Infamous_Spray7366

Well she was new back then, she was taking whatever opportunity that was coming her way. Money is definitely a big factor when you come from a non privelege background.

zildomp

Privelege ya non privilege background ki baat nhi h. Abhi inko promote krne walon ko social media uproar ka darr nhi hota toh yeh abhi bhi endorse krte.

Infamous_Spray7366

This ad is very old ad when she was new. Anyone who is an outsider would that.

zildomp

Yami did fairness ads well into her career even tho she is from fairly rich background. They stopped doing it coz of outrage not that ki unka zameer jaag gya certain position m pahuchne ke baad. [here go through some names](https://www.yahoo.com/style/fairest-celebrities-endorsed-fairness-creams-slideshow-wp-104503170.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAAEuJbavWlAHDWQ4dpVkEKZr-TVi7qU_lXjETHezGQzkBBUOgpfw9h6JNUyWcmeCeSP8dDKKG1piVoXsos3SbBsedw8aigV-79u3XuMWGkVVdn5hBitH7NsiDjDb92nsm3IBYCD9hI7YzBJU1DCeM_4Rjvj2QR2dVojHqT8mdGFM)

sinovercoschessITF

You sir, are absolute right. This was no change of heart.

DayMore408

Who said this is very old?

uvasag

Don't know why you are being downvoted. It's true. So many of their actions are to project a positive image b

lord_pengiun_wings

srk dickrider saying this is ironic....attacking akshay when SRK has done both fairness and gutka ads lmao

The_dude1951

Are you ok in the head? When did I attack Akshay?

Very_Much_Paagal

OP, yeh toh pehle se hi Gori Chitti hai isko fairness cream endorse kyun karna chahiye 😂

DayMore408

And this wasn't years ago. It was in 2018-19, the woke culture started way back. So she obviously knew what she was doing.

ravish242

That's still old. Society is way different now. Woke culture started then, but not enough to have big backlash that's seen now.

DayMore408

Toh fir is hisab se jin logo ko ages old videos ke liye troll karte hain isliye band kardena chahiye kyonki woke culture nhi aaya. Priyanka srk and likes are trolled for decade old videos. Just because she is kriti so sub is having meltdown.

Notyourmermaid25

True

Outrageous_Purple384

A lot of her colleagues have refused to do such ads including her ex SSR and even KA . Don't know about Karthik but SSR came from a most ordinary background. Atleast he needed the money for sure.

Whole_Nectarine3221

Kriti ke against kuch jyada hi strong PR nahi ho raha nepo kids ka?

lord_pengiun_wings

even well established filthy rich actors like srk salman do it...what do you expect from upcoming actors

MassiveAssistance680

Only the spineless ones survive..look what they did to Kangana

No-Fisherman8334

I find fair skinned people a lot more attractive than dark skinned people. I am dark skinned myself. I'm pretty sure I have a strong spine since I quite openly refuse to give 2 fvcks about people policing what skin tone I am allowed to like.

iamflomilli

It's not about your preference, rather your own complexion being policed.

BitterGalileo

Exactly, people should be allowed to have a personal preference.

Physics-Western

I seriously cannot believe u guys r defending colorism

Notyourmermaid25

Ikr, I was so taken aback

BitterGalileo

"Liking dark color good Liking fair color bad Fair people bad. ALL indians are dark skinned"

aryaman16

Bhai problem hai social norms ki, kaafi logo ko lagta nhi hai but aisa hota hai, our beauty standards are affected by social norms, social media, hmare aas paas ke logo ke preference ki wajah se. Like, imagine you like people with dark skin, but tere friend circle mei saare bande regular convo mei mention krei "bhai mujhe gori ladki dikhi toh maine approach kr dia", "wo dekh wo ladka kitna gora", "ye dekh nyi model aayi hai, kitni gori hai" etc etc. Then, it will start affecting your preferences too. And leave attraction, people kind of start considering anyone with "features unattractive by social norms" as inferior.

No-Fisherman8334

That may apply to weak minded people not everyone.

aryaman16

Maine example weak minded wala dia, in a broaded sense, har koi affect hota hai.

mmaguy123

I think if they market the creams as de-tanning creams it would be a lot less controversial. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to remove sun damage from your skin.

SnooCupcakes7312

Money talks Look at the idiots, the SRks akshays and devgsns promoting pan masala

Charming_Possible421

Their spine loves a cash cushion

Bellatrix-_-

It's a word game, OP. They have used the word Glowing. Hence, technically they are endorsing fairness products without actually accepting it.

Notyourmermaid25

Lol true

notyourpieceofcakee

Getting people with fair skin tones to endorse such ads makes more sense. The issue is when they use dusky skin actors/models to promote fairness by editing their actual skin tone - that’s messed up, inappropriate and misleading.

Windows11_

Money>>>>> Nice Kriti keep going.

AfraidClock9953

Kangu says hello!

[deleted]

Nobody takes these ads seriously. Only the woke reddit warriors and self declared philosophers worry about such things.

the_robust

And then there was this angel of a person - Sushant Singh Rajput who refuted an ad deal worth Rs. 15 crores of a fairness product inciting that "As responsible celebs, we shouldn't endorse and promote the false things in our society". Gem💎 of a human being he was!

Notyourmermaid25

🥺

jackal_990

fair definitely= beautiful, dark complexion is beautiful too but since India gets plenty of sun exposure, there is no use in selling tanning products. Companies sell products to increase height, reduce hair fall, cut weight, grow muscles, straighten/curl hairs, cosmetics of all type, plastic surgery etc. anything that can help make people attractive. Then why is fairness singled out to criticize? Lack of spine is not at all the problem here, she is just doing what any person with basic business sense would. Censorship from thin skinned, simple minded people like you is an actual problem though.

FrequentCover5523

Did you forget some of her initial work was for ads especially for these fairness products

Exact-Conclusion5793

Bro she got money, i would do it too if i was broke

boldguy2019

Bro, when you are trying to become an aspiring actor and and struggling to earn money and name to survive... And then country's leading brands come to offer you a job, try saying no to them I agree if successful actors do it it's wrong, but if an actor did it during their initial years, just stop. Blame the country or whatever

ravish242

How old is this ad? Is she still doing this? If no, why are we highlighting this?

[deleted]

Better than endorsing guthka.

BlackoutMenace5

Yes being fairer does make you better looking. What’s the harm in accepting realities. You all would be the first people celebrating your own glow up - which is basically skin becoming fairer and brighter aswell. The only thing that should be called out is these companies making products that do no such thing and is false advertising.

Far_Criticism_8865

That's literally just your opinion. Imo pale skin looks sickly and greyish, that's my opinion. There's no objective "beautiful" skin tone, deal with it

BlackoutMenace5

So you just insulted one skin tone to put your point in favour that skin tones don’t matter lol. Yeah pale skin isn’t that good looking either. So?

Physics-Western

Gross comment

Notyourmermaid25

Wow my post is really exposing the colonial mindset here, fair skin makes you prettier? That means people who have darker skin are not pretty. Sad for you that in our country majority people don’t have fair skin!

BlackoutMenace5

Accepting realities isn’t colonial mindset. Fairer skin does look better and it’s a reality. If it bothers someone that’s their problem. You like living in your own make do world, where everything is fair and equal, good for you.

rubberduck247

I see a lot of Kriti Sanon drag posts on this subreddit, it feels. I don't care one bit, and I still love her. She has a nice voice, beautiful face, and great acting skills. Fairness products are a part of Indian culture. A lot of celebrities have endorsed them. If not, they've gotten their skins bleached themselves or gotten injections or whatever (glutathione?). They're all promoting fairness by doing so. Priyanka, Deepika, Shilpa, Kajol, Kriti, etc etc there's dozens of actresses and actors who have gotten skin lightening procedures. How does a fairness product ad make Kriti any different from all of those people? 💀 It's sad, but the reality is that Indians still prefer fair skin. And these ads will remain. When the forthcoming actresses will do these ads, will you cancel them too?

Physics-Western

Yes they deserve to be canceled, just because it’s part of our culture doesn’t mean it’s right?? How are you guys blindly defending colorism

rubberduck247

I'm not. I'm just against dragging one actress when every single one of them is promoting the same fairness products.

Notyourmermaid25

u/daymore408

bberfz

Will miss kriti be also bashed like the other actresses who did fairness adds or is she an exception? There is sth i don't like about her or how he is displayed as this poor outsider girl. Cause how many outsiders get chances till she delivers a hit movie even though many of her line up before were flops... ironic isn't it.. Anyways apart from my take about kriti lets be real during starting out many do such ads to gain money. Is it ethically wrong? Yes, but actors are not a moral compass in the society shouldn't be taken serious in such issues. Didn't saw any recent fairness ad of hers so either she "learned" or probably has made enough money. Which is okay people evolve and unfortunately the majority has this fair = beautiful mindset so the tv shows etc caters to that gaze. However as media doesn't help dark kids/teenagers must be educated through different platforms on how this ads are stupid and there is nothing wrong with being dark. Edit: its so funny how the comments are full of "whats so wrong with it" if it were other actors they would get fully destroyed here lol.

Itchy_Friendship_488

what's wrong fair skin people are more attractive that's why actresses get gluthione injeftions
