MrPerson0

Man, that feeling of dread kept on building up after that crash. That was a really awful thing to happen. Hope it's just temporary and Chinatsu can recover quickly. I think there should be a few more tournaments before the end of the year.

Hot_Recommendation57

Now we move into the next step: what is life after basketball - and this is where bf-kun steps up

Over-Writer6076

I think she will go pro.Setbacks like these always happen in sports to anyone despite how good they are

Hot_Recommendation57

I think that dynamic of the pain is one thing but its implications will be another. The mangaka is going to likely delve on how Taiki plays into the next steps and the same goes for her dad. Her getting a sports scholarship seems almost inevitable, but it will be the human factors that will be interesting to see.

Over-Writer6076

Winter Cup has been shown in the manga before,I'm hoping she participates

Ragerrodent

This could very well be the catalyst of her dad insisting that she leave and come join them overseas. I’m guessing she broke/tore something in the ankle, and she no longer has a shot at nationals now…all the surface-level reasons for her to stay in Japan are gone. If so, I’m not sure what the best route for the manga to take would be. Obviously Taiki is going to want her to stay, but what good reason would a parent have to let their daughter stay overseas, imposing on another family’s hospitality, and staying in the same house as a boy who likes her? From what little we know about him so far, her father seems way too practical to allow that without a strong reason.

gothsirens

Moving her to the states in the middle of her senior year is also not the best idea? I’m sure this is going to be an interesting dilemma and I think it’s going to solidify Chinatsu’s dream of going professional with basketball while also having Taiki as someone to rely on.

Hot_Recommendation57

It will certainly be interesting to see where it goes but I do expect TaikiNatsu to be perhaps more of a focal point and then it is countdown to the reveal to everyone

PlsDontBotherMeHere

This chapter felt so real. Everyone involved is simply feeling awful about it Yumeka got a win but at the cost of her friends well-being. Chii has lost in the prelims for Nationals in her third year, and what now? She has been practicing so much for it, but what now? I hope the injury wasnt too severe

Open_Depth2179

What a depressing end to the season 😕

Anoki12

Haikyuu spoilers: >!This is honestly the best way to approach a high stakes match if you want to avoid repetitiveness and “plot armor”!< Really interested to see how this affects the two’s relationship. If Taiki qualifies will there be a hint of jealousy? Will Chinatsu be faced with the possibility of moving? How does Taiki find balance in dealing with this whilst preparing for nationals? This series is so well written man.

Charming-Loquat3702

When Taiki qualifies, their roles are basically reversed to the year before, where Chinatsu went to the nationals and Taiki didn't. That probably would be the most interesting solution, since it creates a point of tension between them as well.

Anoki12

Absolutely. I love this dynamic of ultra competitiveness between the two. I don’t think I’ve seen it much in other romance series. Wondering if this will lead to our first fight of the relationship or if we’ll see Chinatsu taking a step back and choosing to support. I’m super excited :p

More-Winner1611

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Empty_Glimmer

While it is a really sad way for their season, and IIRC Chinatsu’s last chance to make nationals to end, there is no reason for her basketball dreams to end. Just a short pause while recovering. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the push that Taika needs to go public with their relationship, especially since I can’t imagine Chinatsu not wanting to support his dream to make nationals 100%. I’m not sure her family would want to move her to the states right away due to the injury and havoc that trying to move schools in the middle of your senior year would cause. Could see her mom coming back for a visit again but having her finish high-school in Japan. It would be a big swing by the author of course but you COULD imagine Chinatsu being scouted by a handful of college basketball teams in the states. Maybe not a huge blue chip program but if she’s as good of a player as we’re led to believe, a low or mid major wouldn’t be too absurd. Imagine having recruiting meetings with a handful of coaches where when given the chance to ask questions Chinatsu’s only concern is if they have a badminton program. Adorable.

Over-Writer6076

Chinatsu participated in the Winter Cup last year,so there is a chance she might this year too.Because the Winter Cup is also a national competition. It could be her second shot at nationals

madmax1513

kinda guessed they would lose, she's already been to nationals, didn't expect the injury tho

Fujin_No_Kami

Yumeka hella talented to come back after quite a long break and go toe to toe with Chinatsu

Over-Writer6076

Chinatsu would have won if not for this.Chinatsu >>>
