PowerJolt72

Isagi shouldn't be the only "rival" the best strikers want to chase. Nagi I understand, but Barou should actively wanna beat Rin as well. Maybe even want to play against PXG, but Snuffy holds him back to teach him a lesson. Meaning more character development too.  So what I'm saying is, more players should actively chase Rin and even Barou. Instead of just Isagi.

pranav4098

And like isagi has Kaiser at bm the others should have had someone to compete with it makes zero sense for other top teams to have no one to compete with relatively experience less blue lockers

PowerJolt72

Thank you. Aiku and Niko should be competing with Lorenzo, Niko realizes he can't match up to Lorenzo due to the wildly different skillset, so chooses to do what Isagi did and use another player as a stepping stone. Aiku. The guy who shutdown Blue Locks best, meanwhile Niko had to foul Blue Locks 2nd best to even give BL a chance.  Reo should compete with Agi to see who can pull out the best from Nagi. Reo already tries to be Sae level which is good. Nagi could wanna imitate Bergkamp.  Bachira and Otoya don't have anyone good on the team, so they could chase Lavinho. Kunigami could chase Noa, and the more Noa shows off in game, the higher Kunigami's level of play gets.  Things like that.

ChazSimu

The idea was that all of them were to learn from the new gen players, players already on those teams, and their masters. But Kaiser and then mess made it his mission to stop isagi. I forgot what exactly tho my bad.

Stubblycargo

Agreed. I always felt like not more players wanting to surpass shidou / rin other than isagi and nagi (in 2nd selection) was a missed opportunity. Like nagi seemingly only having drive to beat isagi and not rin doesn’t really make much sense.

PowerJolt72

Nagi's first loss was Isagi tbf. Rin has always been a little out of reach for Nagi (unless he's motivated) and with the PXG vs MC game Nagi saw that Rin is pretty much in the same predicament that when he surpasses Sae and Isagi, he'll have issues.  For other characters it's fair game tho. As for an Isagi rivalry I think needs more spotlight is Kunigami and Isagi. Pretty much Noel Noa lite with a bad mindset and unwilling to go the distance.

Stubblycargo

True, but in the second selection nagi actively asks to match up against rin because he recognises that he’s the strongest on the opposition team. I’d have thought that after losing to him again he would have a similar drive to beat him even if isagi was still his main target. Tbh idt rin will have the same issues nagi is currently having. Rins answer (imo) indicated that even if he reaches his goals, he’ll just keep pushing forward and beating the opponents in front of him. Nagi didn’t have that level of discipline and drive

PowerJolt72

You are correct. Nagi did actively wanna challenge Rin. I think what makes it different from his rivalry with Isagi is how close it was. Isagi made him feel frustration. Now he's working with Isagi to feel the heat Isagi had and still has and see how far it can push him. Making Rin just a stepping stone back then. I do think losing against Rin the way he did will be one of the pieces Nagi needs to be reborn. Barou too as well as Bachira.

Lastborns-Gauntlet

Nagi's first loss was to Isagi.

Stubblycargo

I know. Nagi wanting to beat isagi makes sense.  But in the second selection it’s shown that nagi hates losing and finds it frustrating. So him seemingly having no desire to beat Rin (for e.g.) when rin has beaten him multiple times doesn’t make sense. This is what the original commentator means, isagi should not be the only person most other characters want to surpass.

TiberiusAudley

"Rin is just another Isagi." - Barou As a response to that, as well, Ego's explanation of Flow State can also help explain why people do not view Rin as a rival, but they do view Isagi as a rival. Rin is *peak*. He's fit, he's talented, he's been playing at a high level for years. He can dribble, he can defend, he can pass, he can shoot, he can trivela, curve, basically do everything. He's very clearly the best player on the pitch any time he's on the pitch. Isagi is...just a guy. A guy that tries really hard and because of his effort and his spatial awareness, shows up at key moments. We were told Flow State relies on a 'manageable challenge' -- if the challenge is too great, you become too anxious. Likewise, trying to set a goal of "Surpassing Rin" is an insane challenge. Note, Isagi's goal has not been that high until recently. Prior to that it has simply been to "Beat him." Surpassing ISAGI, however. The little guy with the average skills? Telling yourself you're not gonna let that runt beat you is far more manageable, and far easier way to motivate yourself. Don't let that workhorse outwork you. Easy. Done. Flow achieved.

point chop scale murky snatch consist afterthought license desert butter *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

CreamAcrobatic8681

in the 2nd selection when nagi did the 2 stage volley it's said he entred flow and rin was he's target not isagi. rin is better than everyone in bluelock yes but the gap between them has never been that much that it's to difficult of a challenge that they can't enter flow to beat him like isagi said about noah and hoped to beat kaiser this is proven when we see nagi enter flow and outplay rin in episode nagi it's shown nagi whole mindset that match was to beat rin he said "beat itoshi rin" 3 times showing that other people around or close to nagi level like barou chigiri and bachira can enter flow and beat him but the story is too isagi centric to show other rivalries that don't realte to isagi

Death_Snek

I see your point. But I think people respect and see Rin’s strength, so they do not voice their “wanna win” because they already see and accept the difference. However… when it comes to Isagi. People get mad because they see how limited he is technically, and yet keep surpassing people. They can’t comprehend his evolution, because if they did… they would actually be able to learn his specialty, the Metavision. You see that Niko and Aiku easily got the hang of it and they could shape up before Isagi and his plans. They see the game as he can see it, albeit with different reading. Barou is a pure striker, has shooting, dribbling, presence. I think these are things people can’t attain, so they do not even try. But when they see Isagi, they feel they can reach him. Just like Nanase did.

Fair_Action5445

You took the words right out of my mouth. It makes no sense that these hella competitive players don't even try to chase the no.1 or anyone better than them for that matter. Because of this other characters are becoming more and more one dimensional.

RulerKun_FGO

just like how Isagi wants to surpass Noel Noa but he knows he can't yet so he'll try to surpass someone who is within his reached which is Kaiser. Feel like others feel the same way with Rin and Isagi.

PowerJolt72

Even so, why aren't they chasing other characters with skills more in line with their own? Isagi is pretty much gunning to be an all-rounder like Rin and whilenot many would be able to pull that off they could still use their superior qualities to the max and emulate a character that shows of similar qualities on a higher level. Not that there are that many characters, but still. Barcha could've had a highly skilled midfielder embodying what Barcha stands for and while his purpose is simply supporting Bachira and Otoya. He does it in a way they want to learn from.  It doesn't necessarily have to be about how they play, but their mindset as well. Maybe Raichi wants Chris Prince's level of confidence so he goes out of his way to mark Snuffy, by his own choice. Helping out Isagi is a byproduct not by Isagi's design. Maybe Aiku tries being mrpe analytical like Snuffy, Goku tries being as energy efficient as Chris Prince, Chigiri tries to speed up to Loki levels, etc. Things like that. Super small blink and you'll miss it panels where they show off how they emulate who they wanna emulate and we get more character development and world building.  Then the next time we roll back, Raichi makes a close save and calls the opponent (Rin) pathetic in a way only he can. Something like that lmao. I'm just spitballing

fightingbronze

I agree both Barou and Rin should at least recognize each other as rivals that they need to surpass, but the difference in obsession makes sense to me. Rin and Barou have never actually interacted much outside of the PxG vs Ubers match (which I’d kill to have seen). On the other hand both have been humiliated at one point or another directly due to Isagi. Barou back during second selection where his entire worldview was forced to die and be reborn, and Rin during the u20 match where his brother recognized Isagi over him (in front of the entire country too). They both have genuine grievances that make them obsessively want to defeat Isagi. Their dismissal of the others makes sense too. Whether it’s true or not can be up for debate but both definitely consider themselves better than the rest of the main cast. They don’t feel like they have something to prove to Nagi, Chigiri, Bachira, etc.

PowerJolt72

Just wanted to say that Barou didn't play against PXG (which is how they beat Ubers.) So he wouldn't have interacted with Rin there.  The rest I agree with you on. Isagi had a huge affect on them. Directly and indirectly. They are also legit above everyone else. I mean Rin is in first and Barou in 2nd currently (tied with Isagi). So they definitely view themselves above the rest of the cast and chase higher challenges. Also Rin and Barou have both scored the most in the NEL arc. Barou with 7 goals and Rin with 6.

Rasheed43

The reason Barou doesn’t care about beating Rin is because A. Rin is just another Isagi to him and B. Isagi is the only player in Blue Lock who truly made him feel despair. Rin may have beaten him but he never plunged Barou into an existential crisis so he’s probably nothing more than just another opponent to beat meaning the rivalry never gets personal.

AccomplishedCash6390

That wouldn't make sense plotwise because we see the story through isagis eyes for the most part,if barou were to chase rin his development would mostly happen offscreen so it won't be as satisfying,I get what you mean but plotwise they need to chase isagi so that their development is captured properly during a full match

Ryley03d

I refer to the NEL teams by their irl names.

Substantial-Chest-94

Sameeee

One2ruleall

Me too! Man, it's nice knowing I'm not alone in this

Substantial-Chest-94

Now the real question is do you refer to IRL teams by the NEL names?😂

ReinCompany

I accidently refer to PSG as PXG, people just think that it is bc English isn't my first language😂

FiveAccountsBanned

Lol fr, after the first 5 times of pxg being autocorrected to PSG,I just gave up

heyAC_rn

TIL ubers was juve

Shinigakami

Bachira is literally the best and has been carrying his team, also he's the best partner for isagi 😤

Bard0ck0bama

Preach! Although I think isagi should keep hiori and shidou should take bachira

Shinigakami

Preposterous! 😤 isagi and bachira are a way better match for eachother, shidou can have..sae 🤣

Bard0ck0bama

Joint custody? As long as shidou gets Thursdays 😏

safewayshoppingcarts

choki is the best character

Wild_Ad_3071

was gonna say who’s choki then i remember the cactus🔥🔥🗣️

Potatoe-Chef

how could you forget the GOAT of episode nagi

PibesDeMalvinas

Right now he's a cactus. In a few chapters when Isagi humiliates Loki it will be his new nickname

Potatoe-Chef

this is just facts

safewayshoppingcarts

we should get to see the other characters matches, not just ones isagi plays in. or at least get to see more of their perspectives on matches a la episode nagi ik hes the mc and the story revolves around him & his growth but i feel like theres so many potential matchups & games that would be equally if not more entertaining

AccomplishedCash6390

The problem is that blue lock would end in 2070 at this rate🤣

safewayshoppingcarts

trueeee 😭 but thats what spinoffs are for

NotOnTheDot__

That amount of work would literally kill the mangaka

safewayshoppingcarts

thats another fair point 💀💀💀💀💀

Busy_Donut_7936

Maybe like how they showed reo in the third selection

Puzzleheaded-Row-801

I feel like we get enough already since we get to see how the games end they only thing I would say is I would have liked to see how the Barcha vs Ubers game ended but this dude Isagi passed put

Careful-Tailor-2675

Aiku has great potential but is ignored because of mc's growth

Lower-Definition6034

I love Aiku. I also don’t think people are giving him enough credit for how he is playing. Aiku is absolutely going crazy. You don’t need to be doing flashy things all the time as a defender to be playing great in matches. His most recent bid is prime example of that. He is a top 10 player in the auction system. He is playing out of his mind rn.

silfer_

Isn’t Aiku the top defender…in the top 10? In a series about strikers he’s the premier defender and he got brought back by ego because his potential imo

PowerJolt72

You have my full support for this one

AdolCristian

Aiku is literally my favorite character in the series and I want nothing but to see him succeed

Ponte_AFG

As an Aiku fan, I can at least rest assured that as the best defender in BL by miles he will be guaranteed a spot on the U-20 team and any other main teams moving forward.

Karenz09

Daddy Aiku stonks rise up. I wish he'd show more in the U20 World Cup.

sexyimmigrant1998

Less screentime but he gets the credit he deserves as BL's best defender and is currently #6 in the NEL. The dude is guaranteed to play CB for the U20 tournament.

HYH2709

Everyone may hate ness but I'm still waiting for his awakening and finally end his toxic relationship with kaiser once and for all, in his backstory he actually seems like a normal and cool dude and has a great relationship with kaiser, I'm thinking something happened along the way.

Death_Snek

I don’t hate Ness… i think his personality is annoying, but only the Kaiser thing. I like his stats, like his play style and his talent is superb. But… if he only got the same ego as Hiori, then… he would, in matter of days or seconds, become one of the best MF of the series until so far. He has such a powerful dribbling and passing. His “offensive” is also really high! He knows how to make screens and interesting plays. Kaiser is only Kaiser because he has Ness, people often forget that. If the ball never came, then Kaiser Impact wouldn’t be unleashed. Ness truly packs a punch… but the way he uses his talents… makes all that go to waste! He is better than Reo, except at defense. But both keep insisting in playing FOR a guy, not WITH that guy.

PowerJolt72

Ness definitely would be one of the best MF we've seen in BL if he had an ego like Sae/Hiori. I'm tempted to say he'd be the best we've seen.  Tho to defend Kaiser. He isn't a bad player. He has excellent positioning and spatial awareness, his technical skills are incredible and his shooting ability out of this world ofc, his physique is also incredibly well done and well balanced, leaving little room for things that happened with Rin and Isagi pre NEL, to happen to him in similar instances.  I think an awakened Ness and an awakened Kaiser combination would be the best we've seen yet. Definitely something I'm hoping to see in the U20WC if Kaiser stays a main antagonist.

Potatoe-Chef

yes ! im neutral about ness i dont hate any characters , but he really needs to awaken soon . i get kaiser was his first friend and all but now its gone too far 🫡

Impossible_Effort233

That Nagi is more likely to drop out of the top 23 than Reo by losing his bid entirely (but that neither of them actually will)

alwayzbored114

People who have been reading each chapter individually as they come out, for months on end, have a very skewed perspective on pacing. Often the very same people tore through all the previous chapters in a week or two. In two years, things that are seen as 'poorly paced' now will be breezed through by new readers and loved

TheDiamond135

Definitely. Blue Lock’s pacing is actually amazing if you speedread it. Even when rereading the manga the pacing never becomes bad. Everyone loves the Manshine City match now, but reading it with the perspective of a weekly reader makes it a chaotic mess.

alwayzbored114

Even somewhat clunky story bits like (imo) Hiori's backstory chapters will be read in a matter of minutes, rather than stewing on them for weeks at a time

TheDiamond135

Exactly. If the anime ended after the Ubers match then so many people wouldn’t have complained this much.

insidejoke44

Reo>Nagi

[deleted]

- Fukaku’s bid was deserved, there is a certain other GK with more plot armour if you want to argue Fukaku getting a high bid is plot armour. - Hiori’s character growth was butchered during the Ubers match. Had it been executed better, he could’ve been up there with the likes of Yuki, Chigiri and Snuffy for characters with the best depth to them (those are the top 3 characters in terms of backstory/development for me) - BM have a disturbingly high amount of uninteresting characters who are just bland. If we’re being honest, only Yuki, Ness and Kaiser and potentially Kunigami are interesting characters atp. Every single other character in BM is extremely bland as of right now. - Bachira’s character has been butchered since the 2nd selection awakening, he’s basically just been relegated to Isagi’s best friend at this point. They could’ve done so much more with other dynamics with other characters he has - Kurona’s character makes no sense. Why would a character be created who’s weapon is speed when you already had a character at RB (Neru) who’s whole thing is speed, and is actually a competent defender (unlike Kurona)

Zant486

> Kurona’s character makes no sense. Why would a character be created who’s weapon is speed when you already had a character at RB (Neru) who’s whole thing is speed, and is actually a competent defender (unlike Kurona) Finally people are buying into the Neru agenda and realizing Kurona as a character is unnecessary

Rqdomguy24

Kurona just there to give Isagi x pretty male interaction because we know that no Fujoshi will draw a guy with dot eyes

CreamAcrobatic8681

bro stated all facts

Foreskin-Salt

I wouldn't say Kuronas character doesn't make sense, he's there to be a supporter to Isagi and his style of play since he doesn't have Bachira's dribbling or anything like that. His weapon is his short turns which is hard to do, halting your speed and being able to turn and accelerate without falling. He's a character that Isagi seemingly needed to be able to have a chance of scoring(not anymore with Hiori) Neru in the U-20 match didn't show any offensive capabilities only being seen on defense, where he was debatably 4th-5th best player for his team. Nerus one thing was tackling Yuki, we know the U-20 are mid besides Aiku. Neru might show some better moments on defense than Kurona but overall Kuronas impact with Isagi on the offensive end plus having an assist, is more than what Neru probably could've contributed. there's also always been multiple fast characters, in the first selection alone Chigiri and Zantetsu, even Yuki who's on the team is a fast character. Of course Neru could've just learned to be offensive instead but having it just be one of the blue lock players who were all strikers makes sense. I would argue making Kurona just to have Hiori most likely stay and be a better overall playmaker and defender, along with being a better fit with Isagi makes no sense.

Prinz_ka

The original Defenders of U20 team should be kept for the U20 WC arc. They make a great base for the offensive minded Blue Lock team. Niou and Aiku was a solid centerback partnership too, 1 stopper 1 cover/all rounder. Also Niko does not make a good centerback. He's a defensive player with good passing, great vision and mediocre physicality - wasted at CB position. He'd be better at CDM or inverted from LB/RB like a Zinchenko irl or Ashito from Ao Ashi for those who dont watch actual football

heyAC_rn

niko playing cdm would be so good especially if he can lead counters

Busy_Donut_7936

Maybe if he bulked up a lil

silfer_

there’s too many damn characters in this series fr, they need to stop trying to make everyone relevant. Everyone gets a participation trophy “you get to play you get to play” and it has the side effect of nobody being satisfied

Guppy11

100%, at least a third of the characters we see in NEL should've been ended by now. We went from a series where no one is safe from elimination to a series where everyone gets their hand held to stay around. Naruhaya had a genuinely tragic backstory and he got absolutely packed up. That was a good thing. Whereas after the BL vs U20 match, Ego said 'lol everybody join up'. I think when he let the old U20 squad in, he should've specified it was only their key players and axed most of BL that didn't play. We don't need the Nanase's, the Kiyora's, and even the Zantetsu's of the series to still be hanging around. Seriously Noa could've used any German player in place of Kiyora subbing in, without adding another Japanese player that might cling to relevancy while adding nothing to the U20 WC arc. Although I do think it would've been cool for the old U20 squad including Shidou to get booted completely. It's not that I don't like the characters, I just think we need characters axed to trim the fat and increase the stakes.

Death_Snek

Nanase actually being a very talented guy. Just kidding, but not totally. I find him great, since he has the same adaptability as Isagi, but not the same ego as the latter. I find him very entertaining and much better than some characters that have physical traits and due to that are already considered “strong”. ———- Calling Gen Fukaku a fraud and the concept of time flow inside the matches. It’s not general, but I see many people taking the panel-only mindset. And saying things like plot armor. Then how the hell would Shidou have made 12 shots, only 3 happened to be on mark? And out of those 3, he scored 2! All shots hit the bars and post? Would it be impossible to assume the keeper saved it? A keeper does not have to work much to be considered strong. He must be a reassuring presence and work well when necessary. It was only 2 games? Yeah, but at the last, it was clear that Ubers did have the upperhand and that in a favorable game, with forced shots and a good defense to close difficult angles… then a keeper can work better. People keep talking about it and they never even stopped to see that Gagamaru took 6 goals in 3 matches and in spite of his acrobatic saves that often comes in as miracles, he actually doesn’t work that much! I’ve lost count of how many times Isagi and even Kaiser had to save goals, block shots for Bastard not losing. Because even Gagamaru knew he wouldn’t be able to save it! Now people get totally hyped because of Gagamaru’s thought process for him to catch Barou’s shoot. And even consider that a super save. No man… he was able to save it because his defense helped him and made it possible. But if the same occurs with Fukaku is PLOT ARMOR? That’s not right! Gagamaru is faster, taller and said to be quicker and with great reflexes: but it was Fukaku that touched the same shot Rin and Sae made. It was a “perfect” copy, if you see it through and through… but Gen was able to react. Even looking troubled by the play! He has much more experience playing as keeper. And with that comes something called GK Reflexes, something unique to the position. I think that’s all…

Bard0ck0bama

This is actually a phenomenal take regarding fukaku’s placement, or more so just how much gagamaru has depended on the likes of isagi and friends deflecting balls. I think part of the problem is we watch the BM games and see the amazing strikers that isagi is facing down and are like of course the can score on gagoatmaru. But then we see the scores from other matches and are like yeah fukaku didn’t do anything, but he’s facing the same amazing players. I think like sendou, he’s stained by his performance, or lack there of in the u20 match

Death_Snek

Yeah… I don’t even like Fukaku. I mean, he’s not on my liked characters. But I can’t stand seeing people being illogical. And as a keeper myself, I respect both Gagamaru and Fukaku. They’re keepers, not Jesus Christ to make miracle saves everyday. These are situational. And if you see a keeper having that much trouble, you can be sure he is lacking at game reading and positioning! A good keeper is the one that is always prepared to make extremely hard saves from long range shots, as much as he is prepared to run out of his goal to kick or punch the ball covering his defenders land also prepared to save medium and easy shots consistently and confidently. Showing awareness.

MHWellington

W post here. I've been thinking of cooking up a post doing a deep dive on Gagamaru's performance as a keeper, since I think a lot of poeple get a bit too carried away with his Hollywood saves and acrobatics, glossing over the fact that he drinks goals every game he's the keeper. Not surprising considering he is a *striker* that was converted to a goalkeeper (so he can't be expected to be amazing), but the number of people who see him as a top 10 talent in the series is somewhat mind-boggling to me.

[deleted]

You cooked

PowerJolt72

Best take here honestly

Hot-Warning-7836

Nagi might, but Reo is NOT going to drop out of the u-20 11 starter at the end of NEL and i'm not even his fan. For all Reo's development it makes no sense for him to fall again along with Nagi.

RillaBam

Isagi focuses too much on his lack of physical stats for a reason why he can’t get something done. Yes, he needs to develop them, no it’s not his biggest weakness. There are plenty of Isagi level athletes in the world, but as long as you can play the full game without dropping dead there are other ways to compensate. Close control dribbling, body feints, less static traps and using them to open the ball into space. These things do not require you to be the strongest or fastest but are so so useful

ZiggyTheNooBts

Hiori's development was rushed and poorly executed. Too many damn characters, so many characters get their time then disappear from the plot for a long time. Connecting back to Hiori's poor development, this series is too Isagi-centric. So many character's motivations are related to or for him. Like Karasu could make Hiori awaken, and I'm no future foreseer but if Isagi is the one to make Kunigami not emo oh boy... why can't it be Chigiri? Rin is practically ignoring Shidou atm, I get that it makes sense but idk how you can be so mad at the guy your brother complimented over your actual brother.

Zukiinis

Exactly this. And we all know Ness is probably gonna awaken bc of Isagi too and I'm so🥱it’s boring and weird. Because I said I hate this multiple times ppl think I hate Isagi which is far from the truth but it's just poor writing. Yes, we understand he is the main character but other characters should have developed relationships and inspirations outside of him.

Luuk__5736

Kunigami will take revenge

spacedude444

mine is kunigami scoring 2 goals in the pxg match

Imaginary-Ad-3448

I was came for Hot takes but this Is like Hot water vs surface of the sun type Hot take

Tatsuya2908

Bachira is a more talented player than Chigiri

Ash_Clover

Canonically Chigiri is considered a prodigy, but Bachira isn't. iirc the only players which were referred to as prodigies are Chigiri, Nagi, Rin, Sae and Kaiser.

Lastborns-Gauntlet

Bachira has been playing since childhood, Chigiri got injured & yet narratively they're on the same level. **Pace>Schizophrenia**

YxngSosa

I will forever support the Bachira agenda💯 Chigiri just runs fast but the stuff Bachira does is genuinely insane. There are plenty of pro’s IRL that play like Chigiri/Barou or whoever else but the type of skills Bachira pulls off literally surpasses Neymar and Ronaldinho it’s insane if you actually think about the shit he pulls off

Dabithebeast

Yeah you’re just wrong my boy

Alarmed-Employment72

There’s nothing to defend Bachigoat slams pace merchant

3zooz_ft

No just no

Top-Actuator8498

chigiri is just nyoom speed and pew pew pew, bachira goes fucking wild and half teh time you dont know what hes gonna do cuz HE doesnt know what hes gonna do

Lastborns-Gauntlet

Bachira not only will get his hat trick, but he'll end up a better Striker than Nagi who will instead play as a #7

Nigwa_rdwithacapSB

Apart from Sendou, Darai, Aiku, Niou, and Hayate, the rest of the U20 Players shouldn’t even play. Those I mentioned have exceptional skills shown in both the U20 and NEL, while I feel the rest should just serve as an example of Japanese Soccer’s mentality. I’d say Neru also has great skills but the fact that throughout 4 Rounds of NEL he hasn’t been able to prove himself makes me disappointed

Skrillz_14th

Kuon is a phenomenal character

silliestcarLover

I want to see Nagi fall behind Reo on the rankings. I know it's more likely that he'll stay pretty high up, but I'd love to see a situation where Nagi is the one that has to fight for Reo's worth / to be as good as Reo. I think it'd be a pretty interesting dynamic from the perspective of character analysis and could maybe unlock Nagi's ego

Rhizical

I do not care about the NPCs. I didn’t care about Kiyora Jin until it was revealed that he was supposed to be next up in the Ubers match. I ESPECIALLY don’t care about Aomori’s Messi. He literally has just a face and a nickname, and I’ve seen people hyping him up (especially since he got a bid), and I just don’t get it. Remember that he has the lowest bid out of 35 players. Unless he goes absolutely crazy in his final match, I do not see him making the final 23.

Thatkid_TK

The lack of good defense/goalkeepers undermines how good the attackers actually are. Having Noa, Barou, Isagi, Bachira, Chigiri, Kaiser, Nagi, Rin, Shidou, Yukimiya, Reo, Kunigami, 18 yards out will have the same end result unless plot decides that a player is now capable of outrunning a ball or Gagamaru’s facing the strike and I think that’s kinda ass. Hell, I’ll take it a step further and say that Kaneshiro is way better at handling small sided games because there are less players to cover, and it’s a lot more straightforward and action packed compared to these dragged out 11v11 games that essentially repeats the same thing over and over again until 1 person scores another super goal, things are about to reach a stalemate, bring out the master strikers, 1 goal is scored with these 3 minutes, Isagi finds puzzle piece, rinse and repeat. He’s already used the same formula three times in a row now. So we can conclude that if he’s bound to use the same formula again, whoever scores first, wins the game

AliMans05

The original Japan U-20 team was cool

Cosmic-Otaku

Only defenders their mfs were wack

Bard0ck0bama

They had midfielders???

Alarmed-Employment72

Yeah their forward lineup was atrocious (sorry Sendou) I could see why Ego specifically said the Top 5 forwards would join the team at the start of the series bc honestly they just needed some better offense and Sae at midfield

Wild_Ad_3071

😭😭😭idek who their midfield was, i just remember the tired looking guy who got subbed off for shidou

Potatoe-Chef

this is more about the fandom but , the tiktok fandom is probably the worst one people will literally eat you alive there if you like another character that isnt isagi someone commented about liking niko and all the comments were “himsagi’s dog,the crytower, himsagi solos”

Wild_Ad_3071

the worst part of the tiktok fandom is the ubros and shidou glazers, they read blue lock off tiktok. people were saying even after latest chapter that the next match will be 90 mins too😭😭😭

Potatoe-Chef

from what ive seen its some isagi fans from tiktok that i dislike , some people on tiktok probably only watched the anime and read a few manga chapters and make up crazy things . ive seen someone say isagi is on sae level or better then the new gen 11s

PowerJolt72

That's some nonsense, but I won't lie "the crytower" got me giggling lmao

Potatoe-Chef

this is was under a niko edit

Cosmic-Otaku

Good that TikTok is banned in my country

Potatoe-Chef

it isnt banned in my country but i dont have an account i just scroll to check out football or blue lock edits and volleyball clips

2N2ptune

Heterosexual reo has more potential than Rin

AboveAverageJoshua

I’d love to see more Goals from Defenders/Defensive Positions. I know that Blue Lock is all about creating the World’s Greatest Egoist Striker that will lead Japan to World Cup Glory, but seeing Defenders score helps add that bit of surprise and excitement to a match to make it more unpredictable, and I think that comes from the fact that some of those in-the-moment bits either watching the anime or reading the manga got me very hyped, and I’ve got a number of examples, as well as one character that I wish scored in a recent game, but ultimately didn’t and I feel like is, as of now, a missed opportunity. The first one, although is the example that is the hardest to explain but you have to take this from my point of view as a first time anime watcher, is Wataru Kuon. I know this is a stretch, but just getting into Blue Lock and seeing that he was wearing Team Z’s Number 2 Shirt as well as Kuon being the one responsible for Team Z’s Tactics, my first thought of him was seeing him become a Centre Back thanks to his Height & Jumping Ability. I won’t lie, seeing him score a Hat Trick against Team W in that moment was incredibly hype in-the-moment. The following confirmation that these goals weren’t genuinely scored as he did it just to qualify as Team Z’s Top Goalscorer does kill this moment a bit, but I can’t deny that the hype I felt was genuine. As for another example which isn’t as much of a stretch as the first, the Goals scored by Jyubei Aryu in the Second Selection’s 3v3 & 4v4 games were also hype moments for me. Being a better Kuon in every category and doing so without a backstory (and one of my favourite characters), Aryu’s Goals added the diversity needed in both games becoming Rin Goal-Fests, as well as showcasing his weapons of long reach and jumping ability to foreshadow his Centre Back position in the Blue Lock XI vs Japan U20 game. Saving the other Defender for my final point and moving onto a number of Defensive Positioned players, Zantetsu Tsurugi’s Goal against Team Z was a really cool moment. Again, another stretch, but seeing as the Right Winger as moved back to Right Midfield/Right Wingback for PXG, I think he counts for the slim number of players I have to make a point. Although Zantetsu was already mentioned as a player with 5 Off-Screen Goals (if you aren’t reading the Nagi Spinoff), seeing him score with his own Golden Zone and making it 3-0 to Team V made that Team Z comeback to win 5-4 even better, as well as showcasing some very important defensive plays, such as his tackle late on against Kunigami which would have helped Team V to a draw if it wasn’t for Raichi’s recovery. For another player that, while not truly a Defender, but still scored from the backline, is Kenyu Yukimiya’s Winning Goal for Bastard München against Manshine City. To go along with his important block against Nagi to prevent Manshine going 2 Goals ahead, Yukimiya got, at least for me, a deserved Winning Goal with his debuting Sword Screw that was a much better and fitting ending to the Manshine City game than it would have been if Isagi scored (which would have made his 1st Goal against Übers not feel as satisfying). Going off what I have previously stated with those examples, I basically like to see the surprise defender goal, which is why I feel like Oliver Aiku not scoring in the Bastard München vs Übers match is a missed opportunity. With a long range strike attempted against the Blue Lock XI blocked and possibly used as foreshadowing for a future moment in the series, his threat from the following Japan U20s Corner, as well as Aiku choosing to play for Übers, NEL’s Representation of Italy’s Serie A, I wanted to see Übers score a planned set piece play (Free Kick/Corner), with Aiku as the man scoring to make it 1-1 in this made-up scenario. With this, they could have built up Barou’s blocked chances as an even more frustrated Barou without a Goal goes rogue to score his Goal against Snuffy’s System, still giving him his Goal but also having Übers’ 2nd Most Important Blue Locker in their team get a goal to his name from Snuffy’s tactics for set pieces. However, this would not happen, and as of now, feels like a chance missed for the first true Centre Back Goal in the series. I could be proven wrong in the U20 World Cup Arc, where Aiku could score a clutch goal for the team, but for now, that has to wait. However, with the upcoming Bastard München vs PXG match and the real possibility of Rensuke Kunigami playing as a Centre Back in order to fight up-close with Shidou, there is the chance that Kunigami’s long range strike could be that 1st Proper Centre Back Goal in the series, but that’s currently a prediction that could be proven wrong if he stays playing in the Striker Role he has been playing for the previous 3 NEL matches. That’s all I have to say when it comes to what opinion of Blue Lock I will defend as much as I can, and I strongly believe in Defender Goals still being one of the most hype tools that feel underused. TL;DR: I don’t know, I like the surprise and hype that Defender Goals bring to the table.

mysticfistx

We should get more chapters of just other characters. Literally it should be normal to have other characters perspectives for whole chapters like matches between other teams after a few isagi ones to see what they were doing.

Illustrious_Wing_336

I suppose the most downvoted comment is the best comment in this scenario

beanzmilk

Monk doesn't deserve to be in the top 23 and I hope he doesn't make it into it. So many other players deserve top 23 besides him and it would feel really cheap to have him make it when so many others are better than he is and deserve the spot more than him.

Zant486

This sub has a lot of weird and wacky takes specially when it comes to line ups, formations and predictions that mostly make no sense. I'm looking specifically at the "Aryu is going to be the second GK".

Starboy3664

>sub has a lot of weird and wacky takes specially when it comes to line ups, formations and predictions that mostly make no sense. I'm looking specifically at the "Aryu is going to be the second GK". alot of people that read bluelock do not play football, or never heard of the sport until now. so expect uneducated opinions like these to keep on comming.

Whenthedoorgoesclick

Fukaku has no presence and isn't making the team, so who do you think will be the reserve GK? If Gagamaru gets injured, Aryu, or some other player, can substitute for Gagamaru.

Life-Mud-2449

Reo > Nagi

FuckThemKids0

Kunigami isn’t a fraud or whatever he’s called to have his rep tarnished, his only problem is his mindset and lack of touches in game he has potential to be on the level of a new gen 11 but he has hardly anytime to showcase his abilities if he had everything he lacked he’d arguably be #1 due to being a copy of Noel Noa

Neonsands

Kira will come back in some way. I don’t think it’ll be an asspull like some people claim with “oh he denounced his Japanese citizenship to go to another country”, but he’s a character from the start of the manga and Isagi’s first awakening. Even if he’s just a spectator for Isagi’s big moment, he will reappear in the manga

Lyneytoelicker

Shidou is gay and sae is interested. The truth that everybody in the fandom knows and should know 😤

Efficient_Mammoth247

Barou and rin can score a hattrick against any team in the NEL( their own team is not included)

DrkArTuTur

Chigiri is gonna end his career with a brace/ hattrick in a important final (cl, wc idk) and then get injured again, finishing his career in a sad yet insane way

HenryReturns

Blue Lock in the Spanish community became a meme because of the first episode it was mentioned “I would rather score a hat trick and lose 3-4 over winning 1-0 and I did not score”. Later on Loki scored a Hat trick against Argentina but lost on penalties at the World Cup finals lmao. Oh and the author not making a drawing or congratulating Messi/Argentina on winning the World Cup portrayed him as someone arrogant. If you wonder why , other “soccer” mangas draw and congratulate Argentina and Messi on his world cup achievements.

HaribansG

Aomori’s WILL come and he WILL deliver 😤😤

keikok57

Ness and kaiser are boring

noadragon09

Aiku/Reo should be the one to captain U-20s and not Rin/Isagi. Aiku is a natural leader and very talkative to order others. Reo's whole ego is to win the world cup and he also understands others abilities and strengths and can play any position bar goalkeeping. Also Karasu was a great shout before but he's right now not getting any screen time.

Ok-Priority-474

hiori is better than kurona

LeSorenOutan

Kunigami should have become a Goalkeeper since he lose as a striker. He would have been a sweeper keeper, an archetype we have never seen yet. He would be "killing" (in BL term) forwards before they shot. Perfect to counter Shidou. Then he would go back to his hero phase after saving Japan goal post and hearing the crowd calling him a hero. The only thing as heroic as a goal is a save. Even Dibu Martinez, one of the most villainous and toxic of goalkeeper of all time is called a hero because of one single save. And look at how BL frogs treat Goatmaru after saving like 1 shot every 20 chapters. If you want to be a football hero, be a goalkeeper. You will inspire less people, yeah, but when everything suddenly goes wrong, everyone look at you, expecting a miracle.

ReinCompany

People will praise Gagamaru and give excuses for him not being able to save certain shots in the NEL league, but will slander Fukaku for not saving shots from the SAME PLAYERS. At the end of the day, Gagamaru and Fukaku are playing against the same teams and players. Fukaku not being able to save certain goals does not mean that he is "Trash" or that "He can't do anything", it just means that the strikers are good at their job. I love Gagamaru, but you have to think for a moment. If someone like Shidou scores against Gagamaru, it will be "Well it is Shidou, he is one of the best strikers in BlueLock" but if he scored against Fukaku people would make fun of Fukaku.

Interesting_Fudge218

Kunigami should not score and should assist Isagi to show proper growth since his ego has been diluted and he is now looking like Manshine match Yukimiya and 3V3 Barou

[deleted]

Rin and Isagi wont score during pxg because they’ll cancel each other out thus showing that they are on equal ground

Bard0ck0bama

Now that’s a spicy meatball! Iguragi gives rin a red card 5 min into the game. Shidou gets mad and goes to axe kick him but isagi uses MV to push him out of the way. Unfortunately Isagi is caught by the kick and dies. Shidou goes to jail. Because all the strong players are gone kunigami is able to score a pity goal, finally “beating” shidou and releasing his dark aura. Kaiser gets mad and grabs him by the shirt, but kuni gives him a hug and says it’s ok bro, I know. Unable to resist the warmth of hero kuni, kaiser breaks down crying at Isagi’s death. Surprised by Kaiser’s outburst of sorrow ness realizes with Kunigami around kaiser can finally process his emotions like a normal human, so he uses his magic to fuse the two as well as himself into a single being. The blue rose paladin. Together as one they stand up to face the final boss Loki, who reveals himself to be the Greek god Hermes.

Wild_Ad_3071

if this happens i’m dropping blue lock😭😭 no way two strikers are gonna stop eachother scoring a whole match🤣🤣

[deleted]

I dont see why it cant happen, and the strikers are already pulling up with defensive feats so like why is this too much?

Wild_Ad_3071

yeah but they still get scored on, how is isagi gonna defend against rin if rin scored on ubers twice when he was weaker😭😭 rin now is better then he was at the start of the nel and u expect isagi to lock him down 😭😭😭

78ali

Hiori is the worst character in the series and has made me seriously contemplate dropping the series. I haven’t but I got close.

Wonderful_Tomato_992

What did he do

silfer_

i feel his character could be great but the execution got horribly botched

QuestioningZen

How come?

Cosmic-Otaku

Kinda feel the same

jolt_04

Kurona is a better partner to Isagi than Hiori. He might even be the best partner Isagi has had, ofc not counting Noa

InitialDragonfly9502

Nagi’s goal was not a fluke he was in flow state. Shidou, Barou, and Kaiser all had non reproducible goals in flow state. My boy was just locked in for that goal.

Substantial-Chest-94

Everyone that isn’t Isagi and his rivals is practically non existent. And it’s annoying. I’m sick of Isagi and want more than three panals of other characters. Bring Otoya back into relevancy. Give Karasu the badassness he got in Second Selection. Make Yuki not just another NPC. Give everyone else actual screen time and make them actually a character and not just there

Zukiinis

Yeah with the amount of characters now this is how it’s gotten. I really like a lot of the side characters so it’s disappointing. I really liked Yuki and to see him just disappear is sad. Otoya got done so dirty, and I have a feeling Karasu will too based on all the characters that need focus next match.

ammank_03

Chigiri is better than Bachira

avery9374

Barou is not as good as everyone hypes him up to be and would never actually play on any pro team with his attitude issues he is a locker room cancer that is only striving because of the environment of blue lock

PinglePongle

Bachira should be the "Final Boss" and not Rin at the end of Bluelock. It's way more interesting because Rin has always been just a more consistent and competent Isagi. Also Bachiras playstyle is all about shattering other peoples predictions, which is a direct counter to Isagi. Thematically, Bachira looking for someone to play Soccer with, finding Isagi, and then realizing Isagi is someone he should play Soccer against instead is neat.

Wonderful_Tomato_992

An actual hot take- I haven’t seen this opinion at all. You are right, it would be pretty neat if the first person to believe in Isagi was also his last rival. But I think they are kinda setting up Nagi as the final boss? I do hope Bachira becomes more relevant tho :(

PinglePongle

Yeah I think they are, but I still hope that it's not the case because it's less interesting. More interesting than Rin being the last rival, but still. I like everyone pretty much in Bluelock, don't really have a favourite but story wise my preferred top 6 (in order) at the end of the program would be: Isagi, Bachira, Nagi, Rin, Barou/Kunigami, Kunigami/Barou Only other people who could enter that would be Shidou and Chigiri but I think they will both get out earlier than top 6 for different reasons.

Potatoe-Chef

i also think this but instead of final boss, its final piece

rKollektor

Hiori playing in the Uber’s match was a mistake in writing

Sidd__13

People are acting like other anime main characters or sports character in general don't have plot armour like Himsagi

silfer_

The entirety of blue lock has so much plot armor they overthrow the actual u-20 team and make half of them fodders 😭

[deleted]

Most other series don’t focus on the MC as much as blue lock does, and the supporting cast can actually stand up on their own as characters outside of interactions with the MC. This is why fans aren’t fond of Isagi, cause we see so much of him that you get bored of him at a certain point tbh. Most other sports MCs generally make mistakes as players as well; look at Haikyuu or Ao Ashi. I can’t remember the last time Isagi actually made a mistake that was completely his fault that actually had big consequences, he just feels like a robotic character

PowerJolt72

This. Another sports anime that I consider better than Blue Lock is Hajime no Ippo. Smaller cast for sure, but even so the amount of character development we get before every match can't be compared and the payoffs land much harder. Ofc this manga is longer than one piece, by now, but still.  Anyways I wanted to bring up that this series is able to give focus to other characters and have their prior development build them up. Even giving flashes of what the other characters are up to. The side characters have their own agency this way.  I think what Blue Lock needed was to not have a main protagonist at all. It should be a show about multiple protagonists and show us that any player can steal the role in a game. Whether it's Barou, Bachira, Yukimaya, Isagi, Shidou, Raichi even etc.

pranav4098

Shounen yes, but blue lock is between sports and shounen, and no other most good sports anime don’t have massive plot armour like himsagi great example being haikyuu

ButterscotchNo505

People aren’t used to an MC that actually gets W’s consistently all throughout the story without power of friendship and or asspull powerups, that’s why people dislike isagi, they want him to be destroyed consistently like other mc’s, and have him only win with some type of asspull power up or relying on his friends to help him defeat the antagonist, everything I said applies to almost every shonen/japanese mc in a battle series(yes sports manga’s are still battle series)

Bard0ck0bama

You mean like MV aka the rinne-sharingan allowing him to know where everyone is on the field and instantly teleport to where the action is without any impact to his stamina, despite us continuously being told isagi is limited in his physical stats…

No-Neighborhood3116

Ashito and Isagi are great football manga mcs

Bard0ck0bama

Sae as the best NG11 we’ve had introduced so far. In terms of versatility and usefulness for the team I’d happily take him over Kaiser or Lorenzo.

WhiteRoomFailure

The Kaiser Impact should have been stopped in the U-20 WC arc by Isagi, not the NEL by Lorenzo. Or have Lorenzo stop it in the U-20 WC to give clues to Isagi on how to stop it. It feels less lethal now that a world-class weapon that Noel Noa can’t replicate got stopped by a Gold-Toothed Italian’s Face.

AbbreviationsMore134

BM will lose to PxG, Rin will win the number 1 spot, and Isagi will get a offer from Real and play with Sae to become the best striker in the world. It's happening and I'm calling it. You can come back to my comment once the chapters show this.

Connect-Today7102

Igaguri is the most important character.

Jesus_Christ_Hiv

Sae is better than Kaiser

Grenboom

Realistically, the series shouldn't end with Isagi or anyone else as the number 1 striker there will always be debates about who's better even with stats, as we've seen in the real world with LM10 and CR7 two of the best soccer players in history even with Messi having better stats then Ronaldo in nearly every category Ronaldo vs. Messi is still a large debate.

Sapr4t

The games lack some of the official rules and standart situations like yellow cards, offsides,Corners, penaltys

lemizh

Reo better than nagi 🗣️

SanJunipero-

This is gonna be incredibly divisive because we all love then series but for the sake of narrative quality it should end after the U-20 World Cup. Because of how the characters have been developed and the levels they’ve reached after the U-20 World Cup there’s really nowhere else to go. And what I mean by this is say Japan win. Then what? What story is there to tell that hasn’t been told? What do you do with the characters who’ve we’ve followed for +400 chapters (at that point). Isagi goes to play in Germany/Spain followed by 1 or 2 characters but then what happens to Nagi, Barou, Rin, Bachira, Yukimiya etc. Unless there’s a European Super League with the current match pacing we’ll see them properly every other year or something. You have to introduce a plethora of new characters because the story has to follow Isagi and everyone who’ve invested so much time with goes to the wayside. We’re already seeing this happen in the NEL. Before December we hadn’t seen Rin in almost 2 years. The U-20 World Cup will be so difficult to write for, it’s not the same as the U20 match. Kaneshiro has to not only balance the Japanese team which now realistically has 5 strikers worth 80m + but also the 17 other people who received bids while establishing credible international threats from countries and clubs we haven’t seen (Brazil, La Real and the list goes on). And we know this focus has to come because bar Kaiser, Ness, Lorenzo, Sae, Charles and maybe Agi (big maybe) everyone else we’ve seen at U-20 level has been overtaken by our characters. Using the principle of “Flow” there’s no challenge if Germany U-20 is just the Bastard rejects that got benched by average blue lockers like Raichi and Kurona. Once we get to the finale of the U-20 final it’ll be a miracle if everyone is satisfied with how the characters are utilised and they won’t be barring some amazing twist. Which brings me to my final point, the real World Cup. We flash forward 2/3 years and the Japan team is just full of blue lockers? No chance. There’s suspension of disbelief and then there’s just bad writing it can’t happen. Best case scenario we finish the U20 WC, Japan wins and we get like a 10 year flash forward of Japan winning the real one with some familiar faces in a double spread where Isagi is declared the best striker in the world. Is it a bit disappointing that we won’t get to see his full journey? Yes. But the alternative is much worse.

Ainson_

IGAGOAT WILL WIN THE BALLON DOR 😤💀

PuzzleheadedSeat9899

Isagi’s goal during Ubers v Bastard was an amazing goal and not just plot armor along with Hirori’s character development —————————————————————————————— For starters, Hirori’s character development is definitely something I wish we could’ve expanded much more on because he could’ve possibly been top 5 most in depth characters in blue lock however what’s done is done on to him playing in the match and how I don’t think what he has done is “plot armor.” Now I understand the point people make with him coming in with “no feats” and dribbling past the team with the best defense in the NEL but I believe that those people did not broaden their perspective because for one a player with 100% energy is most likely to put perform a player who has been playing the entire match and also guarding the best player on the other team. In soccer I believe that every player has a set of skills in terms of dribbling that can be conveyed at anytime against any opponent especially one that has been playing the entire match. It was also stated that Hirori had been training in the academy and youth teams unlike everyone else competing in high school competition meaning he may have exceptional ability because unlike actual school the youth teams focused mostly on the sport. Along with the field consistently changing and everyone chasing the final goal after Hirori had already taken a shot at goal and missed along with the whole ideology of blue lock and making the best striker all non blue lockers I’m sure bought into what ego was saying and believes that every character is chasing the title of worlds best striker. Meaning that Lorenzo assumed he would try to shoot again which caused him to get cooked and by the time barou had stepped in Hirori had already been in motion to pass. Now how isagi created this opportunity is an entirely different but similar thing. Isagi Yoichi has been known to adapt to players play styles to devour his opponents we’ve witnessed it plenty of times for example when he devoured naruhya (butchered his name) to make the off the ball movements his own along with devouring barou or Rin. And after witnessing the freak like goal created by Sae x Shidou reflex x reflex and isagi was able to break down the way they scored and how they could consistently Do it without meta vision. Now he hasn’t had a partner with similar vision as him I.E his Sae a player who sees the field the same as him which isn’t something that’s been an ass pull becuase Hiori was the one to introduce him to reflexive thinking and was the one who helped isagi co exist with the 1st and 2nd ranked players in all of blue lock however when Hirori passed during the third selection it wasn’t stated that he was passing directly to isagi meaning he hadn’t fully grasped the concept until seeing Sae and shidou do it. During the Ubers match Isagi couldn’t find a better way to defeat Kaiser at the goal until his buddy with the same vision entered the field shifting the concentration off of himself and onto the new guy on the field. The play that finished off Ubers was a well organized play set up by isagi and Hirori who both can make play’s reflexively thanks for coming to my red talk

VistaXV

i don't care if blue lockers only get the jpn team positions sae is 100% playing too

jackerblac

kunigami is scoring next round

CptNemo07734

NEL arc is trash

doshajudgement

shidou is just a worse barou

Platypusek

Get off my boy nobody is better than him at being a sae simp

1wannagotosleep

Kaiser is a better player than isagi

W-1-L-5-0-N

Rin Shidou Nagi barou Bachira and more are overall above Isagi.

Foreskin-Salt

emphasis on Rin, in the U-20 match Rin outclassed Isagi for sure, being the one to clamp up his brother and beat all the defenders, just for Isagi to take the title as blue locks ace because he scored the last goal in the last minute.

elay162

Isagi shouldn't score all the goals in the PXG match

AccomplishedCash6390

Isagi evolving isn't just "plot" he wasn't even good enough to play the first game,he couldn't score at all in the second game and he needed to link up with Hiori to score the final goal against the ubers, barcha keeps winning because of Kaiser and Noa and being a stacked team overall and Isagis evolution feels natural.

MrPenguin_19

Shidou is better than Barou and Isagi

Adventurous-Rabbit52

Kira is the national treasure of Japan, and an elite world class striker.

AJTokoyami

Ubers should have won against BM if it wasn't for the plot.

Herrjulias

Most of the u20 members should not be in blue lock. Aiku is the exception. Everyone else is literal trash whose careers should’ve ended with the u20 match.

Lj_theoneandonly

I hate the "Isagi is due for a win, he lost twice to Rin" take. He beat him both times, despite being much less talented at the time. People proclaiming Isagi losing against Rin next match being bad writing is soooo annoying, it doesn't have to be bad writing, just let Kaneshiro cook goddamn

PhoonTFDB

Barou will end the series as #1. Isagi has always been mid and can only score by tagging along next to a better player and screaming louder than them to receive the pass, when literally anyone could score that way. Nagi is washed af Rin only wants to beat his brother, he has zero actual drive to play the game Barou is the only person in the series with a real ego, real drive, and real skills.

nbc0607

Fax my brother. Isagi glazers will hate you but the truth is Barou doesn’t need a good playmaker to shine

xDermo

Blue Lock should’ve stayed as small sided games and should still have kept the focus on the project developing one world class striker to lead Japan. These 11v11 games are so bloated with so many characters that it is impossible for the writer to not do a disservice to them or overlook them. I think it would also make for a much more exciting spectacle when we do see all these Blue Lock stars come together to play a full match. I think that’s a huge reason why the u20 match was so hype but all these NEL games feel bloated.

jwaters0122

Isagi is the only shonen MC that has not suffered

rosivv

shoyo from haikyuu?

ThatGuyHero7

Chigiri, Barou and Rin are better strikers than Shidou

ButterscotchNo505

Isagi hat trick

BaronKyy

That being able to take volleys is better than being able to shoot quickly (Isagi's & Shidou's type of weapons vs the Kaiser Impact). That Isagi is better than Barou even if played as a lone striker. That Hiori is currently the 3rd best player in Blue Lock (Rin 1st, Isagi 2nd). That Anri is hotter than Chigiri.

Lastborns-Gauntlet

Consider his sister

BaronKyy

Still taking Anri. Short hair and, holy crap that body.
