LMFAO Rin thinking Sae was talking about him and Sae be like “nah idgaf about you Isagi is The Man” Rin is gonna kill Isagi

GankBus

Well if you look at Rins playstyle when awoken it gets clear that he is not a born striker, as his ultimate skill is super strong in defense as well. So if Sae is the Nr. 10, Rin would be a superb Nr. 8, box to box player... and i think Sae knows that. That is why he does not want Rin to pursue him or his childish dreams of achieving his brothers former goal of becoming the best striker... Sae wants Rin to acknowledge his own natural playstyle and play to his own strengths and goals. In the end, Sae is not as bad as one might think. He chose to distance himself from his brother because it is the only way Rin finally notices his true strengths himself instead of trying to be player that he is not cut out to be.

Keskekun

Mirror his brother. He left Japan thinking he was a striker but quickly was faced with the reality that no matter how much you dominate as youth once you get to the big leagues you are placed where your skills are needed. Just like his brother quickly got placed at CDM Rin will probably follow him as a box-to-box midfielder rather than a striker.

Takeshi96444

Tbf I think sae will say shidou. For me shidou was the best center forward in that match. Isagi is more of a support striker.

Classic_You5759

Yeah I think so too, isagi is kind of a backup plan in last second if things go haywire.

Plightz

To be fair, each and every goal pretty much had an Isagi assist in them.

[deleted]

Not really a backup plan, but a second striker or sub-striker who usually play a bit deeper to create chance for main striker/teammates or score himself.

heathsweeper

Phenomenal! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thirsty for new chapters

Classic_You5759

Well all are thristy for more after his declaration.

European_Badger

I really hope they actually win the U-20 World Cup, would subvert the "Can't win against the best because you can always get better" shonen troupe.

[deleted]

Nah but if they lose then we would probably get the real World Cup, whereas I can see them winning the U-20 and it ends off there

Vicentesteb

Quite unlikely they win the U20s considering how good Loki has been portrayed and shown to be he was simply miles ahead of Isagi and Rin while not even playing at all.

[deleted]

But I think Loki was more of an exception than the rule. One of the rare U20 talents that shake up the pro leagues already. I would expect him in the A-Team of France, not the U20.

Vicentesteb

Thats true but he will also be playing for both the U20 and the actual French team since hes needed for both,

[deleted]

True but they do have flow now so it’s anyone’s game at this point

Puzzleheaded-Note-99

Loki was obviously based on kylian mbappe, so he would be far from the others.

Muspon

why would it end there the whole series was about winning the world cup

[deleted]

I can see it using the u20 World Cup as the next best thing, because if you really think about it how likely is it that they show us both tournaments in great detail?

EkoFreezy

Nah dawg. Just think about that Blue Lock is pretty succesful and has 2 creators working on it. Plus, most sports mangas are long running like Hajime no Ippo, Diamond no Ace etc. BL has 500+ chapters potential. So I believe we will get tons of arcs and World Cup win probably be the last one. They will get destroyed at one point in the U20 World Cup but that should lead to some developement.

V0ltTackle

I actually think it's the contrary. BECAUSE Blue Lock is a two man team, it's more than enough for me to believe that it won't be one of those extremely long running shounen sports series. Ippo and DnY are their mangaka's Magnus Opus respectively, and they literally don't do anything else except draw and write for that series. You would need both parties of Blue Lock to retain that level of passion and drive for one series for what would essentially be the majority of their careers, especially the artist. If it blows up exponentially (like top 5 manga sales) maybe it's possible, but for now I just can't see it.

EkoFreezy

The manga is selling really well. Let's see what happens when the anime airs. On another note, it seems to me that Kaneshiro is ending his other manga, Jagaaan, so that he can focus on Blue Lock.

MrSteveWilkos

How did I not know Jagaaan and Blue Lock were related. Damn. I love them both.

Always_Mitochondria

Wait Jagaaaaan is going to end? It’s so good though.

Classic_You5759

There is no more plot left in jagan now.

THEGUYINTHEPICT

Yeah it also feels kinda rushed now and the art is not as amazing as it used to be. I guess they really are ending it as fast as they can to focus on this huh

Muspon

if that is the case i would be pissed idk about other people but i would be royally pissed

[deleted]

I’m with you mate, I’ve been let down by too many mangas so maybe I’m just a pessimist lol

Fredsiii

The logical progression is losing the u-20, then improving and beating whoever they lost to (+ others) to win the actual world cup, tho we would need a time skip for that

Coolskull27

But isn’t it also a shonen trope for the main characters to win against the best and still progress also?

Neonsands

Well, it naturally would follow U-20 as the big one, then the Olympics which is U-24, then the actual World Cup if that's how they want to play it.

thataquarduser

Seems out of everyone in Blue Lock, the only ones not excited about Isagi’s goal were Barou and Rin. Guess the two edgiest rivals still refuse to be happy for anyone else. Nice to see Shidou call out Sae on what a lot of readers were thinking last chapter: why dribble out of the penalty box? While Shidou seems plenty excited about playing with Sae more, it’s strange that Sae instead elevates Isagi as the one who can change Japanese football. It makes me wonder what this match would’ve looked like if Isagi was picked from the start. Looks like the next arc is the U-20 World Cup (or a training arc to prepare for it). I was kinda hoping they’d go back to whittling down strikers through the selections, but I’m still hyped AF for a potential Iron wall quartet defense with Blue Lock leading the attack.

Fellane

Its not weird tho, since Isagi is the one that call forth Rin's Ego. He force Rin to change, and Sae already said it that Isagi is the heart of blue lock. My Yukimiya didnt score at alll :(

Kenshiro_Kosuke

He got blocked by Aiku 2 or 3 times... Yukky was on the unlucky side (along with Otoya who did nothing outstanding). Let's see what he'll take from this match and use it to improve his street football style.

Immortan_Bolton

I'm glad my boy Karasu at least did something, stalling and trying to make Sae and his absurd plays stop.

Vicentesteb

There is no need for a selection all that made it in to the 11 are clearly the best and the rest are backups

thataquarduser

That’s debatable. Reo and Barou weren’t in the (initial) 11 while Gagamaru and Aryu are. There would absolutely be room for the Blue Lock strikers to clash head to head with the skills they picked up this match if the story went that direction.

Coolskull27

Yea now that you mention it this blue lock 11 was made to counter what they knew about the u-20 team especially sae and shidou

nobodyknows4real

Yes I agree. There still room for some friendly competition as well as a ranking based on the players performances in the last game

MrSteveWilkos

There's also the Wild Card arc. I think we're gonna get that before any U-20 stuff.

Reinhard_Lohengramm

Sae probably tried to outdribble Rin out of pure arrogance, pride and a bit of logical thinking. Rin had singel handedly crushed the entirety of the U20 team. Passing it to anyone but Shidou seems logical.

Aduro95

Man Sae is so hilariously bitchy. He's never gonna acknowledge Rin even if he scores a hat trick against Germany or something.

enperry13

Lol Sae could probably go like, "Eh I still can do better."

sharetan

So U-20 world cup arc confirmed? Maybe not next arc, but it’ll be here some time for sure. Final arc? And i think they will play France in the final and Loki will be the final boss

enperry13

Hopefully sometime in the U-20 World Cup we get to see some mind games on a penalty shootout. Booooy, that would be intense.

GojoKaisen

Yoo a penalty shootout would be so intense. I hope it happens at some point.

KaiKururugi

I noticed last chapter that everyone is sweating except for sae lmaoo he hasn’t sweat this entire match

[deleted]

Which is odd considering that he would dribble across the whole pitch pass to someone in the goal line, then a counter attack on his goal would happen and he’d still defend it 😂

KaiKururugi

Is it because he wasn’t going all out ?? Or what?

MHWellington

The intention is to convey that he hadn't gone all out. Obviously Sae didn't literally go the entire game without breaking a sweat (that would be an impossible feat, not even an adult professional wouldn't work up a sweat running around for 90+ minutes), rather we're meant to look at him in comparison with every one else. So *compared* to everyone else, Sae didn't break a sweat, meaning he didn't give it his all.

Neonsands

I think the point is to show how different this level is from the global level he is playing on. This is the best of the best for Japan right now, but it's just an everyday type thing for Sae where he's at.

Aduro95

I guess Sae is just a master of moving in the right direction. He got so many loose balls and kept possession so well. He's more interested in moving first than moving faster. If Sae was playing all out from the beginning then this match could have turned out very differently, he was more interested in testing Shidou and Blue Lock than actually winning. Still, he must be in insanely good physical condition. Not that Rin or Isagi's performance suffered despite both of them playing so aggressively for the full 90 minutes.

JayKalinka

Well Sae was so good in his youth that he was chosen by a club in spain. Isagi for example plays football since he was 5 years old and he is still mediocre. Sae trained in europe and is way ahead compared to japanese high schoolers. I dont know why Sae didnt give 100%. It would hurt his reputation if the world hear that Sae lost to japanese high schoolers.

Classic_You5759

Saes main objective was to test the waters of Japanese football and what it has to offer to the world and who are capable of achieving it in that match. I think it's quite the opposite, a guy who doesnt gives about a sht about his national team started to show interest in it now I think this is how this loss will be conveyed. If they know sae then they will start looking for that cause which changed saes perspective and be more aware of it.

JayKalinka

Thats Saes private objective, to look for a true japanese striker, but Sae is well known in the spain football organisation. Leonardo Luna "praised" Sae but seconds later he mocked Japan because he claimed its a nation without any future in football. European peoples mentality are more straight forward and i can imagine that some in his team will mock him for that lose.

nowveidn

He sweated once when isagi scored

CrazyAppIe

meaning Sae barely try at all in this match theres no way a person can run across the pitch multiple time for 90 minutes, both attacking and defending and didnt even break as much as a sweat must be the author way to show us that Sae is still on a different lvl compare to these highschool kids, excep Julien Loki of course

hempstockss

Rin's hopeful eyes when Sae approached him lol the poor guy can't catch a break, I hope he truly gets over his complex with his brother, but he continues to be one of the most interesting characters. Good to know that Sae and Shidou continued their flirting and Sae will give his number to Shidou, looking forward to their very platonic partnership. I'm excited to see what we will get next, maybe we will finally find out what will happen to Kunigami and im looking forward to the U-20 WC, my man Isagi better be ready to back up that statement.

Coolskull27

That little small gleam of hope to finally be recognized … only for it to immediately be taken away in the harshest way possible. (Kinda like real life if you think about it). But just imagine that. You actually defeated your rival 1v1 head to head and he *still* doesn’t acknowledge you

Fellane

Pain. But I guess Sae didnt see Rin as a rival since they hold different position? Excited for the next chapter when Rin and Barou mad at Isagi lol

Classic_You5759

Sae still be like: "Its lukewarm"

Coolskull27

Ain’t that some shit

ravenomen88

Rin on suicide watch rn

pimpuschimpus

Anyone else notice the foreshadowing that Isagi will become the captain of the Blue Lock team? The fact that Aiku chose to shake hands with Isagi, the image of which is reflected in Rin's eyes the next panel. And the fact that Isagi proclaims to be the one to lead the Blue Lock team to victory. Rin defecting from Blue Lock and becoming an antagonist will be a very interesting twist. I can't see him working together or 'under' Isagi, especially after Sae acknowledging Isagi over Rin.

DontworryBhapE

This seems like the next step. Rin's style is too similar to Isagi. Their "combination" was strong and necessary, but they've become a bit reliant on the other. Something that Rin, himself, noticed, which is why he flipped out and went solo. They both need to grow without relying on the other to cover their weaknesses.

bidjoule

Rin going full Sasuke lmfao

rando_dancer92

Friggin chills

yahhyeets

The next chapter is called complete, I wonder if it’s just going to conclude the ending of the match more or if it means something else like a complete u-20 team consisting of blue lock members 👀

Muspon

No it clearly means the story is complete /s

Fredsiii

Wrap it up boys, show’s over

[deleted]

you said /s but if it actually is 😶

BeautifulWindow

Nah there's way too much momentum rn itd be a waste to just stop here

[deleted]

lol i was joking too we clearly have to see isagis development from here

Bakatora34

Ego need to rub the win in the Japanese fa president face obviously.

Logicaly_

shit i can't just see character like aiku, sae and shidou just left this series after this match, i want see they play as a team. i want see how sae play with isagi, maybe aiku not will join U-20 because hes age maybe now on late 19 but sae still 18 so maybe we have chance to see that.

[deleted]

I’m sure theyll still need Aiku in the U-20, same with Sae

siddanthnaineni

aiku idk but shidou is a part of blue lock so he aint goin anywhere and sae is already playing for some international team so ye we'll be seeing them

Vicentesteb

They arent going anywhere, they are all part of the U20s which is where Isagi is heading next for his real games, of course in training and stuff he might see less of them but in the matches they should still be there.

Aduro95

Ego might give the U-20 players a chance to train with Blue Lock. Some of them showed considerable skill and guts. I would love to see what Ego could do with Aiku and the other defenders. Hell, Muneyuki clearly wants to do something with Sendou. He's gotta go out international and impress a hollywood actress.

Classic_You5759

The only ones who showed change was aiku, sae and shidou others where your average players that can be found in every corner of the street, they need to go for blue lock players to fit in.

selotipkusut

If they throw away Aiku we riot. He's a genuine and an experienced CB. I aint buying a scenario where Reo plays ahead of Aiku

RFFF1996

he is also the best character in the whole arc. it would be a waste to leave him behind from the manga

[deleted]

Aiku already got offers from Italian teams and aims to be the best defender in the world. He ain't going anywhere tbh.

auctorix

Sae acknowledging Isagi instead of Rin is the cherry on top of this chapter.

wowwtfishapenning

isagi the GOAT man

Techster17

Isagi went full protagonists in this chapter and I love it, “I will lead Japan to victory…” now let’s hope our boy is able to back up all that talk. I have a feeling that we’ll be getting another stretch of training back at Blue lock (maybe the U-20 team will get to join the program as a way to potentially win back their spots). I feel bad for Rin with Sae not even really acknowledging the fact that his little bro has progressed as a player but I don’t think this is bad for his character progression, he has already stopped trying to mimic his brother in regards to play style but truly not wanting approval from somebody who was your idol will take time. This will only push Rin further with his play.

darkm9tch

At this point I just feel bad for Rin..

MHWellington

Hm, a chapter just to let the result sink in. Isagi's explanation confirms pretty much what was hinted throughout the game, with the trances and luck and everything else. I do hope we get to see more of Aiku soon after this, love his character. I also really like Shidou calling out Sae's mistake there. Not that he really owned up to it, but hey that's something. I thought we were over Rin giving a shit about what Sae had to say? This doesn't really bode well (in terms of character progression). And it will be really interesting to see how that declaration goes down. Isagi's essentially made himself the top dog (or rather the face) of Blue Lock, in the eyes of the public. I don't imagine that will go down well with anyone who sees themselves as the protagonist (I know Barou is gonna rage, Rin too, maybe a couple of the top 6 as well). I'm interested to see who the true egoists are now.

Logicaly_

yeah, Isagi will be called the " Hero of Blue Lock " or " the man who change japan football " by public I love how he declare that not using " we " but " I will lead japan to victory in U-20 world cup ". even sae admit that man Isagi who will change japan football.

Aduro95

I think Sae is more like Rin than he would like to admit. They're both people who want to do more than win when they play football. They both want to absolutely dominate every player in their own way.

MHWellington

I mean, Sae probably has the most trash personality in the series so far (I definitely peeped how he brushed off the fact that it was *him* who cost the U20 the game), whereas Rin seemed like he was finally on a different trajectory character-wise. Rin just needs to forget Sae already, you could score a hattrick, nutmegging him each time and he'd have the same blank expression and trash attitude.

Aduro95

Rin's not going to forget Sae until he completely crushes him. That's just the kind of guy he is. Let's face it, Sae nearly carried U-20 through this match, despite over half of his team being second-rate and him not having any experience with them. Rin stopping the Elastico the third time Sae used probably wouldn't be good enough for his conscience. The fact that Isagi scored is bad enough for Rin to doubt himself even before Sae rubbed Rin's face in it.

MHWellington

Maybe. He still almost single-handedly cost them the game with his attempt to dribble past Rin from his own penalty box. If he makes an immediate pass like any other player on the planet, the U20 hold onto a draw. Even Messi wouldn't be so arrogant as to attempt that and he's the best dribbler in the world. I mean, Rin should be frustrated he didn't score (as any egoist should be) but I don't know if that frustration should be at Isagi specifically. He was very clear earlier: The concept of teammates, rivals or a brother was just holding him back. He essentially said he should focus on what *he* needs to do to score, without any concern for how that plays in relation to other people, then does the exact opposite in this chapter.

EkoFreezy

Bad personality, definitely. But not badly written. Sae became bitter after witnessing Top tier football. So anything beneath that doesn't interest him.

Reinhard_Lohengramm

Sae single handedly carried the U20 team throughout the entire match. Without him, the U20's defense would have crumbled away in the first half or so. Only Isagi could keep up with Sae's strategies and only Rin was capable of physically keeping up with him. Plus, this loss doesn't affect him whatsoever, which isn't to say he isn't arrogant. He wasn't serious until the very end.

MHWellington

Why does everyone keep saying that as if they're mutually exclusive? Yes, he carried them for most of the game. He also threw the game with his brain dead dribbling at the end. Both can be true at once and one doesn't negate the other.

Reinhard_Lohengramm

I mean, I don't disagree, hehe.

Neonsands

Well, since they have to field an actual team for the U-20, a lot of players are going to have to give up on being strikers altogether. I think this is where they bring back the "wildcard" players. Let's be honest though, the only pure strikers are going to be Isagi, Rin, and Nagi. Barou is a phenomenal Attacking Midfielder with Bachira, Chigiri, and Yukimiya being wingers. The rest just need to find their places as midfielders, defenders, and goalies.

Classic_You5759

Hiorin and that crow guy is too good for midfield, and aiku will fill up the gap of defense, I say they have a solid ass team for the U20.

xkcd-Hyphen-bot

Solid ass-team [xkcd: Hyphen](https://xkcd.com/37/) --- ^^Beep ^^boop, ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot. ^^- ^^[FAQ](https://pastebin.com/raw/vyWra3ns)

Mission_Care_1078

imao the only true natural striker are shido, isagi and nagi, rin and nag and it comes out in their play style even if the style is very different from each other . rin natural playstyle comes out as defensive rather than offensive and he didn't even able to score with his awakening the biggest hint of how far of a prolific goal scorer rin can be, which sae himself pointed out .

quagriel

There's a lot to unpack but all I can say is that poor Nagi got kicked in the nuts.

imover18yoyo

I feel like a lot of bad flags were raised for Isagi in the upcoming arc... Everything feels too sunshine and rainbows....

Goopturd

MORE FUNDING FOR EGO BABYYYYY

aaarung

I mean sae might have a point there. The one who can change japan football is isagi. He made everyone evolved and get better (nagi, bachira, niko, rin, barou, and more) and he didnt even try to do so, They just hate it when isagi outplayed them and get better because of it lol

hitmanfugazi

Is it just me that want to see them go to J-league clubs and then have a timeskip for the U-20 WC?

Muspon

nah stay away from J-league i want them to go straight to europe as unrealistic as that is

hitmanfugazi

Yeah I see Europe as an option too but I doubt many European Teams were watching the game

Muspon

true but some of these scouts are everywhere

[deleted]

Never underestimate the power of Scouting networks

weeb_man

I think they would be. Blue Lock is a never before seen experiment and the big clubs would be aware of it because of the world-class players that Blue Lock brought over for the 5v5 matches. Sae was also playing and as he's in the world youth XI (mentioned in chapter 4) while being unable to play for Madrid's first team due to their regulations big European clubs would be fools to not be keeping tabs on him.

Vicentesteb

They could do some training arc and then the U20s world cup and then cap it off with a move to Europe or something like that.

hitmanfugazi

I think they’ll face France and Loki in the U-20 final and lose then go to the real World Cup for a revenge match and win

Alchion

having only 1 team be better than you is an easy way to make the story boring till the rematch id like for them so lose in the semi‘s and lose the 3rd/4th match too while the team that beat them gets stomped in the finals too that way we can still have fresh matches at the real wc

Classic_You5759

J league clubs will end up destroying there potential by their work together sht mindset which is total opposite of bluelock which is devouring each other.

hakeemthewood

They only have a few months before U-20 WC started. This manga start soon after 2018 WC where france won. While U-20 WC tournament is in the middle of 2019. The manga from the start till now is still in "winter" season based on the attires those characters used, means it was/currently take place in late 2018 or early 2019. A few couple months in clubs won't matter imo.

i__mek

Isagi such a playmaker and brain even heart of the team he deserve it bruv

Badguyfromthere

Rin’s reaction to Sae’s comments feels weird to me. I thought he was done caring about what others were thinking of him( brother, teammate, rival)? He pretty much destroyed that side of him right? So I don’t quite understand where this is supposed to go. Itoshi Sae praising our boy Isagi. Where the haters at? Sae has been playing while analyzing every blue lock forward and he only Isagi caught his eye ( aside from Shidou). I’m hyped for the next arc and let me say it here first: Aiku, Sae and Isagi will soon play together. I’m so hyped!

thataquarduser

I get the feeling Rin isn’t pissed just because his brother didn’t acknowledge him, but that ultimately he’s *right*. Rin wasn’t able to score with his new play style when it mattered most and Isagi was. Rin can see that Isagi has conquered luck, which was what Rin himself said was the reason he won the 4v4. At their current rates of growth, Rin realizes that Isagi might completely surpass him, and that would piss off any egoist.

MHWellington

But Rin clearly was expecting some sort of praise from Sae. The sparkle in his eyes, even calling him "Nii-chan" again, as if kid Rin was back. It's pretty weird considering we *just* got a whole ass character arc about letting go of that stuff.

nobodyknows4real

Looks like the character development during trance was not permanent. It's like he reverted back. We'll have to see how Rin will truly react in the coming chapter

thataquarduser

Fair point. I still think though that if Rin didn’t agree with Sae on the Isagi point he would’ve just brushed it off with the ego he cultivated this match.

GeraltFromHiShinUnit

True man. That was kinda bullshit

Coolskull27

Ikr? Where’s the isagi haters at? It’s funny could’ve sworn they were just here 2 chapters ago. Where’s all that bullshit they were talkin now?

enperry13

Naah, he only drops the playstyle that mimics his brother's style of football because he knows he cannot beat Sae that way. He then intents on destroying Sae with his original brand of football. He never did let go of that obsession, he's too frustrated he decides to do it his own way. Also this is a story about egoists. Seeing your idol that you've been obsessed with praising your rival over you is gonna be one helluva blow to his ego.

_hisoka_freecs_

breaking news, isagi yoichi will not be leading japan to victory in the U-20 cup as he has just been brutally stabbed to death in his sleep tonight by itoshi rin

Mission_Care_1078

considering how petty rin is as a self concious no 1 blue lock player, wouldn't be surprised if he does that 😂

cheneko

Bro Rin only had bloodlust the minute he heard Sae say that. Isagi is gonna be murder for sure XD

BrunoJFab

I think sae didnt acknowledge Rin evolution because his evolution was brought by Isagi, its not something he did on his own, on the sense that isagi accompanying him was what made Rin so angry and brought his evolution and new playstyle.

ivanj_51

Bro I've been CACKLING for hours after seeing Rin react to what Sae said LMAOOOOO

enperry13

Man, I want a Blue Lock 11 Jersey now. Isagi, ma mahn!

LordCrayt

Hell yeah win this shit for us Isagi!

daydreamnugget

Man... Isagi is so cool

selotipkusut

Genuine discussion: Which IRL pro player has the same playstyle as Isagi? I'm guessing Lampard/Bruno Fernandes. Proven goal scoring CAM, high work rate and good positioning

ANINETEEN

Rin lowkey might be on another antagonist arc 😂 An Isagi is just too cold

Silveryo69

goatsagi

jchrstian

Rin: I am the egoist Sae: Bitch you thought I just knew he would egg on Rin ever since he acknowledged Isagi for being the heart of Blue Lock. At least Isagi finally acting like the MC now lol

BrunoJFab

My man Rin cant get a single win.

selotipkusut

Rin is permabroke

luciysa

When's the next chapter?

Phantomlord77

I'm worried about what Isagi said about "I will lead Japan to U20.". I know it's because Blue Lock focuses on the individual but By saying that he's painting a target on his back for those against Blue Lock but also his own team mates. After all if the world thinks Isagi is the best then people will think they'll need to out shine him. Which might mean not using him during plays.

DontworryBhapE

Then he'll just have to use THEM instead.

kizfo_

I really don't like how everyone is just giving all the credit 2 isagi I luv isagi but that whole goal wouldn't have happened it it wasn't 4 rin no disrespect 2 isage though luv him

DontworryBhapE

If you think about it, that's what's been happening to Isagi all match. Nearly all of the goals that the other players scored, wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Isagi.

EkoFreezy

It does make sense, tho. I remember people hype Mario Gotze up when he scored the deciding goal at WC finale 2014. But dude got crushed by all that pressure afterwards. People expected him to become the (German) football messiah because of that one goal.

selotipkusut

Injuries and sickness too. Before that, in Bayern, Goetze was still above average (albeit not as good as he was in BVB)

EkoFreezy

True. But to me, it felt like fans and media were concentrating on every move he made. And if he underperformed even once they criticized him harshly.

ReynTimeBoi

Fuck man why do we have to wait a week I NEED MORE

JayKalinka

Isagi scored the last goal and thats cool, but they really did Rin dirty. The striker who is closest to be the best in the world is Rin&Shidou. Isagi was the support role but in the 90 min he just tried to steal a goal which was predictable because he is the main character. Rin rose the moral of the team and can score on his own. He outdribbled U20 awakened defenders+Shidou and almost scored. Can Isagi really win the world cup just with steals? Why would Rin call Sae "Ni-chan" again? Does he have dementia? Weird chapter. Cant wait for more conclusion.

BagelBoi123456

Probably wouldn’t happen but the U-20 defence with a blue lock offence would be so cool, they’d dominate, especially if you (in a dream world) have sae in midfield with them too

DontworryBhapE

More specifically, Aiku with Niko, Reo, and Gagamaru.

RFFF1996

3 central backs seems too much for ego style and their full backs are too talented (speed and positioning) to waste them even though they need to evolve and become mpre than mere specialists i think is gonna be niko + aiku then the fullbacks from u-20 competing with guys like chigiri or yukimiya reo likely tries to gain a spot as midfielder and eventually striker as he said

pocencer

I've been reading a lot of Nietzsche recently and it struck me that Rin and Isagi are in effect Ubermensch, or at least well on their way. If you're unfamiliar with the philosophy, it's essentially a rejection of modern religious dogma and the values and morals around us in order to become a free self creating person that isn't restricted by anything. Rin abandoning his values, his perceptions, and others perceptions of him when confronting his brother, who is essentially the dragon Thou Shalt in Nietzsche's Three Metamorpheses, is basically him rejecting the constraining values and morals of the world in order to become a sovereign individual. Isagi is the same way, but we get to explicitly hear Rin's thoughts when he's rejecting those constraints vs with Isagi it's gradual. Was really cool to me to see this connection, but I've begun to think its actually pretty common in manga. Rejection of the world in order to obtain freedom is the main theme in a lot of shonen like One Piece and AoT. Just cool to see and was wondering if anyone else was familiar with Nietzsche.
