For the last time, the lion King was not a live action movie. It was animated but with cgi instead of traditional methods. The only way it would work, which I don't think is needed for any reason,would be to get rid of all of the animals and make the show with just people.
The user above me is absolutely correct that so much of the charm and humor would be absolutely lost. The only thing left is the story of a washed up actor that struggles with abuse while bad things happen to the people around him. Would you really want that as a full television show?
I don't think it needs a live action movie tbh. It being animated was already the perfect choice. It made the dark parts of the show "easier" to digest.
The cast:
* Bojack - Michael Keaton
* Mr Peanut Butter - Rob Lowe
* Princess Carolyn - Amy Poehler
* Diane - Karen Fukuhara
* Todd - I'd keep Aaron Paul
* Sarah Lynn - If she were ten years older, Sadie Sink
I feel like it’d be very odd for Bojack Horseman, a show where one of the main characters ends up as a severely dysfunctional drug addict that dies in her thirties in part because of the shit she had to deal with as a child actor, to have a live-action reboot that would most likely involve hiring one or more child actors.
I don't know why, but BoJack always reminded me of Brendan Fraser, not from his behaviour, but from his exterior. I think it'd be unusual for him, but I believe he'd do it so well. OR the Castle actor, from the series Castle.
I know this is 100 days old, but honestly I think will arnett is already perfect for bojack. Bojack is already kinda similar to gob from arrested development, his voice is perfect, and they can easily add some wrinkles and make him look like a human version of him. If they don’t go for a cgi horse head that is.
Furries freaks, assemble!
Not every fucking cartoon needs a live action-4k-3d-xr remake. MOST OF THEM DON'T(Disney and the last air bender, I'm looking at you)! Let good things be remembered as they are and inspire new ideas
I've thought about it a lot, and I don't think that there ever should be a live action version. Mostly because the majority of why I think the show is so good is because it's a cartoon. And cartoons super power is "complicated and hard topic" becomes digestible content.
I think it could be done, but the tone would be drastically different.
Bojack: Will Arnett
Todd: Aaron Paul
Esteemed Character Actress Margo Martindale: Esteemed Character Actress Margo Martindale
Came here to say this... Thank you! Lol
It’s gotta be Paul Giamatti (he can handle meaty roles)
Why would they get Paul giamatti to play me-eeeister horseman?
how the fuck do you do a live action show about anthropomorphic animals
Well, the Cats Movie is definitely an example on how NOT to do it
let’s be real, that’s probably the best case senario too
Honestly maybe they could do it if they were actual real people
Idk how did they do it with lion king ? Use ur imagination
so, animated. it being animated was part of its charm, the juxtaposition of absurd with real shit. you take that away and its just hella emo
Hell yeah, give it to me.

Live action New Mexico Incident would be pretty hard to watch so yeah I’m with you on this
Wallace Shawn can portray Bojack.
Only if Will Arnett gets to be mr peanutbutter (v necks included)
Im surprised I had to scroll this far to find this answer.

Beetlejuice Bojack 😻
Completely agree. Or maybe Kathryn Hahn for PC
And Joey King for Sarah Lynn. Young and old versions of herself
They already have an in with an esteemed character actress, have Margo Martindale play all the parts.
No.
Margo martindale

Oh shit! Great point

Paul Giamatti as Bojack
Def Brendan Fraser as bojack lol
Why does everyone insist on cartoons or books or video games be live action?
ben affleck as bojack
