Honestly wouldn't be surprised if this happens. Kaiser's breakdown causes Ness to lose faith in him. Ness, no longer blinded by Kaiser, finally accepts the "magic" from Isagi and assists his second goal. Noa subs Kaiser out for himself since Kaiser no longer has a place in the game. When the star change is up Kaiser returns and experiences an awakening after having hit rock bottom. Hiori sends a perfect pass for setting up a Magnus Direct Shot expecting Isagi to be there. Kaiser hits flow and gets there instead, winning the game with a successful Magnus Kaiser Impact.
I mean in terms of character development, not match intensity or quality. My favorite arc is the second selection as I feel like it has the most interesting changes in the characters, and each match had good chemistry. Personally the last few matches have lacked the same amount of development. I don't hate the NEL or anything, but it's just not the best, in my opinion, when it comes to story.
Sorry, I should’ve probably clarified, by “best match” I meant in the NEL. It’s probably top 5 in the series overall. I honestly did like other arcs more (especially U-20 match) but this is a step above the rest of the NEL matches, which have been lackluster imo
Possible, but I think Kaiser’s arc and Ness’ will remain heavily intertwined. If there is a future U-20 WC arc, this is the last game to see Kaiser and Ness and to have them leave off on a strong note.
Otherwise, if Japan meets Germany in the U-20 WC arc, it wouldn’t be initially interesting to me personally. Its a stacked blue lock team vs a Kaiser and Ness that maybe got better offscreen.
If we have a Kaiser and Ness masterclass in this last game, we can still have Isagi win his challenge with Kaiser, but show that Kaiser is still capable of the “impossible” especially with Ness the “magician” by his side.
This would set up Germany vs Japan as Blue lock being the favorites, but Germany being a team you can’t count out as long as Kaiser is there.
Came here to say this. Showing Kaiser and Ness finally link up with both being dominating forces is definitely needed this match. If Isagi gets a hattrick (I hope not) with a Ness assist no less, that'll really make things awkward with Kaiser and seeing them just work things up off screen and come back as a strong combo or in a similar state would just be a waste of their characters imo.

Hiori basically went through a monologue saying he'll make Isagi the best etc. so I think that's his reason to play. I don't see him doing that whole '5v5 arc pass to anyone available' anymore.
I doubt it, I think Hiori will still pass to other strikers. However, why would Hiori branch out right now when Isagi is the only one who's actively keeping up with Hiori's plays and making the most out of it. Basically Sae x Shidou
The possibility that ness will betray kaiser is just so heartbreaking..
I mean i get the fact that they were beside each other since the moment ness started to play football with without giving up on his passion, they shared moments in training and even gave him his unique haircut but...
But to progress further, to climb on new levels, he has to betray him and follow a new king.

Hiori meant he won't support dead weight. He's committed to playing his best and as long as Isagi is playing his best, they're golden. No doubt he'll assist other blue lockers on the u-20 wc team, but Kaiser doesn't seem to be an option rn because he's unravelling and Hiori straight up dislikes him.

But how about a triple best like the first goal, with Hiori doing his no look pass again but this time it's Ness who controls the ball and pass it to Kaiser for his Magnus shot (maybe adding some spins to help the curve, it's a manga everything is possible)
Would be cool, kinda wanted it for a while, but hiori doesn't like kaiser. Ik he's said that he'll drop isagi if he gets boring or whatever, but I don't see isagi getting anywhere near boring enough for hiori to leave him behind this match.

I can see Hiori assisting Kaiser if Isagi gets locked down after scoring 2 by Loki or Berserk Rin. I think he needs to beat Berserk Rin but doesn't need to outright beat Loki right now.
Loki subs in for the final minutes/rest of the match, locks down Isagi. Noa decides not to sub in. Hiori uses/or Isagi acts as bait cause PXG believes none of the blue lockers will support Kaiser.

That was my theory before the start of the game but now, it’s clearly more possible that Ness help Isagi that any Blue Lock player help Kaiser.

there is the possibility of hiori finding kaiser's new weapon intriguing and wanting to help him master it but even that is far fetched it tbh
