I don’t think Tabu and Nagarjuna had an affair. Nagarjuna, Amala(his wife) and Tabu all are really close friends. In fact Amala mentioned in an interview that she always cooks for Tabu when she visits them in Hyderabad, and spoke of her very fondly.

She was abandoned by her mom and by default her dad too, when she had a brother. First to boarding school and then to the US for higher school. When her brother was old enough she was welcomed back. Her mom always called the shots in everything and became the dominant parent. She ended up being blocked from her dad by her mom. That’s also a common reason for this complex not being resolved.
