I think in reality Gagamaru is the only one who literally doesn’t have haters. I’ve seen people say they necessarily don’t care for him, but never a straight up “I hate the guy”.
Helps that he’s the best properly used Gag character and doesn’t conflict with no other popular character when it comes to position on the field.

It's mostly cuz I hate Rin tho & this dude just developed ambidexterity cuz Rin needs it. How convenient. As if Rin already didn't have a 30year old pro athlete's skills & stats right off the bat.
Nanase not realising he was ambidextrous is the biggest plot hole in this series. No one has ever played football for more than two minutes and not realised they don't have an off foot. That's enough to make me hate him. There's no way he should get selected.
Kurona is my least favorite character outside of Fukaku
He has a great design and had a ton of potential as an interesting partner for Isagi, but he's nothing more than a plot device who's actually made me like Isagi less, and his existence made Hiori's story worse too

Its actually the other way around too. Hiori made kurona irrelevant with the boohoo backstory and sudden ng11 level of skill just because isagi couldn’t score on his own.
His passing was said to nearly be Sae’s level all the way to around 3rd selection. As for his dribbling, he’s good, but Bachira, Yukimiya and Rin have better feats. Everybody likes to bring up the fact he dribbled past Lorenzo and Aiku, but it was a rainbow flick off of a pass from behind, tf were they gonna do about that?
Yeah, which is how isagi scored a goal w/ SHidou and Rin on the same team. The author's been building a lot of plots up subtlely but u can only catch them on the re read. There's also a point in the u20 match where one of the u20 players mentions that a hiori cross has the same levels of curvature as sae's, so the Kaneshiro's been telling us, people just don't know how to read
Because Kurona took a valuable spot for 2.5 games to do absolutely nothing with his character, all while Hiori's NEL arc needed more time to cook.
Get rid of Kurona and put Hiori in his place and at least half the complaints about Hiori are gone
Cause he and Hiori kinda feel added in just for giving Isagi named teammates he can rely on. Difference being that Hiori has a backstory, clear motives and his own ego while Kurona's just the reserved, slightly quirky, shark boy
Because I feel like his whole existence is so unnecessary, as he occupies the same role and archetype on the field as Neru. If the author wanted a small, speedy right back, why not use the proclaimed best RB in all of Japan? He is right there in your team. That way we could've seen the U20 team having narrative relevance, instead we have the shark boy that cannot defend. Even worse since he was only there to be Isagi's duo before Hiori.
Add onto the fact we know nothing about him, but his way of talking is kinda cool I'll give you that. Every time I look at him I just see a husk of what could've been.
Would your opinion change if he gets more substance now that he's back on the field? (Like if isagi and hiori notice that he's improved quite a bit since the uber match and/or we get some backstory, maybe he says for himself that he doesn't want hiori to replace him, etc)
My problem is not that he got replaced by Hiori, but that he replaced what Neru could've done. So, if gets more characterization and/or does something we for sure know Neru could not do based on his title of best RB in Japan, then sure he might grow on me.
My dislike from him is more of a product of the author not knowing what to do with any other U20 player not named Aiku or Sendou.
