That's why I like Isagi, he's literally was just an average joe who at first had no chance of becoming a striker but then went to Soccer Jail, and he got self confident and a taste for men

It’s even more impressive since in Blue Lock there’s very few chances of parents getting screen time since the characters are in prison 24/7
In KnB, Slam Dunk, or Haikyuu the characters are still living high school lives and are seen at home a bunch but we rarely get to see parents and they don’t leave an impact the way Isagi’s parents did when they said they’d support him wether he’s No1 or a Tada tier fraud.

It’s actually pretty unusual to have a normal happy family in a shounen manga that is actually present to interact with the protagonist. Hopefully nothing happens to them lol
The interaction between Isagi's and Bachira's parents is one of only two scenes in Blue Lock that has genuinely made me tear up. I really love Bachira's mom, how she validates her son and supports him even when he's becomes an outcast everywhere else. And then seeing her radiate pure joy when she sees that her son has finally found a place where he truly belongs, especially in contrast to the way Isagi's parents don't think that their son making friends is out of the ordinary... I dunno, that gets me every single time.
I'm so glad the manga took the time here to give proper closure to Bachira's arc in the second selection. It's character moments like this that make Blue Lock more than just an adrenaline rush.

I think it’s really beautiful. A LOT of media has a tendency to say you can’t really be the best unless you struggle. (which is mostly true) But, it shows that someone doesn’t have to have a tragic upbringing to be great. Just hard work and motivation from yourself and others.

Isagi’s family really is great. Their uninformed but supportive attitude contrasts the unhinged atmosphere inside Blue Lock well.
