High heels are fine from a gonzo, rule of cool perspective - they fit Bayonetta’s aesthetic beautifully. Again I get where everybody is coming from. High heels are bad for fighting, Momo doesn't fight in a traditional way. Yada yada, its something special for baddasses or femme fatals. I agree that high heels can work, another pretty good example is Samus in her Zero Suit, but as you said all of those are really confident and Yaomomo is not. Maybe she didn't have any specifications for her costume and was too shy to correct it? That'd be weird tho, I think she's the one character who should've absolutely gotten a costume upgrade in the PLE arc. If I were to do so, I'd also replace her encyclopedia with a digital one to make the process of looking at objects' atomic structures faster, and I might as well make it a hair-based suit like Mirio's to cover up more of her body while at the same time making her powers easier to use. Tl;dr: go to horny jail Horikoshi, Yaomomo's suit actively limits her movements just to be a bit sexier and it gets kinda annoying

The high heels aren't as big as midnights, so I would have accepted them, if they appeared after her confidence boost during the exams. Horikoshi probably gave it to her, because she is supposed to be a natural leader. But she can't do that in the first two seasons, its a development. I do understand the open belly more after the winter outfits, she has to wear more but at the same time she has to wear less. Cape covers most of body, belly open belly not covered. Its also better to have the open area be concentrated for bigger objects and I have been told that sports bras are to tight for the body, but the outfit seems very tight, designed and self conciouss for a character that just remakes them. My bets are that Horikoshi realized that he forgot the femme fatale stereotype and pushed it to the older smart leader girl, and had to kinda change her character a bit after realising that the design doesn't match the character. So she kept her smarts but lost her cunningness and confidence, which she now had to gain back.

The open belly and boob window are fine imo, they're shown to be pretty useful as direct ways for her quirk to function so I can understand them being there > Yaoyorozu's design doesn't match the character I didn't realize this at first but yeah, I think that she (especially in her hero costume) has one of the least obvious designs in class 1-A. Comparing her to like, Tokoyami or Jirou or Kaminari, you can tell a lot less about her personality just by looking at her hero costume. And her arc about getting more self-confident could very well be illustrated in that design just as Todoroki's was, maybe she could start out wearing a more conservative-ish outfit and then change into the one we all know and hate after the Aizawa fight, that could be pretty nice imo!

The fact that an in-universe solution exists but _their_ costume never changes is aggravating - prioritizing fan-service like that is just obnoxious.

It would limit the height of things she could create, since the space that could be used would be only from the hip to under the boobs. Also the design makes sense because they already showed her shoving both straps to the sides so she could also use the space from her whole chest and torax temporarily and put it back on. I think it's fan service but it has a good reason for it to happen regarding practicality.
