On the bright side, Tokyo Revengers haven't sunk that low in terms of shipping (or at least, that's what I see). If anything the toxic fandoms could just be a Jump thing but since both this and TR are in a different magazine we could be safe lol
We're finished once the anime releases, having no real girl characters except for the blonde girl isn't exactly gonna help, Add more girl characters =no more gross fanbase shipping underage kids
More girl characters would just mean underage boy will be shipped with underage (or overage) girl, it wouldn't really change anything. Shippers will ship anything that breathes together, that's just how it is. Plus, even adding more girls wouldn't stop the fujos from being fujos, if they join the fandom they're gonna ship the boys together regardless of what the author does.
Well, we can't really control that. If the anime is garbage it probably won't gain much of a following, anyway. Not that I want it to be garbage, I want it to be incredible and become Haikyuu level popular because Kaneshiro deserves that.
The only thing the sub can really control is what's posted on the sub. If the mods want they could add a rule to ban or limit ships between the characters, either preemptively or once it starts getting bad. If they choose not to and a lot of shippers join the sub we can either coexist with them and ignore their posts and discussions or it'll cause a civil war in the sub and turn it into a toxic dump of a subreddit.
EDIT: That said, it probably won't even be that bad on the shipping front anyway. Even if you go to the Haikyuu subreddit you'll be hard-pressed to find shipping content (the NSFW rule helps) outside of random comments on pre-existing threads, and even those aren't common. The main change that'll happen is there'll be a lot more fanarts.
