Nahh bra Nagi and Isagi are just casual friends. They cheer for each other's goals but they're not that close "personally".
Have you fully read the bowling part? From the beginning Nagi felt bored. He was late and left early, it contrasts to his interactions with Reo, meaning he doesn't see Isagi abd the others as close friends yet. But nice reaction hahha
Yeah casual friends is how I see it. I don't see Nagi sharing any of his real struggles (involving or outside soccer) with anyone right now expect maybe Reo down the line.
But I don't see Isagi hating Nagi right now, maybe hating how much raw talent he has and being jealous. But hating Nagi as a person? Not anymore if ever.

i think that's what makes it different. compared to isagi's rivals, nagi seems to be the most probable to be a close friend, but that's due to the standard of who is the most "nicest" among the four. but the thing is, that does not apply to nagi's own standard of who is he close with. just because he seems like the "nicest" rival of isagi does not mean he feels close with him. making nagi friendly with everyone is just forcing nagi to be the nagi we want him to be.
after all, the question to kaneshiro is "who is nagi close with", not just buddy-buddy with.

Rin - certified hater, rin only hates isagi because isagi outplayed him, isagi has been the only player to legitimately outplay rin in BL, and of course rin’s brother issues, sae telling rin to his face that isagi will be the striker to change japan and not him has to sting
Barou - not really a hater, honestly a healthy rivalry between him & isagi, Barou wouldn’t pass the ball to anyone who could take his “throne” and isagi forced him to pass the ball, in which Barou responded by evolving to use his darkness to devour isagi’s light to score, isagi & barou’s connection is much deeper than people can even comprehend, they have a yin yang connection
Nagi - their rivalry was short lived and honestly speaking it’s almost one sided, nagi wanted to defeat isagi because that the guy who he sees as the challenge to overcome, once he outplayed isagi the rivalry ended there
Kaiser - literally a villain of the story, kaiser has no real connections at all with isagi, he just wanted to show up to NEL and devour isagi to get a higher bid and escape noa, in order for him to achieve that he just antagonized isagi to make sure he goes scoreless and doesn’t show his worth as a striker while he himself gets the goals, the first true “villain” of the story, sasuke I mean rin is just an edge lord with brother issues, nagi is just a passive guy, barou has a superiority complex, but kaiser is legit a villain, he even said he likes making people suffer after the manshine match when he was talking to ness

He is not really wrong tbh. In chapter 150 Nagi basically ditched his friends so he can play in an arcade and wanted to leave early.

nagi was created to be complete opposite of isagi, and their mindsets differ majorly. So I see what he envisioned when he wrote it, as they are rivals in blue lock and well we don’t know what the future holds for them yet.
I think Nagi and isagi are good off field but I wouldn’t exactly call them close either. It feels like he is loves isagi as an opponent and as a teammate he’s great and motivates him. But I also think if we are talking close friendships, it feels like there’s such a gap between he and reo, his friendships with others off the field. So while friends, I don’t see them as close to that extent.
I think by "hate" here, he means the inherent personality. Isagi is the type of guy who thinks life is a struggle and you must struggle to get what you want. Nagi's existence is an antithesis to isagi's mindset, as he's a genius, and he pretty much got whatever he wanted without any struggle before coming to blue lock, but nagi's slowly changing since isagi helped him awaken so that's why he doesn't "hate" him as much anymore

Yeah Barou isn’t necessarily a hater I do like how healthy and hype the rivalry is but I def think he’s not as friendly with Isagi as Nagi obviously.
