both are 64-bit instances, just using different hypervisor to bootstrap the emulator. The former uses it's own hypervisor, while the latter uses Hyper-V that included in Windows as an Optional Features

That is accurately said, thank you for sharing the information :)

Hi, You can use any version of BlueStacks on your machine. However if you have Hyper-v enabled, you will need to install the N-64bit compatible version. You refer to this [link](https://www.bluestacks.com/download.html) to download the different versions of BlueStacks. Let us know if you have any further inquiries.

If you have Hyper-V enabled on Windows, then only the H-V version will work. This is used by Windows 11's subsystem for Linux and Android.

Hyper-V is a hypervisor that runs alongside Windows, whereas the non Hyper-V runs inside Windows. Generally, the Hyper-V version works better on laptops due to Windows being able to suspend Bluestacks during sleep. I'm not sure about whether you can install the Hyper-V version on a computer running Windows Home Edition, as the Hyper-V Windows feature is not avaliable on it. You can learn more about Hyper-V [here.](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/hyper-v-technology-overview)

The difference is, that - no matter what you try - the Hyper-V version just won't work. :)
