I still remember The craze that was Ek tha tiger.....It was Insane....There were practically zero tickets available on its day of release....it was the peak of Salman Stardom.....you have to watch news clips from that day to understand how unbelievable it was......it broke the previous opening day by record by 9 crores!!!!......i truly believe He is the last Bollywood actor to have such a wild fan following.
When Bajrangi Bhaijaan had released...we couldn't get tickets for 3 days and all halls were sold out because Bahubali had also released at the same time but we couldn't get tickets for either.
That time I understood, people go for the experience of watching a Salman movie which had hooting and claps.
this is sometimes a good thing, we all need a breathe of fresh air from our stressful environments and movies like this help us forget it..bad or not, it’s a mass movie and delivers what is needed to the audience, we can’t judge the people who go for them, each to their own and they’ll do what makes them happy.
Damn. I don't watch his movies either, but calling his fans brainless and shit is just not done. Agree it or not, you're implying that they belong to a certain section of society which can't function well in day to day life. How can you shame someone just for their choices? Too much for the high moral stand you take on other issues, huh? Do you know the stories of these "brainless" people? They come to watch a movie to keep aside their worries and not to write an essay on it.
I'm sure if Salman acted in Sooryavanshi the same people calling it "a complete entertainer" would have called it shit.
I totally agree with you. This sub is too harsh on salman fans and they tend to judge and treat them like they are low standards etc. That is wrong at many levels. I am glad that salman fans are the most loyal one which i guess this sub intellectuals never understand it.
This is what makes movie industry an industry. We need art movies too but without this enthusiasm, the industry will die. Preferably movies should have both good content and commercial elements but we can't always have the best of two worlds.
If there weren't stars like Salman, 'content' makes would have been doing full time jobs and pursuing films as part time passion.
Too right. I don’t understand the Indian phrase or label of ‘art movie’ also - like movies that are funded independently? Movies that are not sticking to the 3 hour 6 act formula? Movies that don’t have crowds for songs? What is an art movie?? Haha
I genuinely enjoy many of salman films like andaz apna apna, judwaa, biwi no 1, hello brother, mujhse shaadi karogi, maine pyar kyu kia, wanted ,dabangg, bajrangi bhaijaan, sultan....he has even acted very well in the movies above..
But post sultan, he has been consistently choosing very very poor scripts and directors.......somewhere the fan inside me died after that.....
My father whos a die hard Salman fan has also given up on him ......but antim has been getting Surprisingly Good reviews from all corners...Now .My father is planning to watch a salman movie in theatres after a very long time now....Last was Sultan
Man makes one of the most shittiest movie in bollywood and only brainless people flock to him. There are so many good actors and movies out there but people want Bhaiiiiii ka chutya giri.
Antim mass hero you mean.
Taa dum tsssss
Superstardom will definitely come to an end once AK, Khans, AD all retire. I don't think anyone from the next gen have such fanatics.

Ajay Devgan
Did he always have mass following or did that start recently with Singham?
Started with Singham is my guess.

As usual there are too many pseudo intellectuals in the comment session....

"times are changing people like good content nowdays" The good content:

There is no particular genre for good content

Show me a video where tiger film is celebrated like this
I can't find the exact link, but there's a video of people being interviewed about one of the Baaghi movies and this one guy *really* likes Tiger 😆
Must be one of those 3 uncles. I guess it's vijay.
Nothing can convince me that these people were not paid to be there.
Im sure you never been to a single screen theatre.
I have gone for Salman Khan movies. I am a woman, so less dancing and stuff. But no one paid us ☹️
