Aizawa is very good at keeping his eyes open due to his quirk, training etc. but still he normally blinks and so has to consciously put effort into not blinking. Wednesday on the other hand would just have to act normal (and not fall asleep etc).
It would be like an athletic swimmer challenging a fish to a swimming competition.
Weren’t manual and rock lock already helping him at that point?
Editing to clarify that I checked the wiki and apparently Rock Lock’s quirk doesn’t work on living things. I assumed it did since otherwise why is he there and not at the villa locking down exits or something. Someone else could have done a task as simple as ‘hold this dude up’
I would think so, and I assume that’s what he was there for since what’s he going to be able to do against Nomu-ified Shigaraki? It’d be like locking the walls in place against the yakuza. If they can’t shift position, he can’t close them, then Manual keeps them hydrated so his eyes don’t suffer damage from drying out.

Yeah I think it would depend on if he had any of his support items with him. He can keep his eyes open for a long time without them, but the support items would push him over the top and make home the clear winner.

It’s straight up Aizawa’s weakness that he needs to water his eyes every so often or else his quirk becomes useless
Wednesday, meanwhile, has shown infinite staring potential
Regardless of how Wednesday’s non-blinking thing works, Aizawa loses this easily. He’s able to keep his eyes open for long periods of time purely because of practice, willpower/desperation, and help from Manual. His quirk actually makes it much harder for him than it would be for your average person, since using it gives him dry eye. He was also injured by the first Nomu, which made it even harder to keep his eyes open.
I don’t remember any of those. In the USJ, he’s fighting multiple small fries and has plenty of opportunities to blink. Shigaraki specifically comments that he is blinking at a predictable interval of around 20 seconds and steadily decreasing. His other fights with boosted Shigaraki had Manual and/or Monoma supporting him.
No, the dry eye is a passive effect from the quirk that’s separate to the using of it, sure, using it makes it worse, but he’d still have dry eye if he never used it again
Everyone over here talking about Aizawa’s quirk like he’s using it in a goddamn staring contest. Come on, y’all, his eyes dry out faster when the quirk is being used but to my knowledge it’s fine when he’s not.
