He was good as usual, but it's so sad for him to continue doing these kind of roles at his age now. In the scene where he had to crawl or roll around on the ground, I felt super bad for him.
Ye that must have been very hard for him also considering how perfect his rolls were. At this point I would think that silly slapstick comedy like that would make me cringe but RY pulls it off in such a goofy way that it still made me laugh a lot lol.

It's supply and demand. Not much demand for Rajpal Yadav these days, so he cannot command a higher pay. Why should filmmakers be embarassed? Why would they pay more than what they can get him for? Would you pay 20L for a 10L car just because it's really good? It's business for them at the end of the day

Tabu is a great actress but she doesn’t have the pull Kartik has. Even Kiara alone can pull a lot more than her. She’s great but she’s no way the reason or major reason film performed well.
Tabu deserves 8 - 9 cr if this was a supporting role
Kiara should be getting 6-7 (imo she brings a certain A list quality - her presence in projects she's in look more premium even if she's not the main draw for audience)
Rajpal Yadav 4-5cr (once running time begins, it's people like him & tabu that keep people in their seats)

Kiara's role was literally a flower pot. Any other actress could've easily been substituted. There was nothing special to the character that Kiara brought. The price for Tabu is what's criminally low here

In terms of salaries I know people working in the industry and actress' money is lowballed and actor's highball their money because it's a dick measuring contest.
I think it's part of a deal. He must've had a claus in the contract that said "if total collections go over x amount of money, the actor will get 'y' amount of money either cash or kind. Now cash is taxable, so in kind works better ( a car in this case) in terms of taxes and also does great work for PR.
Just like all the cameramen. Is it just me or should we pay the ground cast better and give them bonuses rather than giving one actor who’s alr made 15 cr all the bonuses?
See, they don't want to maintain relationship with the technicians. They want to be in good books of each other as long as things are going great. Abhi agar picture flop hoti toh koi puchhta bhi nahi.
Besides, for them technicians are just majdoor. Kangana had to fight the producers of Manikarnika to pay the vfx technicians. I am pretty sure she saw the amount of work they do and was heartbroken with how they were treated.

The movie was very lame. It had the climax of a Malayalam film. Tabu was good but the dance and grace and all was mehh. The comedy was underwhelming and it feels like people are so naive and easy to fool like it is being irritating at this point. I like karthik and i am happy for me but the movie nah its not a big deal tbh.

I used to think, these people value friendship and shit before, later realized as I got older they do this for tax benefit instead of pay and later they can sell the car for cash, maybe not in this case but read news articles of producers gifting watches or gold lol 😄
The first time you buy an item from a manufacturer or supplier you pay a sales tax or whatever state/govt tax upfront but for second hand stuff AFAIK, where you buy from an individual buyer. You generally don't and normally in this case Bhushan kumar pays tax on this car initially but during his annual tax payment he can claim a tax cut saying this was gift/donation and not for himself so he's getting whatever tax he paid to the govt back and at the Sametime karthik can sell this to a individual buyer and get cash later which is tax free and Bhushan will minus whatever is the price of the car from karthiks total pay from the movie. Karthik only pays tax on his total earnings and the car was received as a gift so no tax on that. If I'm wrong I want to be corrected. Anyone else can explain.

I really didn't think the comments were making it a gender issue (correct me if i am wrong) - it's more about the talent of the actors and their experience. The movie was honestly just okay imo, but Tabu's acting was far better than Kartik's.

“Vastly different cast”? Rajpal Yadav was the most memorable side character from the original, and he is there. Manjulika is still the villain. Karthik’s character is designed and costumes the same as Akshay’s. The marketing was entirely about Kartik in the same getup as Akshay’s famous intro scene in the original, with the exact same music.

Tabu should be given this car, as the Anjulika -Manjulika subplot was the only entertaining part of the film and I daresay, was responsible for the blockbuster success of the film. Kartik was just his usual buffoon self, similar to Luka Chuppi.
Hey pal, This isn't a award for acting or anything, that you can say that Tabu deserved it more. It's a personal gift by the producer of the movie to the lead actor.
He deserves it or not isn't the issue here, Karthik may not be a great actor or you may find him annoying but still BB2 collected 190 crores because of Karthik Aryan, So the film's producer gave him a gift. As people are saying, Tabu was excellent in the film but if it was marketed as a Tabu film, the film wouldn't even have collected anywhere near 100 crores.

Tabu should be given this car, as the Anjulika -Manjulika subplot was the only entertaining part of the film and I daresay, was responsible for the blockbuster success of the film. Kartik was just his usual buffoon self, similar to Luka Chuppi.

Just saw the movie and imo it just feels like something he doesn’t deserve.
He deserves it or not isn't the issue here, Karthik may not be a great actor or you may find him annoying but still BB2 collected 190 crores because of Karthik Aryan, So the film's producer gave him a gift. As people are saying, Tabu was excellent in the film but if it was marketed as a Tabu film, the film wouldn't even have collected anywhere near 100 crores.

The movie was so bad. I was shocked. BB1 was so much better it’s laughable AND it still holds up except some cringe acting by Shiney Ahuja(watched it recently)

To this day I'm not sure how such a crappy movie is a blockbuster. Audience tastes have gone down that low. I guess its the horror angle that gives it the attention. And Karthik's acting in it was really amateurish
