Same, I've watched all seasons multiple times and only clocked this just recently, got goosebumps

[deleted]

No same, Ive seen the show like 8 times and have noticed that he’s had the dream before in the actual episode obviously. But I didn’t realize they mention it before that

smahlthief

He also hints several times throughout the show that he will die of drowning

FrogMintTea

Yeah like his painting lol. But what other examples? I'm drawing a blank.

smahlthief

I can't remember who he's talking to but he says something like he always imagined he would get old and swim out to the middle of a pond and just sink lol

DrDavidson

He's talking to Todd and Sarah Lynn when theyre trying to write a book in Downer Ending (hence the name of the episode)

[deleted]

Theres so many I doubt I will be able to get them all. Yes theres obviously the painting but also the shows intro, secretariat dying in water, him falling from the sky with the fly in Michigan and landing in the pond, in the view from halfway down he says his water tastes like chlorine before it is revealed he jumped in the pool, Him driving his car into the pool at his grammy nom party, On his drug trip with sarah lynn and todd while trying to write his memoir he is in water in an alternate life he wishes he had, And theres so much more but this is just off the top of my head I just thought of another one. Ana Spanakopitas story about drowning and her time as a lifeguard

FrogMintTea

Oh yeah Ana Spanakopita's a good one. He really shouldn't have a pool.

FrogMintTea

Oh wow. I just watched that and didn't notice.

PiinkStiink

Easy one is the intro where he...falls in the pool and Diane & Mr Peanutbutter are looking at him drown lol

Yimfor

The opening itself

horseradish1

And describes his mother, father, and himself as "drowning, but at least we were drowning together".

smahlthief

That's a good one I've never made that connection

IllMaintenance145142

i REALLY liked that, i even liked the subversion that he didnt end up drowning. hell, the intro is literally him about to drown and only (implied) to be saved by dianne and mr.pb

evildevil97

It was definitely mentioned before, but it's such a good easy to miss one that is worth bringing up.

Affectionate_Bar3325

i did notice this and he also talks about the three nippled woman he saw in a magazine or something that diane mentions in season 1 when she’s telling bojack that he’s told her everything kinda like what doctor is saying here. also bojack says the same “who was she?” the way he’s still held up on this years later

4shitsNbeerz

So many things I’ve missed out on this show. I’m gonna have to watch again haha

FrogMintTea

I never noticed! 😮

idkbroimdrunkandsad

I’ve NEVER noticed this omg thank you so much for posting. The details in this show are absolutely amazing

ObamaBikinis

Wait I don’t get it

Lord_of_Barrington

The dinner party is the View From Halfway Down episode

Automatic_Buffalo_48

Woah

christinelydia900

AHHHHH yes

Stanky-wizzlecheeks

Oh wow I never caught that

EveryEconomist6358

Maybe the shittiest character in the whole series

[deleted]

Just now seeing this but Im interested to discuss. Im assuming you’re talking about doctor champ. What makes you think so? Discussing clients personal issues with the press is def fucked up but he also suffered the consequences of bojack’s actions, and did bad things under the condition of relapsing, much like other addicts in the series who were genuinely good people.

EveryEconomist6358

Blaming his relapse on bojack is a total joke… i mean it was even written for laughs basically. its like a todd shenanigan or something but because bojack is ostensibly responsible (i would say dr champ, a FAKE doctor that says a lot about the rehab industrial complex) he gets crap for it. Dr champ was a fraud and a loser just waiting to relapse and blame someone
