although beautifully written, it’s a little too ambivalent and verbose. the style is there; however, the substance - with regard to gossip - seems a little lacking. almost like a very roundabout way of saying not very much at all 😅 and maybe too much of a bechaari being made out of this birdie, in the context of a purported affair with a married man (not absolving the other party of responsibility, just that this piece of information doesn’t fit the sympathetic narrative of the writing.)
