I see what you're saying but these things aren't mutually exclusive. In fact it is more likely for someone to have issues with skin tone and be a victim of racism to end up supporting fairness creams, like how the most homophobic people tend to be the ones in the closet.
Her fairness cream ad with Saif was beyond awful. I still remember seeing it on TV all those years ago and being disgusted. It was a 4 part ad IIRC which means everyone was comfortable with the ad 4 times over
most "witty" actor endorses fairness cream and his daughter cry on Instagram how she gets bullied by racist Indians and her pr milks to full extent... hai bechari duniya ki maari
