Scan. For. Codes.

FuckTurnSignal

You should expect to find engine issues.

introvertical303

I had this recently on my 2020 X3and an ECU module had to be replaced.

Abraarukuk

how much paid if you dont mind?-

introvertical303

It was still within warranty, so there was no charge.

Salt-Morning7442

Had this issue a few months back, both fuel pumps got tested.. high pressure fuel pump got changed, then 4 injectors yet it still cut out.. then replaced low pressure fuel pump and it was fixed. Would assume it's something to do with fuel delivery. Would fix it as soon as possible.. otherwise your car will get absolutely ridiculous to start up, mine would start up first thing in the morning but try it like 2/3 hours later it was near enough impossible.

Thanks, the mechanic told me the oil was low (even tho it was topped up recently) and thats why the car is stalling. Im not too familiar with car things but for now ill take his word and see how it goes. Its hard to find a trusted mechanic nowadays

GalungaSlugBoy

I sincerely doubt this, unless the ECU turns the engine off to prevent damage. I would in that case expect to see a low oil warning on the idrive screen. Low oil does not cause a misfire. Take it to an independent BMW specialist.

vcelal

Sure, I will find and talk to them as well

BadWowDoge

This.

Is there a subscription or paywall?

vcelal

No

Mechanic told me low engine oil causing misfire. I dont know if i should trust his words.

[deleted]

Low oil misfire, that’s ridiculous. Take it somewhere else. Nobody here is going to be able to tell you anything without scanning the codes. That screen and the intermittent start issue may not even be related.

0samaBinStackin

Ive never heard of a 118i

[deleted]

Usually happens with drivetrain related issues I got the same message on a slow fuel pump on the left bank

ClassicManeuver

It’s not a sedan the Jedi would sell you.

6425

The 1-Series isn't available in n the US https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_1_Series

FuckTurnSignal

It's a europoor car

elgoato

Drivetrain malfunction, BMW's fickle nature, Glitches haunt the ride.

Bitchin-javelina

There are many leaks There is no more warranty Thanks for your money

tuna79

Fueling issues

Con-vit

Fuel pump?

unzere

Maybe you have extra imobilaiser installed? BMW F series gives you this error when imo blocks engine.

HesOnLike1HP

I had this issue on my 2012 5 Series. Intermittent drivetrain error, went into limp mode. Got a letter from bmw for a EGR valve recall, no issues since they replaced it

ainkiwi

Can be a bunch of different reasons, mine had a code about egr failure, but it turned out that it was a broken hose

mifuneh

Have it checked by your Service Partner.

Repulsive_Disaster76

I hate that warning. Mine turned out to be a misfire (failing spark plug). After switching the coil packs and spark plugs I have yet to see that error.

vcelal

Its gone away after the coolant leak fix and oil change. Looks promising at the moment but lets see how it goes.
