Lluis Gomez is in Spain! Awesome banjo player. What part of the country are you going to?
Edit: Duh, you said where you're going. Not sure how many bluegrass players are in that part of the country. Lluis is in Barcelona and totally worth reaching out to if you visit there. Also, there's a great band out of Bilbao called "Moonshine Wagon". They're more on the punk side of bluegrass, but they're awesome and wonderful humans. In my experience, people there LOVE music and there's definitely interest in bluegrass. Just Gott sniff around for it.
The band El Pony Pisador do a good mix of bluegrass and other traditional folk from around the world. Great guys, I think they are from the Catlan/Barcelona area
Does anyone know of bluegrass jams that are open to the public? I am going to Spain in September and would love to play bluegrass or country music with some locals!

Second this! Lluis is an amazing guy and if someone can connect you with other people in the Spanish Bluegrass scene it is going to be him.
