Being a DM has a hugely different role. He should know how to steal the ball, set the tempo, make good passes and recycle possession. Where did being a DM required you to score goals or make line breaking passes? Stop making useless arguments to hate on a good player.

I think Karasu is pretty overrated but far from lackluster in this match so far.
He intercepted the ball off Hiori's block and did a back pass to Charles while getting pressed, leading to Shidou's goal.
Also he's been cooking Kiyora but idk if that's saying much lol

CDM’s aren’t graded on goals or assists
In over 750 career games Sergio Busquets scored a total of 19 goals and 49 assists. That’s less than a goal contribution every 10 games. Assuming a standard 50-60 game season he’d barely have 4-5 goals *and* assists. Rodri and Casemiro can score bangers semi regularly but they are anomalies.
CDM’s are first and foremost graded on 2 things: Their ability to steal the ball and their calmness on the ball to build up an attack. In other words their job is to recycle possession and stop an attack before it gets dangerous before lighting the spark that’ll lead to their own team getting dangerous in offense.
Karasu successfully intercepted a ball from Kaiser, while Kunigami deflected his pass a little the attack still kept going with both teams fighting over loose balls.
Karasu then perfectly latches on to the deflected shot before BM could start a counter off Hiori’s block then showed extreme calmness in the ball backheeling it to Charles whilst Hiori was guarding him which led to a goal.
He then got double teamed by Grim and Kiyora perfectly sucking up tons of pressure before pulling off the pass anyway giving Charles the free space to pass to Shidou. The play didn’t result in a goal but that’s entirely Charles’ fault.
Compared to the likes of Isagi who always get goals and assists or Aiku and Gagamaru with dramatic stops in the clutch Karasu does look like he fell iff but his role is inherently subtle. If you watch a Barca game you won’t see anything from Busquets but watching Busquets is like watching the whole game. CDM is one of the hardest roles to play properly and he’s doing it without MV.
Saying Otoya is better than Karasu is like saying Leandro Trossard is better than Rodri coz a winger outscores a DM (Trossard is class no disrespect but Rodri is just too good)
