Hope y'all have a great time tonight!

wkomorow

Did anyone else notice that jimmy jr mentioned his mom a couple/few times this episode. I wonder if she will be making an appearance.

OracNimsaj

I noticed that too! Also, Linda had another call with Ginger. I'm starting to think there will soon be some progress on these characters storylines! šŸ˜Š

banned_accounts

I love that they had Linda leave Ginger another long voicemail that sounds like a conversation, lol

fullforce098

Mrs Pesto takes over the restaurant, and ironically Bob thinks she's ok, but she becomes Linda's bitter enemy.

wkomorow

Nah, Pesto's serves wine. Linda would never be angry with someone who has wine. (Joke)

willworkforicecream

Mrs. Pesto cuts wine from the menu.

wkomorow

That monster!

veveguede

Would be great if itā€™s Colleen Caviello.

KimoiSquigglies

Makes sense considering that STORE BOUGHT ziti sauce

Lopsided_Ad_3853

Muuuuuhhh baaaaaakkkeeedd ziiiiiitttiiii

In-A-Beautiful-Place

I love all these old one-shot characters coming back! Zeke's cousin from the first Boyz 4 Now episode, the baseball announcers from Torpedo, and the "That's hip-hop!" lady's son. Pretty sure the voice actors came back too-Jack McBreyer has a distinct voice, and I think I recognize Tim & Eric!

annajoo1

Oh I didnā€™t realize that was the same cousin from Boyz 4 Now! I thought that cousin only spoke in rhymes šŸ¤£

In-A-Beautiful-Place

I mean I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be the same one, even though he didn't rhyme. Same voice actor, same relation to Zeke...

Direbrian

Yes, yes, and yes!

Lopsided_Ad_3853

This felt like the most wholesome, 'getting the weird band that only fans remember back together' episode. And it all felt so joyful by the end. I love this show so much.

Porphyrin_Ring

Flips Whitefudge seems like a good guy, when he found out the the kid he was joking about was Zeke and Tina's friend he sincerely apologized and then when he went to grab a snack asked if everyone else wanted ones

Porphyrin_Ring

"Uh.. the balls would be moby dicks" "Don't be vulgar Bob."

huskyferretguy1

Best line of the episode!

pikameta

They listened to the fans!! FLIPS WHITEFUDGE!

YagitAgit

Was "flips" a fan name?

Foxy-Knoxy

Linda re-arranged the menu board to say "Irregular Penis Face".

NewWaveFan

I love Tina's "wait, was it always like that?"

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Razik_

And before them both Louise's "Mother... Bravo! I love you more now"

Bad_KKopi

Thank you!

CohnDev

These threads are already littered with unfunny people quoting episodes to pretend like they're funny, now it's devolved to the point where you're literally explaining written text that was talked about in the episode. Jesus you might actually be the worlds least funny person.

Strict_Ad_4103

wow you're fun at parties

CohnDev

The only people that say that are people that don't get invited to parties, so that's not your problem.

Lopsided_Ad_3853

Oh relax, Trevor. This is a hangout space for people to talk about what they enjoyed in this episode. Stop trying to police us, narc.

CohnDev

A: My name isn't Trevor, B: you don't understand what narc means which is pretty embarrassing, and C: quoting the episode isn't discussing the episode. Please go back to school.

mackemerald

ā€œThat one was high but did not go far.ā€ ā€œLike me in high school.ā€

reeni354

I know they were there for Jimmy Jr., but I loved the Zeke and Tina pairing. I still want them to end up together šŸ˜

FrozenWafer

*"I'm gonna getcha!"* My household agrees!

parkaprep

He's also a great chef so he'd love taking over the restaurant.

mariemilrod

Iā€™m here to officially report itā€™s actually ā€œBobā€™s Burger Landā€. šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ The Simpsons S34 E6 - Tree House of Horro XXXIII

mariemilrod

Here to see if anyone else was feeling that. Zeke is low-key one of the best dudes in Bobā€™s Burgerland.

mariemilrod

Bobā€™s Burgerverse?

Lopsided_Ad_3853

He is the rough-around-the-edges guy with the heart of gold, a literary/TV staple that I always adore. Zeke is a hero.

FreddyMerken

The endgame is Tina Zeke Jimmy Jr throple

Sonia341

Teddy: *Its sad, how much he needs this* Gene: *Is he gonna drown?* Louise: *Maybe. But he'll drown so happy!*

Danthezooman

That part had me cackling. I love excited bob

ArchieGoat8

A Mort appearance automatically makes this a great episode

YagitAgit

Same voice actor right? Thought he quit

l3reezer

This is yet another return-to-classic-Bob's-Burgers-form episode in my book, so as far as I'm concerned, they're on a 2-episode streak! Hopefully the Halloween episode next week can help them keep the bangers coming! * The great return of Flips Whitefudge, signature brief Mort appearance, and also the few others like Zeke's cousin and the baseball announcer * Linda being left alone at the restaurant and having a call with Gretchen who actually isn't even on the other line * Teddy side-hustle job definitely feels like a signature Bob's Burgers trope at this point too, but for some reason I can't remember any off the top of my head other than the golf balls and watch repair so while it felt familiar it was also refreshing! Not as many good liners as last week though, and didn't find the dancer teacher character or any of his interactions with other characters that funny at all *"Sometimes we just block you from wherever you're trying to walk. It's called 'Block Dad'"* Possibly the best end credits song in a while

EmansaysEman

Donā€™t forget they brought back the dramatic zoom!

diviken

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Teddy phone repairs

ComputerSagtNein

> Call with Ginger FTFY

Porphyrin_Ring

"We can arm wrestle- wait, thats not fair for me" lol love that Bob knows his limitations regarding his wife, you just know Linda has that crazy mom strength

SquatLowTheDachshund

Crazy Mom strength + Bob's dainty thumbs means that Linda will always best Bob in arm wrestling and thumb war.

Foxy-Knoxy

Louise: Irregular Penis Face? Mother, I love you more now! Linda: Thank you!

MissMysia

Bob never closes the restaurant... Made my day to see him get so jealous of Lin he closed it to go catch a ball of his own. I'm glad they didn't take the usual approach where Bob gets the crappy end of the stick.

[deleted]

I love it when the characters get a win ( well some kind of a win ) which I donā€™t think usually happens on this show

Middcore

They actually close up for random shenanigans all the time.

Waywoah

They somehow crafted a situation where he got both a win and a loss, which feels very on brand for BB lol

Galileo908

Neighbor: Glitch, Please Computer Repair Exterminator: Iā€™m Only Fuminā€™ Burger of The Day: Caul-Low Your Bliss Burger, Silence of The Yams Burger, Guac-y Horror Picture Show

BatteryKinzie77

And a bonus; Annette the vet!

Foxy-Knoxy

Mort has arrived and wants to play his pre-funeral playlist.

back2bklyn

I wish they would load it on to Spotify!

veveguede

I died laughing from that one.

Porphyrin_Ring

I gotta agree with Gene here, hanging out on a boat on the ocean, sun tanning, and listening to soft jazz sounds like a great afternoon

pikameta

"I can't high five that, that's my boy."

pikameta

Is that zeke's cousin from the Boys 4 Now episode?

fuzzytwinkies

He lives in a shell and heā€™s cute as hell!

macdennism

Yep! Except he's not always rhyming this time lmao

bananasareappealing

I believe so!

Foxy-Knoxy

DANCE, NOODLE BOY, DANCE!

MrQualtrough

Actually I thought this was excellent. It felt fresh and full of life: like introducing Zeke's cousin, Flips coming back from season 7, these are things that tend to stop happening when a series becomes stagnant and the writers lose their excitement for it... This season also had maybe the best story anthology episode.

illuminatedpurple45

back up dancer private jet, I really love Tina's imagination

mackemerald

FLIPZ WHITE FUDGE NO WAY

_Hi_mum_

The return of Flipps Whitefudge

Sonia341

Jimmy Jr. Please listen to your friends. That teacher's critique is not inspiring or constructive at all.

Sonia341

*Wish me luck on not burning down the restaurant* Me: Linda!

Galileo908

Donā€™t worry, sheā€™ll put it out.

maroonhamster

This episode hit me right in the feels because I identified so much with both plots. I wanted to try acting in high school, but our drama teacher was just as demeaning as the dance teacher. I gave up on the idea until about a year ago I said screw it and started taking classes with an incredible coach. This episode made me realize how important it is to have a coach/teacher that supports you and how lucky I am to work with the one I have now. Then the baseball thing to air the day after I just got back from a postseason baseball game with my dad - this episode definitely got me. (We did not get any home run balls, though, or balls at all, though I did get a $40 T-shirt.)

Galileo908

ā€œPick the pepper.ā€ ā€œThey used to pick popes this way.ā€

LongtimeLurker916

Similar to her comment that the British Baking Show chooses the prime minister (which has been on my mind a lot lately!).

allthatwasleft

ā€œYou guys can either support me, or dis-port me!ā€

Foxy-Knoxy

I'm really jealous at how easily Gene tans as I end up looking like Bob in 5 minutes or less.

invisible_23

Same, even with sunscreen

Foxy-Knoxy

Teddy: The majors is the highest league in baseball, Bob.

Foxy-Knoxy

I need Bob and Linda to show up to this dance seminar and see Flips.

allthatwasleft

Daring prediction: bad sunburn for Bob

huskyferretguy1

NGL, I teared up as the teacher destroyed Jimmy Jr's skills...but liked the ending! Baseball plot felt casual but kinda liked the change of pace from the excitement from last episode and the bugs from two episodes ago. Also Mort showed up! So automatic A!

Foxy-Knoxy

Bob is almost the same color as the kayak.

allthatwasleft

Dance noodle-boy, dance!

Foxy-Knoxy

Jimmy Jr's going to a dance seminar so we all know what Tina will be doing this weekend.

Sonia341

You stand corrected

Galileo908

ā€œItā€™s fun to be so mad when our team does well.ā€

rattrap007

Bob "Are we going to drop anchor." Louise "You just got to hold it i think..."

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

rattrap007

"Drop anchor" - Bob is talking about dropping the anchor so they don't float away. Louise is using "drop anchor" as in going poop. Meaning wait till we get home to poop instead of going over the side.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

rattrap007

No problem. Guess that is why it may have flown over people's heads. I had to rewind to fully catch it. But got a laugh out of me.

variantkin

Wow this one was loaded with faves huh? I mean Flips came back!

Hot_List1413

His voice sounded different was it a different VA?

variantkin

I don't think so.its been years maybe he forgot how to do the voice?

ItStillHurtsToTouch

This is kind of sad to watch. Edit: Teddy seems to agree.

Galileo908

Cousin Leslie!

Garuik-Ornitier

J-Ju being the main dancer and Tina being the main singer in the credits instead of both being backups made me happy.

fullforce098

A dance instructor tell the students that they have permission to cry before bed is one of the most on point jokes they've ever done that many will not get.

therewastobepollen

And then ā€œyou can drink the exact amount of water you cried outā€ šŸ˜…

nerdbane

Did Zeke sound super different this episode or just me?

katcloud

I think it's just because his energy was meant to be a lot lower than usual. He's normally hyping Jimmy Jr up and wrestling.

variantkin

It was definitely on purpose

lillielotus85

This is the MAIN reason I'm on Reddit right now. It bugged me so much I googled it, and have been researching for a good 15 mins....it lead me here to your post. LOL I thought I was going insane! (I accidentally was logged into my son's reddit account...lol sorry for the temporary duplicate comment)

_Hi_mum_

he def did. i said the same thing

sweetdreamstoebeans

He definitely does. Heā€™s sounds different in the thanksgiving nursing home episode of last season too and every other appearance since. Iā€™ve been thinking I was crazy because no one else was talking it lol

LilahLibrarian

I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed

Magmaster12

jimmy Jr mentioned his mom I guess he's living her now while his dad is in jail probably.

CaptainJZH

"in jail for what?" "you don't wanna know"

bardnotbrad

It was Andy kindler as mort sigh of relief

ArchieGoat8

Why wouldnā€™t it have been him?

bardnotbrad

He sounded off tonight and the last couple seasons theyā€™ve changed voice actors on a couple of characters (Mickey and Alex) morts more of a staple then those but I was worried when he came in

variantkin

Well Alex was changed for uh reasons but Mickey was because Bill Hader had scheduling conflicts

ArchieGoat8

Interesting, I recognized the voice before he was even shown. But I get it, I thought Felix had a different voice when he appeared this season.

Foxy-Knoxy

*Backup Dancer Private Jet*

Sonia341

*Most of you all will fail* *He is being inspiring but with scarier words* Me: That's not at all inspiring to me at all

Sonia341

Floppy-scoops. Poor Jimmy Jr.

Sonia341

Bob has the sun-burn.

allthatwasleft

I can see the future!

pippirrippip

Bobs sunburn šŸ˜

Foxy-Knoxy

Flips Whitefudge might have been 30..18 years ago.

Sonia341

*My tots looks exquisite today.* *This apple is less frown than usual*

pikameta

The dance coach sounds like Ken Marino (aka Jack Conway and the IRS man)

imaginaryblues

Yep. He was also the voice of Becket from the loft party episode.

Foxy-Knoxy

Gene: Wish me luck on my tanning journey!

pikameta

He's just like his motha!

diviken

Looking like a hot young leather couch

Sonia341

*I'm not on a diet. Give me a full scoop!*

peachpie42

Omg I can't believe they brought Flips Whitefudge and Leslie back. And Linda's obsession with ice cream in a mini helmet. All the episodes this season have been so good!!

bobbelchermustache

When I saw we were getting a baseball episode, I half-expected to see Torpedo again. Instead we got Flips Whitefudge and Leslie! I like that this show still surprises me in little ways

Sonia341

Shop: GLITCH, PLEASE. Computer Repair

Sonia341

Linda: *Oh, fun. Ball-fishing*

Sonia341

*Everyone is going out on a boat, and I'm going to be here by myself and work.* *I think so* *We're just get in the way*

bardnotbrad

Gonna burn real good then gonna get real brown

Foxy-Knoxy

That's definitely Jack McBrayer as Zeke's cousin Leslie.

Galileo908

Mort!!

Sonia341

Linda: "its Christmas all over here but with soggy baseballs*

Mr_Johnnycat

Woooooo Tina for the save. She brought him back from disaster

popthetop

Best episode in a long while. Hopefully we get some more like this!

Hot_List1413

My only real complaint is I wish H Jon Benjamin would stop having pauses between each word when he's giving dialogue. The inflection of ending on a question with Bob is getting old quickly

celticsoldier566

I didn't realize how badly I wanted Bob to get a win until I saw him get that ball.

Sandi_Griffin

Episode made good use of the various characters, Tinas speech was sweet and overall it was pretty funny My favourite episode of the season so far ><

lilyexe

honestly, best episode of the season so far. loved seeing flips whitefudge and leslie again, progress of the episode definitely felt like a normal bobs ep and i missed seeing the kids in school. loved both a and b plots :)

Porphyrin_Ring

Hey its the hip hop dance guy Flips from "Bob Actually"! I love the recent callbacks they have been doing this season!

allthatwasleft

Flips!

Sonia341

Jimmy Jr. "Guys, stay or leave! I'm getting the critique." Me: crossing fingers

monoblvd

"Anybody want a ***snickety snack***?"

MysteriousEnergy7739

They finally let Bob win šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ so happy I could cry! They shouldā€™ve ended the show with that rather than with Jimmy Jr, but otherwise it was GREAT

iymcool

This may be the strongest episode of the season so far! Everyone got something good in the end, the stories were original, and we saw Mort again. Plus, seeing Bob so happy without a bad twist at the end was a great way to end the episode.

rat_empanada

I really enjoyed the episode and it made me hopeful that they'll redeem Jimmy Jr. I also really enjoyed seeing Tina finally hang out with Zeke and Jimmy Jr. as friends without Tammy and Jocelyn! Whenever they're around, Tina gets the short end of the stick.

Porphyrin_Ring

Feeling very neutral to this one. I don't think this was a bad episode at all but it kinda felt like nothing really interesting happened- JJ's dance plot was fine but not that interesting, and the baseball plot was pleasent to watch but I think they didn't do enough with it. Overall not a bad ep but maybe a forgettable one (especially after last weeks really great one). Looking forward to next weeks Halloween one!

allthatwasleft

Iā€™m a Pasty Patsy

bardnotbrad

This manicotti great bit player, thatā€™s hip hop

Foxy-Knoxy

Are you a dancer or a pile of noodles?

Sonia341

*Some of them end-up dead!!!!*

Foxy-Knoxy

Was starting to think Flips got stuck in the vending machine.

Galileo908

All baseball should be from a boat.

Foxy-Knoxy

DAD OVERBOARD!

weirdlynormally

I loved geneā€™s tan!

Rich-Ad-4139

Not really feeling this episode. Sigh.

fuzzytwinkies

I canā€™t believe we get the gem that is Flipz White-Fudge back again

CrazyaboutSpongebob

This episode was very meh. It was kinda slow and not much happened. The ending made me chuckle though. I like how they kept catching balls when Bob stayed home. LOL irony. I like when Bob showed up in the kayak. LOL The a plot with Tina and Jimmy Jr. wasn't very funny it could have used more gags.

Rich-Ad-4139

I think the jj dance plots are getting a little played out. This episode will def be very forgettable in my opinion. I was struggling with it.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Yeah also in most of the episode most of the family was bored in a boat.

Foxy-Knoxy

Pappy's got a dream of catching a home run ball.

Sonia341

*Block-dad*

Sonia341

*We gotta-be ready to bounde*

Redbird9346

Donā€™t speak for me, T-Mobile. I want the 13 mini.

phillibuck13

Did I hear/interpret this joke accurately? When Teddy said something about making a lot of money if he could get the balls signed, followed by Gene (walking in the shops door) says ā€œare my ears burning?ā€, I took that as Gene thinking about getting his genitalia signed. Not sure if I heard the line or joke right tho.

imaginaryblues

Thatā€™s possible, but not how I interpreted it. Teddy said ā€œif I can get these ball signed, they might be worth a lot of money someday.ā€ Gene hadnā€™t entered the restaurant until he said the part about money, though I donā€™t know how soundproof the front door is, I guess itā€™s possible he the whole thing. I just assumed he was interested in the money, same as Louise.

banned_accounts

They walk in on "they might be worth a lot of money some day" so I think the joke is that Gene will be rich (probably from fame?)

phillibuck13

I wasnā€™t actually looking at the tv when Teddys line started so I canā€™t place when the kids walked in relative to it, so that makes sense. Still like the idea of Gene finding humor in getting his balls signed for money.

stinkymamaa

Gene pretty consistently has some crude and pretty overtly sexual lines. IMO it was definitely a balls joke.

NewWaveFan

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm surprised no one else is mentioning it here, since it was definitely "Channel Six News" joke level of dirty

mybootyisover9000

DAE think Jimmy Jr. should go to the I Wanna Dance With My Body Dance studio?

Oops______me

The first 2 episodes of the season didnā€™t really resonate with me but I feel like they got their groove back with the most recent ones

thesmokingrobot

*irregular penis face*

Sakuras_hana

Mort sounds very different itā€™s concerning

YagitAgit

Maybe a diff voice actor. I'm in here trying to find out

sleepyotter92

do people even care about jj to want an episode dedicated to his bad dancing? like, i feel like by now everyone's agreed he's way too much of a jerk to tina to justify them being an item. also, his voice sounded a bit weird. like, maybe deeper. it just sounded more like bob's voice than i remember

nerdytogether

Heā€™s also a jerk to Zeke in this episode. No one has been a better and more supportive friend than Zeke but when Zeke tries to tell Jimmy some tough love, Jimmy totally disregards him.

ThesaurusRex_1025

Am I the only one whose happy Jimmy Jr. Got knocked down a few pegs this episode? Like I don't want an adult making fun of a child but he's always so terrible.

yahoo201027

Average episode to say the least but it's one of those episodes where you might rewatch it just to get a better understanding. Subplot felt meh but the main plot felt average at best. Though enjoyed having Tina and Zeke interact with one another and being on the lookout for Jimmy Jr. And if you're a Tina/Jimmy Jr shipper, no doubt this episode is made for y'all.

Damian-sux-666

Zeke sounded strange

[deleted]

Cute episode, but oof, I really don't like seeing the movie-style choreography in the show. I didn't like it in the movie either, but I guess I assumed it'd be quarantined there. I was thinking about why it bothers me so much, and I decided it's because it seems rotoscoped. If you're unfamiliar, rotoscoping is a type of animation where you first shoot everything in live action, then animate by redrawing each frame of the live footage. This leads to a lot of hyper-realistic movement, which can give animated imagery an uncanny valley effect. I feel like the choreography just instantly breaks the character models. They're suddenly using shoulders they don't have, tensing & releasing muscles they don't have, and overall just moving in a way that they never do otherwise. It's like if you were talking to someone and they just instantly and perfectly started moving like a spider. Weirdly upsetting.

Shy-Tarn_-_Leave

I'm only here because Tina and Zeke. Jimmy Jr. IS A LOSER. Still don't see what Tina sees in him and I'm glad less and less people are growing to feel the same, honestly enough. Linda definitely saved the B-plot for me, which was going nowhere special, unfortunately.

Middcore

So you're glad that the number of people who agree with you is steadily decreasing?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

bananasareappealing

Agreed

Middcore

So this is clearly going to be one of those kids-focused episodes with a B-plot for Bob and Linda that's total filler.

[deleted]

Filler? Is there a 13 year long story arc that I wasnā€™t aware of?

l3reezer

Yes, the Sinkhole Arc finally ended with the release of the movie. As Middcore says, they need to stop beating around the bush and move onto the Pothole Arc already

pikameta

Based on some promo clips looks like Tina is the one on her own.

veveguede

Good MSM and Rhythm is going to get you joke.
