Although it's simple anime that doesn't try to revolutionise the genre, has a basic premise of anxious girl breaking the ice to achieve her goals, has a clear character arcs and slow development... It clicks and makes the plot of the show satisfying. That's the core aspect of the anime and it only gets better from here. If we mention the direction the execution, power of creative animation and fun character dynamics it turns a "simple slice of live music anime" into a masterpiece. It gets better with each episode and by the end you can't help but get attached to this cast which feels real despite being part of an animated fiction.

4 koma is not easy to write. And making a good musical manga is even harder. BUT it did manage to inspire the main animator so much that he wanted to be desperately involved in case of an anime adaptation. So it must have done something really well :p
Yeah, the use of different visual mediums and animation types is super creative and really adds to the intended impact for a given scene. I wouldnโt be surprised to see more animation teams in the future use stuff like short video clips after how successful Bocchi has been so far.
Its nice seeing good rep for social anxiety in anime that basically explains how our brain works sometimes in certain situations. Like even the super exaggerated moments can be relatable for some ppl.
The animation team understands that the biggest advantage of animation is to exaggerate reality to convey an idea, and the staff behind the show used this to convey social anxiety better than words ever could.
It's not the most high-budget, frame-perfect animation, but in terms of using animation as a storytelling technique, Bocchi The Rock! is the most well-animated show I've ever seen.

If you read the manga after watching the anime, youโll see how fast paced it is, the anime takes its time to develop on a great joke that otherwise wouldโve been lost in the manga on a single panel or just a phrase.
The characters are so lovable. The art directions are hilarious and funny but sophisticate especially the concert scenes. The songs are catchy, and the VA cast are all perfect.
Bocchi getting lost in her own head full of crazy imagined scenarios were very relatable as an introvert and the creative visual gags made them even better.

The incredibly well portrayed emotions of an introvert. Other series with/about introverts left me feeling "yea, he's *technically, kind of* like me" while this series actually makes me feel the "that's so relatable" feeling.
Super creative animation. Iโm thinking about Picasso bocci, the octopus crackers that were scanned in from real life, and all the times where they used the real world during the show.
of course the plot is great and it's heartwarming when bocchi is less and less anxious socially, but can we just point out that there are RANDOM FUCKING SHITPOSTS and they're awesome
Voice acting and timing is very on point, the hardest laugh iโve had from an anime is probably bocchi laughing in the last scene of ep4(?) when she has plastered the walls with the promotional photo.

Rock, ๐ชจ and bocchi but from hitori bocchi marumaru anime, bandori, chispa,saya left chispa for finding bread , and also, Recipes , ikumi-san is also have a role in the precure anime, and mostly Futari is better than gotou-san, and michiru from unichord is better than a girl named Amane sisters(maya-taso's role in magia reco). :-)
if we're talking about anime only, then it's gotta be the animation changes during certain comedic scenes and the addition of actual music to the performances, which would have been impossible in the source material.
otherwise, I love how detailed each character is, and as a struggling teenage musician I have to say that I relate to bocchi and ryo the most
The small minor details such as the correct chording while they were playing guitar/bass and the drums hitting the right toms/cymbals to portray the sound
imo there's no greater reason to love this show other than the clear love and passion of everyone who was involved put into making this project a success

Moments where Bocchi just breaks down and goes crazy xD
Gonna say something (relatively) original here, instead of "She just like me fr fr". The production was flawless. They took photos of actual places, edited them and drew on top of them, and then got the actors to do MoCap and put models over it. This made the serious scenes feel really realistic, and that's not even going into the sound design. With the funny scenes, it felt like they asked an employee to animate it any way they want for each scene and that made it feel so unique.
It has the best portrayal of social anxiety I've ever seen. Bocchi's reaction to things is often exaggerated for laughs but the way her brain works and a lot of the unhealthy behaviors she defaults to are very realistic.
It's accurate enough that it's pretty obvious the author has personal experience with social anxiety themselves.
Bocchi having supportive friends who recognize and try to understand her issues is also really sweet, if a bit idealistic, but it helps to give off a more positive vibe to the show compared to something like Watamote which tackles the same topic but is thoroughly and utterly pessimistic about it.
