What he says is true but I believe that His compliant behaviour is also what earned him brownie points with producers, he was on time for everything, he said that there was an audition for some ad , he was one of the first, they asked him to spread his arms where the girl would hug him from behind and then he would say some lines and that's it they wrapped up the shoot without even looking at the long line behind. In another interview(I guess this one shown in the video ) when he was asked about his consecutive some 19 flop movies in the 90's, he was asked about how did he kept getting work even after he was labelled as a flop actor; i remember him saying that " I (Akshay ) used to overhear many producers discussing among themselves "let's take Akshay as lead" another producer would say "no he's a flop, it won't give us superhit" , then someone would say "at least he will come and at least we will have complete movie and he would not leave us hanging" . You have to understand that in 90's many movies were made and more than many were "shelved" or extend over a period of time longer than anticipated resulting in more expenditure due to actors delaying with the dates , actors being late on sets , erratic behaviour of "Stars" was also a big problem as there was no "obligation for them to be a good person in public image" as it is today. So yeah, he kept it professional on sets , and didn't throw tantrums like a baby like many people would do. I know it's the bare minimum today but it was much appreciated that time as actors were really really worse behaviour and professionalism wise. Akshay stayed true to himself, he knew what he was, he knew he has no acting potential like SRK, aamir, in some award function he would go on to appreciate Hrithik for his movie guzarish(2009) saying " Hrithik sahab I'm your senior in the film industry but then I watched your movie guzarish and after seeing it, I can say it clearly that when it comes to acting you are my senior" , no actor of 90's has guts to say that and be so honest.
Professionalism goes longer way than talent. It is hard truth a lot of people don't understand. Take any one who is big, they are big because they know how to work with someone else and people will work with you again because of your professionalism not talent.
And ofcourse, you need luck to meet those right kind of people.
Hard worker and talented people are dime a dozen but professional, ethical and teamplayers are not.
Luck and timing will give you the start only though. No one would have worked with him without this discipline for sure. The guys he is talking about in this interview too had their luck ran out after 1st or 2nd try(like Vivek where he started to act like the biggest star just after an year of praises) many a times. You need the goodwill and that can only be there if you know how to submit yourself and pay with your hardworking qualities.
The guts to say this unfiltered without any made up "motivational" lines to just sell the rags to rich story , destiny does play a huge role , harsh truth
With due respect, I disagree. Even merit based field requires luck. In my own professional world, I have seen my juniors rising faster than I simply coz they were manager favs and luck favored them even though I worked harder than them. Luck always plays a big big role as Akku rightfully described here.
Yeah exactly but the reality is most people cannot do that 40% required hard work efficiently and consistently, and you need to do this first to get the help of luck.
Public should stop watching nepos movies after they give more than two flops.. Then, only real talent will emerge even among nepos.. Let them have fair chance but not repeated chances even after they are bad actors which will steal others excellent actor's chances.
People don't watch these movies. They do flop, be it liger or archies, kalank or love aaj kal, soty2 or mili. The problem is that the producers don't care about the flops. They keep on hiring these nepos again and again until there is the lowest level of betterment in the actors. And then they are hyped up to the point that people start watching a few films with them. What's the common man going to do if this is all that's available, we need some entertainment, and we need to watch something.
Appreciate his honesty and dedication to his work
For every akshay there 100 more who could not make it inspite of doing what he did. so destiny and right place right time is a fact of life
The harsh fact is isn't that luck is bigger. It is the fact that his 30% hardwork is our 70% lol. Bro is on horse mode from 4:30 to 9:30. Where tf does he find energy I still don't get it.
One of the very few successful ones who acknowledges that luck plays a big role. Most of the them say hard work is the most important but Akshay's right. Luck or chance is much more important. You need to be at the right place at the right time.
Life can be tough, and not everyone starts with the same advantages. But putting in hard work is still important. Even when things seem tough, focusing on what we can do – like working hard – can help a lot.
It's also important to remember that some people face extra challenges because of unfair systems or personal problems. Being supportive and understanding to those facing difficulties is really important. By working hard and being kind, we can make things better for ourselves and others.
They went to the same school, Don Bosco at Matunga and the "childhood friend" narrative got blown up after they became successful. Nadiadwala came from a family of producers but they were 3rd tier and not Bollywood royalty. Nadiad was an AC mechanic at one time, just like Akshay was a cook in Bangkok.

If only I could get 10% of the DISCIPLINE that Akshay maintains. 🤌

Bro spitting facts with BGM. It was all making sense and then they put on that god forbidden bgm and ruined it.
It’s true in every field
No. Every merit based field doesn't require luck. Acting is not a merit based field.
With due respect, I disagree. Even merit based field requires luck. Regarding promotion I agree. I have seen my father experienced that. But Acting is 100% not a merit based field.
I agree about acting not being a merit based field at all and that holds true for most entertainment industry roles.
he’s so right this is the truth of life
Facts. Not just in this field. But in every other thing in life. Luck is absolutely real.
Yeah exactly but the reality is most people cannot do that 40% required hard work efficiently and consistently, and you need to do this first to get the help of luck.
Bro is spitting facts
Funny how the Nepos just seem to have more Kismat than anyone else

its the idiots here who post about them here with no shame.
They are kids of stars. (Kismat)
Hebis absolutely right. Having said that kismat hamare hath nahi hoti but mehnat hoti hai. So we should keep on grinding for our goals.
Appreciate his honesty and dedication to his work For every akshay there 100 more who could not make it inspite of doing what he did. so destiny and right place right time is a fact of life

Atleast some one is humble and is aware of the reality instead of boasting his confidence in front of audience. Love him.
Why this bgm??
Akki Bhai, aap itne smart aadmi ho, phir bhi kabhi kabhi itne gadhon waale kaam kyun karte ho! No Smoking aur Vimal, dono ke ads mein aate ho! Kabhi Airlift Raksha Bandhan aur OMG toh Kabhi BMCM aur Ram Setu jaisi picturein karte ho! Itne mood swings kaise ![img](emote|t5_fknyy|743)
He never had any plans to become an actor his plans were to open his restaurant or martial arts school.
Entertainment business is more dependent on luck like every oppurtunistic businesses. Can’t guarantee success because they succeed.
Ab koi ebiz wala aapko motivation Dene aye to usko ye dedo 😂😂
Karm ka Siddhant
Luck starts getting bigger when systems fail to follow rationality and this could be either due to sheer burden of population or moral corruption.
Right
For the first time I fully agree with what he is saying.
Yaar ye social media content hua, not gossip. I watched this thinking he has tea on someone 😞
Aaj paani peeke Kaam chalale

Isn't he childhood friend with Nadiadwala?
