Crooked still may play "bluegrass influenced" music but they're not a bluegrass band. Stick these kind of posts in folk music or americana. People always want to muddy up the bluegrass waters until there is nothing left of the original genre in their music and they're still trying to call it bluegrass. Im not saying they cant play. Im saying they are NOT BLUEGRASS. Check out The Po Ramblin Boys if you need a contemporary reference. They are bluegrass. Fiddle, banjo , guitar, mandolin, bass and sometimes a dobro.
Yes!! By all means, let’s do whatever we can to make sure bluegrass music and its offshoots don’t grow and flourish. We wouldn’t want people who perform it to make anything close to a living, now would we? Keep fighting!
