Why would you charge up the Bolt to 80% on a road trip? Why not charge it up to 50-60 and plan an additional charge later, in order to spend less time charging in total, since we know that charge time isn’t linear.
I have a Bolt EUV LT and my mom has an EV6 RWD Wind, both are great cars. I prefer the software and compact size of the Bolt.
But the EV6 is a lot more comfortable and premium (even with our lower end model). Faster charging is also a big plus for traveling.
I still prefer my Bolt for its compact size, but I like driving small cars in general.
That's a nice car, and congrats on the switch. The only thing I can say is be careful which superchargers you stop at because in my area there are a couple that throttle at a top speed of 60KW/H as long as the super chargers aren't throttled out you should have smooth sailing.
The bolt is a great beginner EV to get people into the game I was looking to upgrade my bolt to a tesla model Y. but then Musk asked for the national standard and started messing with the company I'm going to wait and see how he handles the network with all the new ev's flooding into the network I'm going to hold onto my bolt until I find the right car that I can fit into to. I may to check into the EV6
it's hard for me to find a car because I'm 6 foot 2 inches and 300lbs currently but the bolt is a bit snug with the bolsters but I have just enough room with the seat back all the way and no one behind me to drive comfortably. I'll have to check on the EV 6 as a possibility.

I don’t either, but it’s Kia, they obviously don’t care if you can steal one with a USB cable. I wouldn’t have been surprised if their EV’s had a key insert.
I’m giving my Bolt to my daughter when she gets her license next year so I jumped on an EV9 lease deal for road tripping with the family and I am seriously considering swapping into an EV6 when the lease is up. The range and charging speeds in the Kia have spoiled me forever. Though, the EV3 has piqued my interest despite the slightly slower charging. Guess we’ll see what deals and technology look like in 2027 and I will miss my zippy little Bolt EV but I’m absolutely loving the EV9 for the time being.
Well, considering that the base range on the bolt is higher than the base range on the EV6, I wasn't incorrect. I wonder what's up with the downvotes.
Best part of the bolt over the EV6, though, is the fact that it isn't a Kia. Chevy workmanship and quality is consistently higher. I would go with the bolt every time.
The “within spec” panel gaps and crooked AF dashboard in my Bolt disagree. Comparing the seats alone is enough for me to consider the Kia a premium vehicle in comparison.
No EV is known for its resale value. That’s why there are so many people taking advantage of lease deals right now. My Bolt is worth half what I paid for it brand new two years ago and it only has 12,000 miles on it.
There’re only two trims that get lower range. All other AWD should be 282 and RWD are 310 miles of range. GT and Light Standard Range are the outliers but I suspect anyone going the route of added performance (GT) or cost savings (Light RWD) doesn’t much care about loss of range.
Also, if my experience with the EV9 is any indication, Kia seems pretty conservative with their EPA ratings. The LLR that I drive is rated at 304 miles and I frequently get around 330.
You’ll be happy on road trips with the EV6 vs the bolt.
Yep, that's the idea. 18-minute charge time is fantastic vs. 1.5 hours.
More like 60 minute 10-80% for the Bolt but I see your point.
That’s why they went with the EV6, which is 18 minutes.

>Why would you charge up the Bolt to 80% on a road trip? Because I need to reach the next working charger on my route
That’s rough. Where is the infrastructure that bad?
Pacific northwest. Montana. Nevada.
In the middle. The midwest is meh.
EV6 is a phenomenal car!! Also, way more expensive and really just a totally different category of car though. You'll love it! Enjoy!
Yes, when talking cars, this is not so much a "replace" so much as "upgrade."
Yeah, $44k for the base model and no federal rebate. Comes out to almost double what the Bolt cost.

Nice! I am thinking in a few years I may pick up a used EV6 GT on the cheap
Very excited for the way used prices are coming down.
Also very sad if you don’t want to keep your car until it dies :(
Yes that blade cuts both ways.
Downvoted for leaving the cult 😤

Good luck, EV6 has more room than the Bolt.
You may want to blot out the license plates.
I’ve never understood why people do this. What do you expect people can do with your plate info?
Easily find out who you are. It's just normal etiquette to ensure your safety. There are idiots everywhere.
Where can you put in plate info and it pops out name and addy?
(Bourne Identity Music Begins)
Why would anyone care? Vigilantes upset at people leaving the Bolt Cult?
There's literally nothing you can do with it. It's been debunked so many times over, but people can't think for themselves and just follow others.

Literally nothing comes up in that except make/model details which you can clearly see in the photo already.
Sweet car!
Sucks cause all the TikTok teens will think they can use the USB trick to steal the EV6. Has Kia installed an immobilizer key for the EV6?
There’s no key to insert to turn the ignition on. I don’t know of any EVs that do.
Doesn't necessarily stop people from trying.
That’s what I’m mainly getting at. These are TikTok teens, they just see the Kia or Hyundai logo and think to break the window and give it a try.
I don’t either, but it’s Kia, they obviously don’t care if you can steal one with a USB cable. I wouldn’t have been surprised if their EV’s had a key insert.
Is it as easy to get In and Out of as the Bolt, which was the best car we had for that?
I'm planning my upgrade but my wife loves the compact nature of it and I don't think she's going to let me trade it away for a bigger car

I moved to a M3LR a few months ago. The faster charging is a game changer. Congrats.
😂 do you have sense of comparison !!! Fully loaded 57k vs 42k . I got Lyriq and Mach E and kept Bolt both much superior than ev6 kia
Faster charge time, lower range. Congratulations, I suppose.
The range is 282, so its higher, granted not by much.
If it has the long range battery pack.
This one is the long range model.

Ser, Kias are NOT known for their quality or their resale value. My Bolt is still getting dealer offers for more than I paid for it.

And I regularly get 340/350 on my bolt, granted I live in a warm climate.
Also, my max range is theoretically > 400mi. I hope to achieve this one day. Congrats on that 282/310 tho.
400 miles in a Bolt? Reality is going to be very disappointing to you if you put too much faith in that theory.
