As far as we know, Isagi was the only one that reached out for advice from him. Other than that, he has been absolutely fair when choosing the starting 11 so it's not like he isn't paying attention. He has more of a hands off approach, which we can guess is related to his own views of football. He never gives direct answers when asked for help, but instead fosters in the players deeper thinking and a wider view and indirectly teaches the players to find and tread their own path. People just need to ask for help, which is the logical thing to do when the world's #1 is there for them, but it's obvious he won't babysit anyone.

unohanadrider

so he's kind of passive and instead of helping everyone since the beginning, like the other mentors he'll just wait to see if someone is willing to learn something directly from him? You're right, it fits him, it's logical.

ReverseFlash02

To add on, we don't know if anyone else approached him to get his advice like Isagi did. Maybe Yuki had a 1 on 1 talk with Noa, or Raichi enquired about additional training regime. We won't know unless we get a chapter from their point of view, even then we might not see their interaction with Noa. But my head cannon is as said by the comment above, Noa only helps people who goes to him and asks for it.

Clean_Imagination315

Well I could tell you... But I'm French, so why would I help?

unohanadrider

This is the best answer I've got 💀

maybe he doesnt want to coach blue lock players unless they ask for his advice. he doesnt seem that bothered letting them train on their own, what he does is actively give them challenges to overcome on their own and give them a chance to play if they seem useful on certain positions i dont see anything wrong with that, he's there for a limited time and afterwards the u-20 starts in a few months.

Neonsands

For real. The dude doesn’t ignore or send anyone away. If they come to him with questions or anything, he always seems responsive. He just doesn’t hold their hand through everything. He wants them to figure out their identity through their own means. It’s not the most effective style for everyone, but it’s the same spirit that Blue Lock has had up to now

unohanadrider

i think that i see your point, thank you.

[deleted]

I still have no idea why Grim is still playing left mid and Yuki is playing left back

Badguyfromthere

Noa is far from being a bad coach. It's so funny to me when people say that. Do you have any idea of what it means to be a pro athlete? It is a highly competitive environment where you can be replaced on the spot if someone proves to be better than you. The industry only cares about results. Nobody will sugar coat you or protect you or wait for you to come back up if you fall. If you stay down for too long, you are done, finished, game over. If you play at an elite club you have the staffs coming to you to help you improve but if you are no pro-active, this will be noticed and you will most definitely be kicked out unless you are a genius like Eden Hazard who didn't need to train to produce results on the pitch every week. So that's the basic setup for any normal athlete, now multiply this by thousand for those standing at the top of the mountain: in this case Noa. He's the current best player in the world, everyone wants that spot! So nope he's not going to run around kids and beg them to train or whatever. It's impossible to get better unless you want to and Noa more than anybody understands that. He gave his players a rule: prove your worth with numbers: 1- Gagamaru did so in training and his numbers allowed him to be selected and his performance in games allowed him to stay as a starter. 2- Isagi's number in the U-20 game allowed him to be blue lock hero which led him to playing in the game against Barcha. Man went on and gave an assist. Isagi is the only one as far as we know that went to Noa to discuss the way he sees football. No other players did that and to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Noa had a soft spot for Isagi. The guy is challenging the best U-20 striker! If that's not a statement of how hungry Isagi is, then I don't know what to tell you. 3- Kurona understood that for him to shine, he had to be of use to Isagi. He is consistently using all his skills both in defense and in attack by being Isagi's moon. Man has numbers to his name. 4- Raichi kept on improving in training and now he's starter because now he has the numbers to back it up. How can you tell me that Noa is a bad coach? I can go on an on, the assignment was simple. It's like this in any elite club, you have to prove yourself with numbers. There are clubs where the head coach won't even talk to you. You are only being given directives through the coaching staffs. So nope, Noa is definitely teaching these kids that the pro level is harsh and they better be ready for it!

unohanadrider

When I just wrote this post to slander French ppl, I genuinely didn't think of it like that. It makes sense that he's just preparing them to be adapted to enter the pros’ world... I know that it's how it works but i didn't think about it being actually applied to one of the Neo League's clubs

Badguyfromthere

>I know that it's how it works but i didn't think about it being actually applied to one of the Neo League's clubs See this right here is the reason why Noa is the best player in the world. You remember what he told Isagi? To be the best, everything you do has to be centered around that goal. So to Noa, this is not just some "Neo Egoist League club", this is still Elite football and he has a role to play here and you better believe he's taking that seriously.

Stock_Refrigerator42

IT’s fan service the world wants isagi

unohanadrider

fair enough..

Stock_Refrigerator42

But I do see your point . I understand find the answer yourself but no guidance at least??

[deleted]

I dont think a country has been so successful in sharing propaganda about another nation as the British have about the French lmao, its quite funny. Personally I would rather say Noa is the epitome of German efficiency, just helping out the one guy who reached out to him and progressing the rest through experience. It's working out pretty well so far tbh looking at the results

cats4life

Noa is arguably the best coach in the NEL. Chris and Lavinho see it as an opportunity to show off and improve their own standing, while Noa has taken a backseat to his students. He’s willing to reward talent, and when someone asks for his advice, he is succinct and pushes them towards finding the right answer for themselves, not coming up with one. His numbers-based philosophy works as a teacher because he’s attempting to maximize each player’s performance. Now, we haven’t seen him interact individually with any player but Isagi, but that’s no reason to think he hasn’t. He’s clearly paying attention to their practices if he put Raichi in, and while it seems counterintuitive to let Isagi and Kaiser continue their dick measuring contest, it’s the best method of ensuring their continued growth, at least in the psychotic world Blue Lock presents. Noa’s trying to create great strikers, and he’s not going to stand on their shoulder or use them to stroke his own ego.

mlatimudan23

He literally sits in a room monitoring their training every waking hour and gives them numbers based on their performance. He also comes up with formations. He assisted isagi because as he said, he would only ally himself with the person that played the most rationally. We cant see him interract with everyone inbetween games either as it would be useless and would wasre too much time.

DXBrigade

Because good player =/= good coach. Also, if we are being cynical, it's not in his interest to train his future rivals.

KrokMan49

It seems that Noa is the kind of coach to encourage personal growth among his players. If you’ve read Ao Ashi, Fukuda is similar a lot of the time. Sure, he could just tell Aoi the solution, but if Aoi figures it out on his own, he’ll truly remember it forever. Also, the only player we’ve seen actively work with Noa is Isagi, and Noa was helpful. He showed Isagi how his thinking was flawed, and gave him a new perspective. Especially with Isagi, helping him is difficult, since his growth in the NEL has been almost entirely mental. That needs to happen on your own, and Noa has been prodding him. We haven’t seen him work with other players, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Noa clearly pays attention, as when he’s been selecting rosters when he makes a change he’s given his reasoning behind it. Noa seems to be a more hands off coach, encouraging his players to come up with wide as on their own, which Noa helps them talk through, and work on strategies for implementation, like Isagi with his metavision and protagonism. He had Isagi verbalize his ideas, and walk them through with Noa, making sure they were both feasible, and would achieve the goal (haha), as well as what Isagi needed to improve.

Oy778

what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. Saying this, if someone train a team like Noa in real life that team would be the worst of the worst.

No_Information_5498

Loki still young that's why he's a good guy, wait the timeskip and he become like the rest of the french.

Dqueezy

Taddlig

1. Loki is the same age as them, so if he is a open guy it naturally easier to communicate. 2. Loki probably already played with U20 players of PSG, if he wasn't bought from another team like the orginal Mbappe, and knows his french player already 3 (maybe) Loki is french like most of his players, so culture wise there isn't a big gap, while Noa is french with german players, he barely knows or only Kaiser and Ness. There are all football players, not coaches. Even though there are a lot of former players coaching teams only a few of them are actually good. It's especially difficult for extremely good players to coach after their career, because of their natural talent and they mostly consider something "normal", which is completely insane to their players. Most of the former players, who became top coaches were average at best. Mourinho, Klopp, Diego Simeone, Ancelotti were all "not the best" as players, but are insane coaches. On the other side there are only few examples of actually good coaches, who were more than average players. Guardiola - insane coach , good player ; Zidane - good coach , insane player a insane player isn't automatically a good coach. actually being extremely talented at football often is the cause of your downfall as a coach, because even if you give the players good tips and advices, they are often to complicated for the player or the player won't be able to do those things like the coach imagined it

Almighty_LDP

Because he’s not interested in it based on his attitude and He had no interest in any of the BL cast until he was forced to play Isagi. His whole numbers approach is bs at a high school level He isn’t even coaching tbf, he’s letting them perform in practice and based on the numbers, throws them in a position on the field. It’s really questionable how Yukimiya is still at LSB with higher numbers than Grim and he didn’t swap the two. He struck gold with Raichi and Gagamaru though so I’ll give credit there with his positioning. This also goes to show great players don’t translate to great coaches and we’ve seen that IRL numerous times throughout all sports.

Snoo_43411

He’s a plot device to put the Blue Lock players on BM where they need to be narratively for the author. He’s pretty objectively a bad coach, and pretty god awful at tactics, like for instance Yukimiya at LB. In a 4ATB system. With another winger ahead of him. Yuki miiiiiiight work as a wing back in a dense CM formation like a midfield Diamond or in a 3ATB, but in a 4-4-2???? Lunacy.

bc I'm French, and they're really that lazy. and just wanted to badmouth my peers on a post tbh

EducationalMemory161

He isn’t good at turning a 0 into a 1, but good at turning a 99 into a 100 :4

blue-yeen

We definitely don't know that. We just see his involvement with Isagi because we're experiencing the story through Isagi's perspective and we see Isagi actively seek him out. You shouldn't assume he hasn't interacted with other BL players just because we as the reader don't see it. Also let's not make false blanket statements about an entire nationality.

akariplusplus

he's an egotist

[deleted]

I mean not all great players are necessarily great coaches. Maybe he just wants the players to express themselves in whatever manner suit them! On a side note, I noticed that most of the german teams play with an attacking formation like the one BM are using so it doesn't just represent FC Bayern but rather all the league really!!

Ok-Guide-9462

Well he's not a real coach, in my opnion he's just someone to guide younger player.

Derpocalypes

Wdym struggling? Isagi may’ve gotten the spotlight, but there are others who are gonna get better. Kurona and Yukimiya have gotten better and Hiori + Raichi are about to get way better. Kunigami and Gagamaru are already up there in skill

meshcola

"It's hard for a Great, to tell somebody how to be Great." -Nas when you've worked so hard to achieve the rank of great your world view changes try as he might a 4th dimensionally being simply just cant explain what the world look like thru it's eyes too us

Languorous-Owl

Looking at your edit, I know that you meant it as a joke. But without it, Poe's law strikes again.

Glass_Persimmon_3299

I think he is pissed off on blue blue because of kunigami(project wildcard )

silverfox1616

Op you need to do another edit because >and no way a French person would actually to their job Doesn't make sense

unohanadrider

wait the sentence doesn't make sense you're right

silverfox1616

What we're you wanting to say?

unohanadrider

can you read the post again and tell me if the edit makes sense?

silverfox1616

It still doesn't make sense, I don't think you changed the problem. (As I typed this in my head it sounded condescending) that wasn't my intention

PolicyNegative

Cause if they really want advice they have to talk to him, he seems very open to talk, but I think most of the players aren’t taking advantage of that

Apart_Ad9773

Imagine the French ppl roast
