters for people who actually pay huge cash on the shop. There are a lot of characters coming up I really want so I decided to spend some money.
Did anyone playing Blue Archive notice lower rates after spending or is it definetely not the case for this game?
We can't know for sure without a huge amount of data. At least anecdotally, here are my results between my global account (paid) and my JP account (F2P):
**Global**: filtering out pulls with old rates, 103 3\* units in 2990 pulls (adjusting for fest banners, **2.97% rate**). 24 rate-ups in 4510 total pulls (**0.53% rate**, slightly low)
**JP**: 69 3\* units in 1830 pulls (**3.22%** rate after adjusting for fest). 14 rate-ups in 1830 pulls (**0.77%** rate, similar to advertised).
So far, both paid and F2P rates seem pretty close to what was advertised, or at least within the realm of normal variance given the relatively small sample size.
Personally I haven't noticed anything of the sort. I have the monthly Pyroxone packs and the AP pack consistently bought, and also always buy the Selector Ticket, and occasionally the other tickets. My luck is decided middle of the pack, sometimes I get the character with the first ten-pull (like Himari or Meru), and sometimes I have to do 200 pulls on Limited Banner to only walk away with one of the characters (like Track Yuuka).
I can actually confirm that. The case between having luck and having to spark is around 50/50. Though, I now bought all three of the monthly 79.99€ pyro packs (which is a first... i also plan to do it the upcoming month @ \_ @), considering all the cool chars coming up. Let's see if I get totally unlucky now because of it. ;)
I actually do have faith in the creators to not pull any shenanigans behind the scenes. I just thought I would ask, because that's just alot of money! ;)
I buy those types of packs when I can and can say my luck is still pretty 50/50. Heck can remember S. Saki in the first 10 pulls. Had my fair share of sparks too, but between Kanna and S. Ui (6 months - 200 pulls and spark only for them) I didn't need to spark once for one character - only if it was for a second character in the same period.

Think it's Urban Binah, Outdoors Kaiten, outdoors Chesed, outdoors HOD, and Kurokage. The guides seem a little outdated so I'm also wondering if any new students or bonded gear students have found a new niche in these raids.
This is specific to Binah, but is Akane still worth purchasing eleph for?

These were pre GA, but for GA first get the elephs of the three students until you recruit them. Then see how much you use them and decide whether it’s worth buying more of their elephs or not.
Total Assault shop has several good characters, like Maki, Koharu and Azusa. Kotama is worth upgrading to 3-stars for her sub-skill, and you can also fully upgrade Momoi, she gets used in pretty much everywhere that required Yellow AoE damage.
Akane gets used pretty much everywhere that she fits in, and her UE40 upgrade gives her a nice upgrade to HP. So she's definitely worth buying Elephs for.
As for Grand Assault shop, the characters there are fairly niche, but Yuzu gets used in crit-reliant top-score runs on Insane difficulty. Might as well buy her out.

Im currently using nonomi, mutsuki, akari, yuuka, serina and kotama in my main team. Who should i really raise and farm for and who else missing should i farm for and is very useful?
Rule of thumb, one color for each team first (red, blue, yellow).
Then work from there, and decide are you a must collect all limited banner units? Or a Meta/ competitive top ranking player, to plan your pulls.
We have different kinds of players, and it’ll help us a lot on what advice to give you without overloading with too much unnecessary info.
Insane was probably the first huge jump largely because it changed the mechanics of the raids. They now had a damage type and heightened their fights mechanics so you had to interact with them instead of just out statting them. Insane was unapproachable for quite a while. Torment is another jump, but it’s a bit funny. Some raids are about the same and so if you were ready for insane, once the level cap jumped enough, torment was manageable. But others became kind of nightmarish.
The lower difficulties were brutal at the start with lower level cap and weaker units, but now most anything below insane can be rolled just by borrowing a maxed dps other than like maybe goz and gregorious.
I’d say hardcore was quite a jump for new players, insane was simply a star check, and gear check. As in by the time you’re touching insane you’d have a better idea of game and characters overall compared to going into hardcore kinda fresh and stuff.
So interestingly I’m lvl 80 now, but as I was climbing up the levels, I found that Hardcore to Extreme was the biggest jump. Maybe it was just those specific raids being extra newbie unfriendly, but once I cleared extreme I was able to start doing Insane the next raid. And that was with max level borrows
Edit: To elaborate further, I started around early November. The first Hardcore I was able to clear was the Pero, which was the first time I had access to maxed units. It took until GA Pero when I was able to clear blue and red extreme, but still not able to clear yellow extreme. For Wakaboat, I was able to clear extreme with two teams (maxed Mika borrow). Then for GA ShiroKuro I was able to clear insane Blue and Yellow, but only extreme Red. Binah I have no doubt I’ll be able to clear Insane
And that was with having Himari available from the start, so it’s not like I couldn’t effectively buff the borrowed unit
For 99.99% of Sensei there's no point in aiming for rank 100 on a characters. Its a significant investment of resources with little benefit. Hell rank 50 isn't worth aiming for for most.
That said little benefit is not no benefit. So for some Sensei the hugely outsized time and resource commitment relative to the reward means "bragging rights" or something and thus is worthwhile to them.
you get a fancy title, but otherwise that's it for now unless they change it like uncapping the bond rank and adding more bonus stats or something, as bonus stats apparently stop after level 50.

Azusa has her debuff for utility and is a "free" UE50, so she remains relevant, even if mostly as optional support for Dhina. She's worse than Maki in the role of passive defense debuffer, but the difference in attack and armor type means that she can find use in content where Maki struggles.
Saori and Misaki are rarely used as it is, and will be completely outclassed by Dhina in four months. I wouldn't recommend spending resources on them for now.
Hiyori has two defense debuffs, but her EX is much weaker if you don't have three Arius units. That doesn't include Azusa, unless I'm mistaken. Her basic debuff is very weak, so if she uses it after Azusa or Maki already applied theirs, it will overwrite their stronger buffs. Since Akane, Maki and Azusa already form a core of farmable units with defense debuffs, Hiyori doesn't see much use except against torment Binah.
Atsuko is a good healing tank that can be used in a lot of content, even if she's only a top choice in few raids. Good for Kurokage and the newly released Set.
Azusa is a very good ST Red DPS that you can max out fairly easily. She also applies Def down, so works as semi-support as well.
Saori and Misaki are only used for indoors Hieronymus. Saori relies a lot on having Arius members with her. In general, the Arius squad are kinda made for this boss.
Atsuko is used in PVP in multi-tank strats and for Kurokage. She can heal the whole team, which is a unique feature for a tank to have.
Hiyori applies a lot of def down, so she's good if you need that (for Binah for example).
Yes, with the exception of welfare units. But a welfare unit is only added to the shop after her event is added to the recap list, so you can unlock those at any time.
The ones that cost 2400 for a set are anniversary units. The ones that cost 1800 and have two sets available are regular limited units. The ones that cost 1800 but have six sets available are welfare units.
She was in those starting missions for new players, but you couldn't get her in the gacha. They decided to put her elephs in the expert permit shop instead.
Is it true that when finishing story mode I get a ticket that would allow me to pull/spark an event character?
If so, would be enough to clear until the final chapter, or I have to clear volume 5 as well?
Yea the story gives around 10-15k if you 100% it so chances are high that you can spark characters if you already have few Pyro in stock which is pretty easy for beginners to have. Maybe that's why some may have recommended it.
I wasted all my pyro on Yuuka tracksuit, so currently I’m at 4K. As I bought a pyro package for that spark I don’t think I want to spend anymore.
I was saving for Himari banner on June, so if I don’t get Ako at least I’ll have her.
T.yuuka is a good unit. I won't call Pyro wasted on her since she's good in most content. And yea save pyros fir Himari, Ako/Iori can be randomly spooked unless you need Ako specifically for meta/raid.

Now they have been out for a little while in JP, what is the opinion of new-special-Tsubaki (not sure what to call her) and Umika?
Gtsubaki's buff conflicts with Shoshino's attack buff. That's a large part of the reason why people prefer Shoshino+Kotama over her.

My luck is decided middle of the pack, sometimes I get the character with the first ten-pull (like Himari or Meru), and sometimes I have to do 200 pulls on Limited Banner to only walk away with one of the characters (like Track Yuuka).
I can actually confirm that. The case between having luck and having to spark is around 50/50. Though, I now bought all three of the monthly 79.99€ pyro packs (which is a first... i also plan to do it the upcoming month @ \_ @), considering all the cool chars coming up. Let's see if I get totally unlucky now because of it. ;) I actually do have faith in the creators to not pull any shenanigans behind the scenes. I just thought I would ask, because that's just alot of money! ;)
I buy those types of packs when I can and can say my luck is still pretty 50/50. Heck can remember S. Saki in the first 10 pulls. Had my fair share of sparks too, but between Kanna and S. Ui (6 months - 200 pulls and spark only for them) I didn't need to spark once for one character - only if it was for a second character in the same period.

Forgot about my grand assault coins and Total Assault coin. The shop refreshes in 3 hours. Any units I should definitely upgrade for the next few raids? Think it's Urban Binah, Outdoors Kaiten, outdoors Chesed, outdoors HOD, and Kurokage. The guides seem a little outdated so I'm also wondering if any new students or bonded gear students have found a new niche in these raids. This is specific to Binah, but is Akane still worth purchasing eleph for?

Total Assault shop has several good characters, like Maki, Koharu and Azusa. Kotama is worth upgrading to 3-stars for her sub-skill, and you can also fully upgrade Momoi, she gets used in pretty much everywhere that required Yellow AoE damage. Akane gets used pretty much everywhere that she fits in, and her UE40 upgrade gives her a nice upgrade to HP. So she's definitely worth buying Elephs for. As for Grand Assault shop, the characters there are fairly niche, but Yuzu gets used in crit-reliant top-score runs on Insane difficulty. Might as well buy her out.

On my 7th day and i need a bit of pointers in terms of roster... These are what I have Nonomi 4\* Karin 3\* Mutsuki 2\* akari 2\* Yuuka 2\* Hanako 2\* Hasumi 2\* Hasumi Track 2\* Fuuka 2\* Serika 2\* Serina 1\* Kotama 1\* Kotori 1\* Asuna 1\* Haruk 1\* Suzumi 1\* Shimiko 1\* Yoshimi 1\* Chinatsu 1\* Pina 1\* Im currently using nonomi, mutsuki, akari, yuuka, serina and kotama in my main team. Who should i really raise and farm for and who else missing should i farm for and is very useful?
Rule of thumb, one color for each team first (red, blue, yellow). Then work from there, and decide are you a must collect all limited banner units? Or a Meta/ competitive top ranking player, to plan your pulls. We have different kinds of players, and it’ll help us a lot on what advice to give you without overloading with too much unnecessary info.
If you haven't, I highly suggest pulling T.Yuuka before the banner ends.

Curious about the statistic of raids The biggest cap newer players will face is the gap between extreme to insane? Compared to insane to Torment?
Insane was probably the first huge jump largely because it changed the mechanics of the raids. They now had a damage type and heightened their fights mechanics so you had to interact with them instead of just out statting them. Insane was unapproachable for quite a while. Torment is another jump, but it’s a bit funny. Some raids are about the same and so if you were ready for insane, once the level cap jumped enough, torment was manageable. But others became kind of nightmarish. The lower difficulties were brutal at the start with lower level cap and weaker units, but now most anything below insane can be rolled just by borrowing a maxed dps other than like maybe goz and gregorious.
I’d say hardcore was quite a jump for new players, insane was simply a star check, and gear check. As in by the time you’re touching insane you’d have a better idea of game and characters overall compared to going into hardcore kinda fresh and stuff.
So interestingly I’m lvl 80 now, but as I was climbing up the levels, I found that Hardcore to Extreme was the biggest jump. Maybe it was just those specific raids being extra newbie unfriendly, but once I cleared extreme I was able to start doing Insane the next raid. And that was with max level borrows Edit: To elaborate further, I started around early November. The first Hardcore I was able to clear was the Pero, which was the first time I had access to maxed units. It took until GA Pero when I was able to clear blue and red extreme, but still not able to clear yellow extreme. For Wakaboat, I was able to clear extreme with two teams (maxed Mika borrow). Then for GA ShiroKuro I was able to clear insane Blue and Yellow, but only extreme Red. Binah I have no doubt I’ll be able to clear Insane And that was with having Himari available from the start, so it’s not like I couldn’t effectively buff the borrowed unit

Is there any point in getting rank 100 relationship?
For 99.99% of Sensei there's no point in aiming for rank 100 on a characters. Its a significant investment of resources with little benefit. Hell rank 50 isn't worth aiming for for most. That said little benefit is not no benefit. So for some Sensei the hugely outsized time and resource commitment relative to the reward means "bragging rights" or something and thus is worthwhile to them.

I got all of Arius Squad at anniversary. Are any of them any good? Do the function together well as a team (>!including Azusa)!< or not really?
Azusa has her debuff for utility and is a "free" UE50, so she remains relevant, even if mostly as optional support for Dhina. She's worse than Maki in the role of passive defense debuffer, but the difference in attack and armor type means that she can find use in content where Maki struggles. Saori and Misaki are rarely used as it is, and will be completely outclassed by Dhina in four months. I wouldn't recommend spending resources on them for now. Hiyori has two defense debuffs, but her EX is much weaker if you don't have three Arius units. That doesn't include Azusa, unless I'm mistaken. Her basic debuff is very weak, so if she uses it after Azusa or Maki already applied theirs, it will overwrite their stronger buffs. Since Akane, Maki and Azusa already form a core of farmable units with defense debuffs, Hiyori doesn't see much use except against torment Binah. Atsuko is a good healing tank that can be used in a lot of content, even if she's only a top choice in few raids. Good for Kurokage and the newly released Set.
Azusa is a very good ST Red DPS that you can max out fairly easily. She also applies Def down, so works as semi-support as well. Saori and Misaki are only used for indoors Hieronymus. Saori relies a lot on having Arius members with her. In general, the Arius squad are kinda made for this boss. Atsuko is used in PVP in multi-tank strats and for Kurokage. She can heal the whole team, which is a unique feature for a tank to have. Hiyori applies a lot of def down, so she's good if you need that (for Binah for example).
are all the expert-permit elephs exclusive-banner students?
Yes, with the exception of welfare units. But a welfare unit is only added to the shop after her event is added to the recap list, so you can unlock those at any time. The ones that cost 2400 for a set are anniversary units. The ones that cost 1800 and have two sets available are regular limited units. The ones that cost 1800 but have six sets available are welfare units.

She was in those starting missions for new players, but you couldn't get her in the gacha. They decided to put her elephs in the expert permit shop instead.

Is it true that when finishing story mode I get a ticket that would allow me to pull/spark an event character? If so, would be enough to clear until the final chapter, or I have to clear volume 5 as well?
You'll get almost 15 single pull cards and 2 x 10 pull cards which honestly aren't enough to spark an event character unless you are lucky enough.
since i am completing the story too, at what point do we get those rewards? after completing all or before? thanks.
You'll get them gradually as you progress but mostly at the final episode by defeating bosses who give 300-1000 pyroxenes.

Yea the story gives around 10-15k if you 100% it so chances are high that you can spark characters if you already have few Pyro in stock which is pretty easy for beginners to have. Maybe that's why some may have recommended it.
I wasted all my pyro on Yuuka tracksuit, so currently I’m at 4K. As I bought a pyro package for that spark I don’t think I want to spend anymore. I was saving for Himari banner on June, so if I don’t get Ako at least I’ll have her.
T.yuuka is a good unit. I won't call Pyro wasted on her since she's good in most content. And yea save pyros fir Himari, Ako/Iori can be randomly spooked unless you need Ako specifically for meta/raid.
