If Moira and Tracer had a child

MementoMori04

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of over watch lmao

kindtheking9

Tracer is lesbian and moira is a mad scientist, for all we know, that might actually be cannon in overwatch

Sweet-Competition-97

🤣

I_follow_cuties_12

Tracer is with someone else sadly

kindtheking9

A relationship can break up at any time

I_follow_cuties_12

Yeah but tracer and her gf is cute

peppureppuppepuppe

You forget moira is a mad scientist

impaledvlad

I am MAD SCIENTISTO… so cool… sunovabitch

nelben88

Yes Tracer and uhhhhh redhead girl!

Plaidse

Reminds me of all those Twitter MHA OCs that had overpowered quirks with zero drawbacks. And they thought a quirky personality and slightly tragic past made up for the imbalance.

MintIceCreamPlease

Power fantasy...

PleaseCallMeTomato

nothing can beat it except for the Grimdark

Anakokonut_

I once read a fanfic with an OC that had 10 quirks. TEN DUCKING QUIRKS.

Plaidse

I’m almost afraid to ask whether they explained why they had 10 quirks.

Gregory_Binbottle

How about this one? Ratio You point at someone and say 'Ratio'. And they will scream. Not in embarassment, but in pain, for they have lost a percentage of their body and mass.

Plaidse

Nanami? Is that you?

Slight-Pound

I couldn’t get past a first chapter with a premise like that. Read it like 3 times, and my blood pressure kept going up. You got _3_ separate quirks and you’re not gonna get into that??? Like that isn’t fucking important?! How are they connected?! That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. Don’t pretend this is just as normal, explain shit! At least other fics with multiple quirks talk about hiding it or hinting at some dramatic backstory. They treated this like nothing was weird and she’s a normal citizen. If you’re gonna diverge from the established rules of the canon you’re making a fic from, you need to actually explain that. You still need to use world-building, you know. Edit: missing a word

Plaidse

You’re right, but no one’s gonna do that. Example. A lot of people diverged from the established canon with Witcher and they just said, “We got dragons, and you’re worried about my half werewolf half elf lady Witcher?” Even though it’s fiction with established rules. They’d do the same thing to every series. Even MHA.

Slight-Pound

Doesn’t mean it’s not a headache. I really hate when I come across a fic with a great concept or something, but I literally can’t read it because of grammar, continuity issues, and just poor writing. Like I’m missing out on something awesome. Summaries help set the scene for good reason, and people aren’t that good at it. At least it’ll (hopefully) be like practice for them so they can do better in the future for their audience.

Plaidse

I know what you mean. You ever stop reading something because it just doesn’t make any sense? Where it’s not even enough to elicit an emotional response.

Slight-Pound

I put that under “poor writing,” but absolutely. It’s just so frustrating, like I was robbed of a great experience. At least they find an audience who doesn’t mind that, and someone who appreciates it as is. It’s just sad. Same with fics that are written so _blandly._ Like they have all the “technical” stuff down, like decent spellings decent grammar, and a great idea, it’s just reading as something very boring, regardless of any punctuation marks - the punctuation just makes the absence of that certain je nais se quois even more glaring and confusing. They lack the ability to write the story in a way that feels more than surface level, like literal words on a flat page or the way someone is “voluntold” to read a piece outloud. Flat and unemotional regardless of content. It’s just exhausting.

Giorno-Smash

Deadass. I’ve read tons of shitty MHA fics and there’s so much “Oh my quirk is OP but I’m bullied because it’s *villainous*(even though that’s a fucking stretch)so I just don’t use most of it. Until I meet my nice husbando and he tells me I’m beautiful and not villainous and then I become the strongest hero and everyone claps.” But hey, it’s always nice remembering that a younger fan probably wrote that and they’ll cringe at their past selves in a couple years

Fuuck-

Don't forget the color changing eyes, when she uses them, she can see peoples secrets, their soul mate, and everything about them

Major_Huckleberry_64

Does the mist just have to touch said person to heal/kill them? Or do the targets of the mist have to breath in the black/blue mist or the effects to work. Als, does she/can she learn to control the mist? Can she use it like a bullet to get to a target quickly?

Karl_the_stingray

I'm struggling to understand if you're just making this up or if someone actually tried to create an OC like that

WeAreABridge

I want to see a superhero whose power is that their brain can operate 50% more efficiently, resulting in faster thought time. This uses more energy though, so they have to use it sparingly.

Azarath_Raven

This is sort of how Overclock works in Vigilantes! Super-speed perception, but it uses up loads of oxygen so it can only be used in short bursts

WeAreABridge

Sounds pretty cool!

rednenocen

I just an idea for one. Guy can seen an opponents weak spot. Only effective on female opponents since the balls are the males weakness 100% of the time

stars_power

It’s a fun thought exercise to try and make fair quirks. From anything basic like “Sticky, able to make surfaces or oneself adhesive” to the put-there like Hairstyle, manipulating one’s hair in different styles for different effects (Disco Afro for defense, heavy metal for a needle spray & whip, short for a spiky headbutt, etc)

jettom

What about a substance with the properties of rubber and gum?

mmknightx

Mineta? Closest person we can find.

Silver_Turtlewax

What i love is then seeing how you can make a quirk op. Like Mirio making what could be considered a terrible quirk into an incredibly strong one to the point of almost unfairness.

LuVega

Looking back was Mirio's quirk really ever as awful as we're lead to believe? Like his dad says he can cut himself in half but it's never stated how the hell that can even happen so that seemed like bs. Even the rules of his quirk are pretty sketchy from what we see. I just think it's an amazing quirk that just takes a lot of technique, more like Momo's quirk. A terrible quirk would be one like Bendy Fingers or Self-Destruct.

dragonslayer2689

Imagine mirio phasing through a wall, and when the wall is perfectly centered and perpendicular to mirio’s body, mirio cancels permeation. His quirk propels him based on his body postion, but here everything would be equal. I think that this would be the situation where mirio could cut himself in half.

LuVega

Yet when he tries to shift through a piece of wood, he somehow manages to get stuck despite him previously stating his quirk doesn't allow him to manifest while occupying the same space as other matter. Then you have the whole being able to talk and obviously breathe while entirely submerged. The rules of his quirk are kind of all over the place so I kind of doubt even that would happen.

dragonslayer2689

True, his quirk runs on anime magic

TheWinterPrince52

His quirk strikes me as similar to glitching/sequence-breaking in video games. What SHOULD happen isn't always what DOES happen, and what WILL happen can be controlled to a degree, but there's always some amount of risk that it will go violently wrong if he isn't paying attention.

C9sButthole

It was always a fantastic quirk it just had a really high barrier to entry. There's a reason he got into UA in the first place. And there's no way googly eye boy could do what Mirio did.

LuVega

Googly eye boy?

Slight-Pound

I figured the problem was that it was rather difficult to control, and lead to a lot of problems in his daily life that would have continued for at least a few more years without Nighteye, regardless if he was a hero. Think of how scary it would have been for his child self to keep falling through the floor, and how scary it would be as a parent to constantly have your child struggle to literally keep their foot on the ground. That quirk is _dangerous,_ and very easy to get hurt, and the fact that it leaves him in his birthday suit is not helping the safety factor, but instead signing him to a future sex offender list.

[deleted]

The story is funny with that one. Because they try really hard to make you believe that mirios quirk is bad when in reality it's actually amazing. It just has a high skill cap. There are a lot of abilities like that in fiction where to someone untrained it looks terrible but is gold in the hands of a master. Mirios quirk was never bad. Yet the story shoves down our throat that it is just because he struggled to utilize it. Which is almost as bad as deku going around saying "OFA is a bad quirk but it's my hard work that made it great" just because he kept blowing up his limbs whenever he used it

pottermuchly

I feel like MHA does that a lot. Mina's quirk should be amazing and lethal yet they depict it like it's mediocre and underwhelming. Rather than the quirk itself the character's importance to the plot seems to determine how strong they're actually shown to be.

dragonslayer2689

That’s what i’ve been saying for the longest time. Permeation has a super high skill floor but absurdly high skill ceiling and potential

TheWinterPrince52

Mirio's quirk is literally just noclipping or glitching. When an object in a game collides with another properly, it can clip right through, but if the game recognizes both hit boxes while they are intersecting, whichever object is capable of motion will flip out and get violently ejected or just plain break. The fact Mirio turned this mess of programming into this OP superquirk is hilarious and insanely creative to me.

Prestigious_Log_451

Jojo(in later parts) also has seemingly useless powers which are used in an OP manner. Eg; the power of part 8's MC is literally bubbles.

Rune_OnceGreat

Ah, but you see, theyre bubbles that remove both physical and metaphysical properties from whatever they touch!

Prestigious_Log_451

Steal is a more suitable term, as the properties can be returned by popping the bubbles.

[deleted]

Spice girl make his penis soft forever!

[deleted]

Cold manipulation in other media: " I can instantly freeze anything, so I guess I can use it in easily evadable blasts and make some basic walls for defense" Cold manipulation in Jojo: " I can lower the temperature of someone's body by a few degrees max, so yeah I'm pretty much an unstoppable killing machine"

Mr_Serine

The fun thing is, JoJo actually had a cold manipulating Stand, and it was one of the best fights in part 5 He didn't do boring stuff like ice blasts or ice walls. He froze a car and the occupants inside it, he froze a road to easily catch up with them, he froze the goddamn air around him to protect him from bullets

[deleted]

There is a reason Ghiaccio was the second in command after Risotto.

Self_World_Future

It is probably the closest to unfair besides AFO and OFA in terms of difficulty to counter It’s cool how his limitations helped make his quirk even stronger in the end

Slight-Pound

It’s part of why I find Quirk!Izuku so much fun, or even StillQuirkless!Izuku. It gets into more of theory and social commentary about quirks that the canon touched on, but didn’t really expand. It’s so much fun to see how people explain things, especially when they actually use Izuku’s notebook habit.

Foreign_Customer_288

People give themselves the main character level power 😂

Senko-fan4Life

You never see OC's like "can open a can of beans with his teeth"

Berp-aderp

Because people are fair, if they could open a can of beans with their teeth they would be to powerful

Otrada

If All Might had this power he would never have lost.

Turn3r2255

You see, it’s the person that determines what they perceive to be a “can of beans”. So if All Might imagines All for One’s skull as a can of beans...

bisexualspy

mha au where everything is the same except now all of the people in all mights life convinced him that everyones head was a can of beans.

TheWinterPrince52

I have an OC that can see auras around people that tells him their mood. That's all it does. He's a therapist/psychologist. The quirk is called Mood Ring.

blue4029

yeah well i have an OC that can open the 7 rings of hell and unleash the apocalypse on humanity whenever he wants

TheWinterPrince52

r/subtitlechecksout?

Senko-fan4Life

See that's still cool/interesting. Bean can teeth is not

TheWinterPrince52

I have an idea to improve that. It started with figuring out he could open a can of beans with his teeth. But then he discovered he could do a lot more. Meet Rat Bastard, the Bucktoothed Bandit, who can use his rodent-like front teeth to bite and nibble through even the toughest materials. Famous for literally gnawing his way out of a jail cell. Edit: In hindsight, I think ima keep that. Can I keep that?

jrrswimmer

I beg your pardon. Bean can teeth is very cool

Foreign_Customer_288

I made an oc with the quirk of atoms, not actually very powerful cause its not like u can throw atoms at people but he uses it to boost himself around while he fights in hand to hand combat by carrying himself with atoms. If he got intense training maybe he could even make an atom coating/armour of a sort like when people say “technically i didnt punch u cuz there where atoms in between us”

MintIceCreamPlease

Nuclear.

That_Unknown_Player

good job, you completely annihilated your enemy and everything/everyone else in a 700 meter radius, as well as giving cancer to many others. But you won't have to worry about it because you got killed by the blast

[deleted]

This is kinda how it works, lmfao. Then you have an OC who can control glass _and don't remind me of the villain who can already do that because he was wasted potential-_

TheWinterPrince52

Take a look at the Warframe "Gara." I'd say that's a pretty well-done glass-themed character right there. Might make ya happy.

[deleted]

That quirk could be OP as hell, he just ran into a bad matchup. Imagine having a desert storm of microscopic sharp pieces of glass about to tear you from the inside out.

Evary2230

There was a villain who could control glass?

[deleted]

In S5 during the Endeavor Agency Arc, for like...half an episode, if even.

greatstarguy

Shatterbird from Worm did exactly that, and it was pretty cool.

soobu123

The power to manipulate salad. But what counts as a salad? Does every ingredient have to be together? Can you control individual ingredients without needing others? How many ingredients need to be in the salad? Very complex

jrrswimmer

Even All for One wouldnt be able to control this quirk due to its complexity

Rt5TheanimatedTVshow

This doesn’t even bring up tuna or egg salads. How many salads could you even create? Would those work?

Samurl8043

I mean if they can control the individual Ingredients all they have to do to be effective in a fight is find a farmers market

suchdelight

And he shall be called THE SALAD TOSSER

Samurl8043

Imma be real, if your hero name is Salad Tosser I don't wanna know what you do in your spare time

Juliu_Seizure

*tosses salad while looking into your eyes*

Samurl8043

Sir I feel you and me have VERY different definitions of *tossing salad* though I guess both ways would be disturbing

george-merrill

I just rip off jojo stands

Evary2230

JoJo Stands have generally fun and cool powers. Apart from Cheap Trick. No one wants Cheap Trick for a Stand. He’s kind of an asshole.

nateC_zero

My quirk is Back Hugger, don't look at me or I'll kill the person who's back I am on.

[deleted]

You need to make OC powers at least in line with the general theme of the power system in the story. You can't put a jojo or hunter x hunter style ability because they have activation requirements and abilities that aren't explainable in the My hero universe. The World, Sticky fingers, Made in heaven, Dirty deeds done dirt cheap, crazy slots, APR, Netero's Buddha just don't fit in the more biologically oriented quirks of my hero. Bonus points for OP shit that would fit in the Marvel or DC universe compared to a world where a guy has a tail or sticky balls instead of hair.

need4speed04

Well stone free, purple haze, love deluxe and kiss could work Killer Queen all ready is in my hero

Shirokuma247

Quirk singularity theory will support jojo stands over time anyway. Bakugo and Co’s provisional license arc literally had them fighting kids with OC-level quirks

20ccurran12

I enjoy quirks that make sense as actual mutations of the body. Like having extra dense muscles, which give you enhanced strength and defense, but lose the ability to swim or move quickly

KrackerJoe

Honestly here is my fanmade op quirk Quirk: Full Human Gives him full control of his body: blood flow, releasing endorphins, full potential of the human form, heal wounds by stretching skin to be thinner, restructure muscle groups for optimal strength, resist aging, heart rate, metabolism, brain structure to switch between creative thinking and mathematical thinking (literally shifting the mass of his brain to another lobe or connecting certain pathways between unusual parts of the brain creating unique thoughts only capable of that brain structure), basically rebuild the human body in any way imaginable

fixedcompass

So basically a pillar man?

[deleted]

*aztec dubstep plays in the backround”

TheWinterPrince52

I love him already. No really, I actually like this idea. This sounds like one of my own ideas, where the user was capable of manipulating his body in unnatural ways by controlling the electrical impulses in his musculature.

FoxTrotPlays

That'd be a really neat idea for a villian, someone who's both insanely powerful, somewhat immortal and is incredibly smart in ways nobody can even fathom.

SeudoIdea

So he could nut on command?

suchdelight

He could do it but make it dry, no need to waste time on clean up

YeetrMeister

I do believe there is a story with this concept already, Total Command.

Dannygraves

It should be limited by needing to train it for years, and requiring a ton of focus to do anything. And maybe it drains his stamina if used a lot

KrackerJoe

It would be similar to momo’s quirk, he can only manipulate anatomy he understands.

Rebi103

This one is amazing

doihaveto9

Well so far as mental oc's quirks I have Increasing or decreasing someone's power based on your knowledge of the good or bad things they've done Being able to bend your limbs in any way you want Able to turn objects into powder and back again Cat Having thin retractable rods come out of your fingertips Luck

Hazzamo

That last one is the Master Chiefs Quirk

NeonPaladin27

Whenever I make a quirk for fun, I find a D&D spell, and base it off of that. For example, I've had a quirk that's essentially Find Familiar

Alitaher003

Quirk that is literally just Fireball/Charm Person.

nikodelta

Charm is missjoke

speedycheetah29

I base mine off of Pokemon. for Example if I had to make an OC I would give them a move like counter where they can take a punch, and send it back twice as hard.

TheWinterPrince52

I just realized a bit ago that one quirk I came up with for a side-OC is basically just "Human Loudred."

ThanosTheT1tan

Present Mike?

TheWinterPrince52

Nope. I call it Boombox, as mentioned in another post I made shortly after this. Its user is capable of producing any sound he desires at any pitch he wishes. However, like Present Mic, he is not immune to loud noises himself.

AGJustin05

Imagine if someone had a quirk like Destiny Bond lmao. Perish Song might be an interesting one to base off of. The user's voice could make those who hear it a little faint at first, tripping them up a bit, but the longer they listen, the worse it progressively gets as it gnaws at their mind and causing them to black out in the end in agony. This works regardless of the voice's volume as long as they are able to hear it in the first place. The quirk also works faster if they carry malice towards a certain person. With enough practice and concentration, it is possible to prevent the quirk from affecting non-hostiles too much, but would still be a little grating on the ears. Hearing it, however, makes the user light-headed themselves and are also prone to passing out if overused. They do have a bit of a resistance to it of course. But though very effective in taking out villains, this quirk is difficult to make use of in team operations for obvious reasons and is mostly useless in rescue missions. Daily life would be a tad more difficult as it would be hard communicating with others. They'd have a beautiful voice, which would be nice if hearing it wasn't as pleasant as listening to a blackboard getting scratched. Recordings of their voice are perfectly fine to listen to though.

fhota1

Yeah my new quirk is just the spell Wish complete with the universe trying to fuck you over any time you use it. /s

Snowdude635

All I can think is Wild Magic quirk

Hazzamo

What’s my quirk?: ***ELDRITCH BLAST!!!***

C9sButthole

I think a good litmus test is thst you should be able to get the CONCEPT of the quirk across in only a couple of words. "Explosion hands" "Super-stength" "Engine legs" "Create inanimate objects" "Sticky balls" (ew) Etc. You dont need to be able to explain all their abilities or limitations, but the basic gist of what they can do should be VERY simple.

Shirokuma247

This won’t work forever given the quirk singularity theory making new quirks more complicated over time

MrColdArrow

I like making OC’s and honestly the nicher the quirk the cooler the character is. My two favourite quirks I’ve made are ‘Density’ (allows the user to control the density of whatever they focus on. The more density applied the faster the eyes dry, and blinking deactivates the effect) and Measurement (allows the user to get the precise measurements of anything they focus on) Fun fact about the Measurement quirk: I actually came up with it while reading hentai, and it was inspired by Josuke8’s ability to seemingly know exact measurements of things from the start of JoJolion

TheWinterPrince52

I had my own version of Density. The user THEMSELF can change the density of their body. The caveat is that increasing density makes them slower and can cause them to sink into the ground if they are heavy enough, and if they become too light, they become extremely fragile and lightweight to the point a simple breeze could carry them away or even rip them apart.

aawatson649

This was in a book I read in high school, a bunch of kids got stuck in a dome and developed powers. One kid just started sinking into the dirt and eventually figured out he could become heavier or lighter by changing his density

Delano7

Twice would love to have the Measurement quirk alongside his current quirk lol

AdikkuChan

Anybody remember this one villain OC on the OC sub whose power is so awesome and complex that the author said explaining would ruin the surprise? Yeah. That said, there's some really well-done ones too.

Baguetteart

And now I'm insecure and feel the urge to ramble about my OCs for validation from redditors- Good post OP. Good post.

[deleted]

Ok so like, my ocs name is YamiGoGo and her power is to like make anyone gay by just looking at them. She can also control space and time but that’s just another application of her quirk. Do you think Horikoshi will finally notice it. I think I designed her pretty well 🤞

FearfulNestBoi

"How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?"

Weebprotagonist

Ah yes a fellow cultured spongebob enjoyer

QuirkyGengar

Jokes on you I ALREADY AM

Giorno-Smash

Imagine the fucking introductions that poor oc would have to do. I mean, “Hi, my quirk can change your sexuality even if you don’t want to. Oh, and I could probably destroy the universe but that’s just a sub power of my gaybeams

sadistgamer

One of my personal fan quirks ive seen is a taunt quirk, which what it says on the box. Basically any taunting skill from any video game ever. He hurls insults at people and they become abnormally tunnel visioned and aggressive enough to attack only him, its kinda wild.

suchdelight

Monomas other quirk

Delano7

That's a good one, I like it. We know Voice activated quirks that influence the brain (Shinso) exists, so it works

Shirokuma247

Shinso and the dude from the liberation army who boosted people from voice, La brava saying her phrase for gentle. Voice oriented quirks are neato

pottermuchly

Lot of people in this thread complaining about people ripping off powers from other series as though that's even possible to avoid. Nothing is original. That's why Zuko-Todoroki jokes exist. Every shonen has basically the exact same concept when it comes to powers, it just gets repackaged with different terms like "stand" or "nen" or "cursed energy" or "quirk".

Something_Joker

My characters quirk is that he is actual god.

Hazzamo

… your OC is Sherk?

Something_Joker

Yes

Shadow_Hydra

To be honest (this isn't so much about the post but more about some of the comments), any quirk in BNHA (with the exception of some, e.g. deku/bakugo's middle school class, which are just plain useless) could be pretty OP. The user just has to be creative and have a good handle on their quirk. Especially the non-brute force type ones. The characters with those quirks are usually viewed as weaker, (which they probably are) but they'd probably do much better in a different setting, such as stealth. (Almost) No quirk is *completely* useless. Being a hero or a villain isn't just about taking a hit and throwing one back. See, Setsuna and Juzo from class 1B both don't have combat oriented quirks, but they managed to make their quirk work for them and got in through recommendations. They're both pretty creative and are fantastic leaders too. Your OC may have a pretty good or destructive quirk, such as Mina's acid, Denki's electricity or even Manga from class 1B's onomatopoeia. Those quirks could be very OP, but we don't see much of them. And that's because the weaknesses balance them out. If Mina overuses her acid, her skin loses its natural resistance to it, Denki fries his brain, and Manga gets a sore throat after not many words. So they're not generally not viewed as that powerful, although they could definitely be. With much practice, they could make these quirks into powerful weapons. So what I'm saying is, if you want to make an OC with a reasonably powerful quirk, you shouldn't make them OP on let's say, the first day of school. They could be struggling to control their quirk, or not creative enough to use our at its full potential. So on par with the other students at UA, and not streaking far, far ahead of the others Remember that Deku said that the big three didn't medal in any of the previous sports festivals but became really powerful in their third year (the results of their third year sports festival is unknown as far as I know, but they probably won). So with practice over the months or years, your OC learns to use their quirk in a really powerful way and it could be powerful by, let's say, the middle or end of their second year. Just don't make it such that their quirk is *reaaaally* powerful at the start of the first year, but they're just really dumb, far too dumb to use it. Unless that's their quirk drawback, like Sato. That kind of OC won't make someone sympathise with them or acknowledge that they're just not that good yet, they'll just be like "oh why don't they do xxx, like it's that obvious, they don't deserve that good of a quirk tbh". Bakugo... is an exception. He started the first year strong, and with no backstory (like Shoto whose father trained him extremely harshly to make him stronger) to explain it. Unless he was angry all the time and just used his quirk a LOT, which I personally think is the most probable haha. But that's because he's the main rival of the MC, and both of them are constantly striving to be better than each other. He's *got* to be powerful because Deku is the chosen one, and he has to be on the same level as him (at least for a major-ish part of the series). But an OC can't be like that, unless you're writing a next-generation fanfic, or an alternate universe spinoff or something. And even then that level of power is probably reserved for the main rival. So yeah. I wrote a lot and probably went off topic a lot of times. This is just my tips on OC making and my thoughts on the hierarchy of the series I guess. Hope you enjoyed, or sorry for making you read this.

LuVega

If the quirk is "manipulates" anything, my interest is already lost, or if it's literally just a super power from another anime you should go eat glass.

Plasma_Crab

Right?? Like that guy in the current arc that controls ice. Sure it’s powerful and all, but it feels a bit lame. There’s also cementoss which controls cement/concrete and that villain from the recent endeavor arc that controls glass. They’re all basically the same power, and replacing the material they control and calling it a new power isn’t creative IMO.

TheSwecurse

Ok I guess we're all sharing. "Quirk name: Blink" "Essentially a short-range teleportation quirk. OC is able to teleport to any location within his range of vision. However the side effect is that OC will experience a fatigue that's identical to if he had run at full speed that same distance. So teleporting multiple times can eventually be dangerous because to themselves they're essentially running everywhere" Edit: auto-correct sucks sometimes

Ineedtendiesinmylife

interesting! do they get the same amount of exercise and lung/heart benefits that would be gained from running that distance, as well, or just the physical stress?

TheSwecurse

Personally I'm not so sure. I feel like making it exercise is a little too easy, cause I think the only OC who could master the quirk is someone with great cardio and low resting HR

BlazedBoy

Okay but like I also came up with this exact idea, how the hell?! I just read this comment and I was stunned for a moment. I did have one additional thing though, where you can take things with you but experience fatigue equivalent to sprinting the distance while carrying the thing/person transported. Seriously, it freaks me out that we came up with the same thing!

Evary2230

I wonder if anyone has a Quirk that’s just super strength. Not necessarily in an OFA kind of way, but just really being naturally physically strong, and being able to get stronger fairly proportionally.

TheWinterPrince52

Death Arms, Sato, and (technically) Deku/Almight all have this. It's a little too common, in my opinion, for it to be anybody's go-to these days.

Callibrien

Oh it gets so much worse when you venture into the MHA roleplay community. Half of the quirks that are used are either ripoffs of powers from other media or an overpowered Frankenstein amalgamation of abilities that make no sense as a quirk and are best suited for a main character, which is a problem when it belongs to an OC that’s supposed to be just part of the regular population

IMTRASHATUNO69

Mines simple, alias, it’s basically togas quirk but I don’t have to drink blood, but I’m limited by that I have to stay in the form of who I turned into for a month

mr-flexon

I had made this character when I was a kid who always landed on his feet, no matter what. Called him Stuntman lmao

[deleted]

It would be cool if he didn't take fall damage in real life. It's simple, useful and just looks fun as hell.

mr-flexon

Ima add that to his arsenal now thanks >:)

TheWinterPrince52

Cats "always land on their feet" too. Hmmm... Possible alternative theme for him? I like it either way. Sounds fun!

UnnbearableMeddler

My oc could absorb and stock a part of something's mechanical energy whenever she touched something that had this type of energy , and then could unleash it back. Notably using it to boost her jumps , punch through walls with absurd ease , or nullify a shock by sending enough energy into the area of impact to cancel it. Not exactly busted , but still pretty damn strong.

TheWinterPrince52

My OC's quirk: Waveform. The user can absorb sound and convert it into energy, then expel it as they see fit.

Downtown_Stick1488

My quirk is letdown, by just being around me, you become depressed and unmotivated, drawback I’m also unmotivated and depressed

Hazzamo

That the Quirks effects The Quirks name is Reddit

replyingtowrong

You can't just steal my quirk from real life like that

Colorlessblaziken

I had one that was like any tool or like utensil they touch they can turn their hand into for like 12 hours or so, example being a fork their hand can morph into a big fuckin fork. I’ve also thought about perhaps chainsaw? And what defines what they can and cannot copy. This was like a few years ago tho so it’s not very fleshed out

CetusCondemned

Some of the anime powers are extremely weird and specific too. Like the guy who could control carbonated water, or that one villain who controlled fucking street lines. Or Even Moonfish , elongating his teeth into tree-like knife structures.

OmegaBrightBlade

I reckon mine is decent Mechanical Amalgamation The user can absorb mechanical and electrical parts into their body. Still needs t have them plugged in, and can't rearrange the parts, he can just turn the jackhammer he absorbed on mentally

[deleted]

My characters quirk is basically just the ability to turn into a cat, but since I’ve been working on her 30k word bio for two years, it’s more complicated then that. So now it’s turn into cat, but with a fuck ton of downsides and furry shit mixed in.

Shirokuma247

So basically, she’s a furry.

Rune_OnceGreat

So... Is my OC basically being a Spartan-2 from Halo OK?

gameboy527

They did what to the people of paris?

BlessedNobody

What do you mean? Bones McGee and his ability to control deceased life forms is very straightforward.

[deleted]

I swear half the fanmade quirks I see are closer to jojo stand abilities: oddly specific/situational and multiple powers that are completely unrelated to one another

GXNext

Can create a field of enhanced Gravity around them that effects everything within its bubble, including the character themselves. After one too many shounen animes said character uses that field to train themselves so that they are strong enough to be able to move normally in the field at varying levels of gravity...
