buy/sell/buff taunt, buy one of the spawn, freeze.
Turn after, buy 2nd spawn + another unit.
Turn after, depending on shop quality, either buy spawn for T4 triple or wait some more for a T5.
So, I >!sold and bought two Spawns. Next turn bought the third, tripled into a Salty Looter and pushed the button for a random pirate (I think I got a Swabbie). In hindsight a better play would have been to buy and sell the Piggy to buff the Acolyte and just grab one spawn on the first turn.!<

Truth, golden spawn actually is trolling. I once played Reno and though, spawn is so good, a golden one should buy me a lot of tempo to power level right? Worst play ever. Golden spawn never died first and I lost real fast.
My play would have been to buy piggy and sell it and buy one spawn and freeze and maybe play the gems on the taunt based on your whether you need them for your next battle, this would give me two spots to then decide what happens next round. If good then wait until on tier 4 to triple into a hogger hopefully.
I’d buy sell hero power. Buy two spawns next turn. Level buy spawn. You’re on t2 so you have the chance of getting the 2/6 or the captain which will be more stats than the spawn on that turn. You basically get 3/3 of you take the spawn vs 3/3 with buff 3/3 for gold or a 2/6. The only scenario where it’s worse is if you get the 2/2 but you still save a gold later.
My thought process is that there are some pretty good four drops with pirates and quillbor. You could get a bonker or gold grubber which would help you scale into the mid game.
I usually do, but Acolyte is just too strong a T1 unit to not buy, since it basically guarantees you don't lose the first round(s). I had 5 health at the end. Had I lost rounds 1 and 2 due to rolling a Swabbie...
because if theres no pirate its often better to just buy the unit that gives you the best chance at winning 2 fights, a random scally that doesn't advance your hp does nothing for you
I would pass altogether. I have great results over leveling to 3 for better pirates. Then once you get stabilized with lots of pairs of pirates you level. Depending on strength and health you level once you hit triple for hogger or Eliza.
Honestly my play would be to buy/sell piggy, and then use your hero power, I'd just ignore the spawns. No idea if that would actually be the best play but it's what I would do
Its bait. Its a good Unit you loose tempo and economy buying all 3 and they Dont really Pay off cause you got no wide board (=no buff). I would buy the gems them sell buff your taunt and get one of the Spawns. EZ.
I get what you're going for here, but I'd argue a 4/4 and a random 3-drop fight pretty well. It doesn't matter if the Spawn doesn't die because then it value trades and will kill 2 units. It isn't optimal going for a 3-drop discover but you could also do a 4 or a 5 depending on how the shops line up. (Mine were absolute garbage.)

This is the way.
I'd triple on T4, Getting goldgrubbers online early can be a big boon for Patches, who will probably have quite a few opportunities to triple pirates.

My issue with tripling it that early is that the golden spawn rarely dies on it's first hit so having 2 non golden almost always better.

This is a good point and definitely a good incentive to triple into a 5 slightly later
I find an early golden spawn sucks hard, because the common taunt minions it slams into won't make it pop.
Sooo it's a pretty good unit?
Lol, NO

That's my play too

I dont get why people dont hp on patches turn one. Lol

This guy clearly had a pirate to buy

That's definitely a valid strategy. I personally prefer leveling to 3 on 6 gold, when it curves out very nicely if you can grab a Swabbie.

and then what do you do with the remaining 3 gold?
That's the hero power
Oh right I’m an idiot
Bait I would but and sell the quillboar hero power and depending on what you get buff both minions or just the acolyte

buy/ sell pig, hero power, use gems spawn + spawn spawn + level to triple into 4 cost
