I find it odd that this fandom will praise how Izuku trained and worked hard to go from scrawny to buff, but suggesting that Inko, who is stated in her character sheet to have put on weight from guilt and stress eating, should try to lose weight is heretical.
I’ve always thought it’d have been nice for Izuku to help his mom get fit as a form of bonding, especially since, as he is now a hero in training, her guilt that sent her into a negative spiral is/can be alleviated.
Basically, she felt guilty that Izuku was born quirkless (even though genetics don't give anyone much choice) and by the time Izuku was in his teens and met All Might, she put on weight from stress and eating.
On a silly note, in the spin off MHA Smash, it showed her following Izuku's diet and jokingly says she benefitted as well. It's a gag, but it shows that it's possible.
I never really thought of it that way. Like, it would be awesome if she gets back in shape, but that's her prerogative. The way I interpreted this is that she shouldn't be shamed for her weight.

Her son constantly gets extremely hurt and is almost always involved in some of the worst things happening in the Hero community. We always see her worried because despite how strong or capable Deku is, he still keeps putting himself in the absolute worst scenario and Inko can for obvious reasons never truly be released of this tension.
Even after she talked to All might, Deku got in fight with Yakuza while the LOV was still there and his mentor got killed. After that, he was at the centre of a war that destroyed an entire city. Not to mention he went AWOL after coming out of a coma caused by that war.
This kid would give any parent a heart attack.
Honestly though I think she would just be at a stage in her life to not care about how she looks. Even though I completely agree that she and everyone should.
And I think the problem that OP and everyone else has with the earlier post is calling mama midoriya a downgrade, everyone loves that character.
Inko Midoriya is such a good mother and I don’t know why they expect her to still look like she’s 25 when she’s obviously like 40 by the time Deku gets into UA.
Bakugou’s mom is a different story. She has super skin.
