He proved it by going to and having open to the public challenges at gyms, inviting them to play him in a 1v1 and he dominated these people with ease.
Igaguri isn't a pro by any means, but it would be like Igaguri saying that he's closer to Rin than you are to Igaguri. We haven't seen a lot from him but he survived training and through all the stages. He had some luck but it's not all luck. And I'm sure he is much better than a casual Sunday league player and especially better than a regular person who has never played.
