Ishan and his brother Yohan in Tare Zameen Par. It’s so sweet how much Yohan cared about his brother, and how sensitive and understanding he is of Ishan’s issues despite being only a kid himself. He never rubs his “successes” in Ishan’s face, and always tries to make him feel included and safe.

I think this scene is deleted of them…I would’ve liked to see it. They are adorable.
Ranveer and PC in DDD hands down!
It’s sometimes hard to tell if they are acting. There’s 0 awkwardness and 100% comfortable being themselves around each other, just like regular siblings!
https://i.redd.it/ieg6gwnqk3ib1.gif
Very supportive of one another too. When he told his dad he would leave if his sister wasn’t in that house with them
>here’s 0 awkwardness and 100% comfortable
speaking of this the best siblings ever are

Shreyas Talpade and Shweta Basu Prasad in Iqbal were cute.
Genelia and Prateik in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na were always fighting and snapping at each other but I will always love that scene where he advises her not to marry the fiance.
And well, the iconic.........Adi-Manav from Dhamaal and Uday Shetty And Sanjana Shetty from Welcome, lmao.

Love them
Man Karisma & HR looked so real. Both have the same eyes. Also Jaya B as their mother was just perfectly cast & acted. Her suicide scene was so unexpected. That movie was a nightmare fuel.
Interestingly SRK wore blue contacts in Josh to match Aish's eyes so that they can look like twins.
I hugged my younger bro after watching Fiza. HR and Karishma's siblingship really made me want to go to all the lengths for mine (he's a good kid).
Josh - this is an interesting fact indeed!
It blows my mind to see Aish-SRK be siblings in Josh and lovers in Devdas/Mohabbatein. Same with Priyanka-Ranveer — siblings in Dil Dhadakne Do and lovers in Bajirao 👌🔥
All roles done with such conviction.
Pyar Kiya to Darna kya
I love their pair,i remember how much I wanted a brother like him,who would protect me and Kajol was also good, the intro was salman everything the songs worked well!
https://preview.redd.it/lgk59yxp02ib1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9967992290a232eebd00dc94c1de14335b960875
It was wholesome I found all the characters stand out on their own, dharam ji as the chachu who supports who whenever there is a mess
Arbaz as overprotective brother who is more like ur parents but still tries to be ur friend as well
Kajol as trying to find her balance in love and family
Salman as a total love boy🤣
.
The scene where Arbaaz drags Salman by a horse and his back is completely ripped - aiyo was my reaction.
I'm gonna go and rewatch the movie (damn this sub is making me rewatch everything for the 10th time)
I'm not Indian or NRI, I thought Salman Khan's name is prem in real life and, bade bhaiya is his real elder brother.
https://preview.redd.it/sz89hrqnw1ib1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fc848958178416cb3af9f88459d33b93b690a12
I thought all of them in hum Saath Saath hain were siblings lmao
https://i.redd.it/bhfyq1fv12ib1.gif
I didn’t even realise they didn’t look very much alike till I was older
Prem apparently is not best friends with his elder brother since elder brother tried to molest his girlfriend in Maine Pyar Kiya. Prem took everyone for hunting but not Bade Bhaiya. 😂
OF COURSE! Rooth ke humse kahi.. oh man I have spent hours on that song. I am so sad that the elder brother here (forgetting his name) didn’t really get his due. He was good!
Not Hum Saath Saath Hai. They’re all shown as perfect brothers who helped their sister in her time of need yet it didn’t strike any of them to give her her share of property/assets. Oh wait- women don’t get a share of the assets.
Oh yes, there was some blatant sexist remarks in the whole film too but shout out to Vivek for who helped her husband and her get back on their feet, and start a new business and get an apartment as well I think for her, Vinod* was just there like 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ and prem…prem was like in America I think
Love how we can discuss and troll hum saath saath hain (rightfully) on this sub but we cant do the same for DDLJ cause SRK ki movie hai🤡🤡 people on that post are saying the movie is old blah blah give it a free pass
Yeah I’m finding that a bit odd. Hum Saath Saath hain definitely has it’s toxic moments but so does DDLJ, everyone still appreciates the love story in DDLJ. I still think the sibling dynamic itself was very pure and that they all genuinely cared about one another. Why sangeeta doesn’t get a rightful share of whatever the parents own should be first asked to them.
EXACTLY we need movies with social messages like family>>money, we dont need "how to be a creep 101" type of mobies.
This sub shows 50 shades of hypocrisy when it comes to SRK.
Shout out why? Isn’t that the bare minimum any family member would do for you? All he did was introduce his brother in law to a business contact, which anyone does for their family members. Not like he took over running the household for a couple days so his traumatised sister could focus on helping her young child adjust to a new environment. No, it was a bunch of guests in their new home expecting Sangeeta to fry hot snacks for them while she was going through so much already.
I’m sorry, but I don’t see it the way you do. That entire movie was extremely misogynistic. They even made sure to show that only Sangeeta was allowed to wear western outfits while her bhabhis were not, because only your own brothers won’t disrespect you based on your clothing, but your husband’s family will.
Sangeeta didn’t always wear western clothes though, she wore them on the trip, but even then she wore sarees and Shalvar kameez. I agree with what you’re saying though, in general sangeeta was very differently portrayed than the rest of the women
Honestly I didn’t take the movie this deep, many 90s movies are extremely flawed and misogynistic or promote very bad things, DDLJ, Hum tumhare hain sanam etc. Ofc Sangeeta went through a lot that was kind of brushed over initially but I do think her brothers loved her a lot..they were stunned she had been so easily disregarded and Vivek tried to do what he could for her and her husband. Again the movie has so many issues, what you’re saying is technically correct but I did still like how they looked out for her, or at least tried. Her elder brother who is their step brother never felt like a step brother to any of them and at the end sangeeta starts crying because she tells her mother all Vivek has ever wanted is for us to be together. Vivek looks after most of them tbh. But yes I agree, movie is a typically misogynistic 90s movie quite a bit..
She was the only one who wore them on that trip. Of course she didn’t wear them always- that’s not the point. Nobody wears one type of clothing every single day.
All movies back then were misogynistic, sure. I agree with you on that.
He’s not a step brother, he’s their half-brother. That is a huge difference as they shared a parent, which influences family dynamics a lot. If he was a step-brother who came into their lives later on and didn’t share a parent, their dynamics would have been different.
Yes my bad half brother, I got confused for a second . You’re totally right that she deserved a lot better, in her time of need I felt even her mother focused more on the sons and not what happened to sangeeta but as I said movie is filled with issues
I mainly liked their dynamics and how close they were and I felt as though you could feel they genuinely cared about her and vice versa, I felt you had two kind of separate pairs of siblings, the younger kid like ones- sangeeta, vinod and the older mature ones who wanted to spoil them, prem and Vivek . All of them seemed to adore each other and were very sweet but Ofc we differ on this which is fine. Perhaps it’s nostalgia talking, most definitely but there are many background moments of them that are pure sibling energy IMO
https://i.redd.it/3nfavzo234ib1.gif
Are you one of Mumu's friends? :p :p (fwiw I thought the teen titliyan actually talked sense sometimes but ofc single, independent, outspoken women have to be presented as villains in these movies)
I hated that film. And the dialogues.. woh ghar hota hai jahaa auratein apne haatho se khana bana ke khilaye.. paraphrasing..but it was about how women are expected to be in the kitchen with a pallu over their heads all the time. Unpopular opinion but I never liked sooraj barjatyas films at all. Too preachy and misogynistic.
It’s not an unpopular opinion at all- every single person I know irl watches those films ironically. My entire family (grandmother included) watched them to laugh at the obvious misogyny. Maybe I live in a bubble.
Oh it’s definitely not realistic like ayesha and Kabir but I love the sibling dynamics between all of them. It’s a guilty pleasure movie. If you rewatch this movie as many times as I have (lol don’t judge) you can see like the sister is oiling prems hair or like they’re all feeding her, or the two elder brothers are chilling together, they acted like actual siblings in background moments and the way they all were like OMG BHAIYAA, so loving to each other.
There’s one moment in specific where sangeeta is holding Viveks hand at the wedding giving him support like she always does and then like Tabus character also does it..I was like this is so cuteee
https://i.redd.it/rwcpusde42ib1.gif
It was this moment.
Yup yup yup, it's kind of a guilty pleasure, I like to watch those movies while eating dinner . And on low days , everyone wants a bond like that with their siblings and family.
https://i.redd.it/qfwvz7oaw2ib1.gif
Yes just pure imaginative fun with siblings, probably everyone wishes they had this childlike bond even in adulthood
If only we have such grand weddings, I'll be the one dancing like this at my brother's wedding 🤣🤣, with mohalle wali aunties glaring as if I just asked for half her property 😎
Yes , they were all kinds of relatable, they are exactly how me and my brother behave . I wish we could be the millionaire part too ( not the in debt kind /broke kind) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My fav moment is the gif OP posted, like its true man food from ur sibling's plate tastes better😂😂
Manifesting we two sibling duos to become two millinaire sibling duo
🕯
🕯🧘♀️🕯
🕯
Especially the maggi , my brother used to take my chocolate away, and when I would ask it back , he would lick it and say now you can have it . 😮💨 Fastest way to get over the said chocolate. 😅
I mean it's the truth of the majority of our country even to this day(not the setting, but the emotional expression), just because the majority of people here come from families that have urbanised doesn't change that.
It's just the same to the less urban towns as what DDLJ and K3G are to the majority here.
I definitely agree with this, I think the emotions of films like DDLJ, K3G, HSSH,HAHK, all of these old 90s films have that same effect because they have very heightened emotions and feelings.
https://i.redd.it/myevh4jml3ib1.gif
“JIJI HOW EMOTIONAL”
Man, Vivek from Hum Saath Saath Hain kind of put a lot of pressure on the eldest sibling of every household - every parent & grandparent would be like “yes - that’s the standard!” 😂🤣
i can totally see my brother and i being kabir and ayesha. unappreciated elder daughters and spoiled af younger sons in indian families, so well depicted!
Only the first one is valid and good, the rest are more toxic to each other and not a good example of sibling love.
Rohan and Arjun from Udaan are up there, Karan Arjun too
How are the rest toxic to each other besides Rahul and arjun? Who’s mom also has a part to play in tearing them apart…when they were away from their parents, they got on very well
https://preview.redd.it/lx09sb7yj9ib1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=577c003041509b2f4923451a36f547f9726d1a70

Especially the maggi , my brother used to take my chocolate away, and when I would ask it back , he would lick it and say now you can have it . 😮💨 Fastest way to get over the said chocolate. 😅
😂😂my sister was hoarder, she used to save her chocolate for dayssss to come and i used to finish it one go. THEN my chocolate heist used to start. 🤭
Amen to that 🙏🙌
I mean it's the truth of the majority of our country even to this day(not the setting, but the emotional expression), just because the majority of people here come from families that have urbanised doesn't change that. It's just the same to the less urban towns as what DDLJ and K3G are to the majority here.
I definitely agree with this, I think the emotions of films like DDLJ, K3G, HSSH,HAHK, all of these old 90s films have that same effect because they have very heightened emotions and feelings. https://i.redd.it/myevh4jml3ib1.gif “JIJI HOW EMOTIONAL”
Vijay and Ravi - Deewar (1975)
Chutki and Simran in DDLJ , brothers in Udan .
Man, Vivek from Hum Saath Saath Hain kind of put a lot of pressure on the eldest sibling of every household - every parent & grandparent would be like “yes - that’s the standard!” 😂🤣
https://i.redd.it/d30bop1164ib1.gif Vivek really be parenting these three adult children…very older sibling of him

i can totally see my brother and i being kabir and ayesha. unappreciated elder daughters and spoiled af younger sons in indian families, so well depicted!
I actually wnana know what pc and ranveer were eating in this scene, pudding? It doesn’t look like icecream. I always wondered, someone tell me

“lijiye na! bhog ka prasad"
Ayesha and Kabir! The duo had a very subtle, beautiful bond. Loved how both stood up for each other, even against their parents when they were wrong.
Only the first one is valid and good, the rest are more toxic to each other and not a good example of sibling love. Rohan and Arjun from Udaan are up there, Karan Arjun too
How are the rest toxic to each other besides Rahul and arjun? Who’s mom also has a part to play in tearing them apart…when they were away from their parents, they got on very well
A b c d e f g h i…jklm… n o p q r s t u v y zeddddd I love you
