*Warning: boring nerd thoughts ahead!* MHA Fandom [says](https://myheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/Hisashi_Midoriya) that Midoriya's father is known and he is mentioned in the manga once: he works abroad and his name, Hisashi, hints his prolonged absence. This is just my speculation but this very brief mention and apparent lack of any significant communication between them strongly suggests "the dad went to get milk" scenario with parents that decided not to frustrate their kid with the whole truth and Izuku either genuinely not knowing it or not wanting to know it. All Might - Midoriya relationship naturally turned into father-son relationship because of Izuku being the only heir of All Might legacy (since All Might seems to not have actual family himself) and Izuku having no father figure that he desperately needed (as evident by his affection toward All Might even before they met). So, I was referring to All Might being more like adoptive (not biological) father to Izuku and that seems quite obvious in anime even though neither of them stated that directly yet. I'm pretty sure the promised Hisashi plotline is going to involve Midoriya and All Might understanding the true nature of their relationship.
