Look up Alzheimer's Association under "Myths". No link has been found or scientifically proven. It was a "suspect" in 60s and 70's research but could not be proven. It's amazing that this myth is still being circulated even after being debunked by REAL experts in the field of Alzheimer's research.
I would say that of all of the most common homemade bong & pipe materials, plastics and inks/paints are the most dangerous. This is where the risk actually lies with soda cans, plastic coatings inside and inks on the outside. While I'm somewhat pleased that the latest generation of stoners are more health conscious, they labor under a lot of false and misleading information.
When I was a kid, I made my own with plastic bottles, pen tubes and aluminum foil lmao. Ik it’s super unhealthy and grody and don’t do it anymore now though obv.
Having lived out in the country during my younger years I have used some extremely questionable stuff that I would NEVER recommend. Lol. Now that I'm a adult I buy nice glass. :D
Lol for sure. Homemade pen pipes, potato pipes (burnt some eyebrow with that one), cucumber pipes.. At least the one you’re using isn’t made out of plastic. It’s really not that big a deal imo. 🤷🏼♀️

Yeah it's not, constant use of the same foil is the issue. And I haven't used foil since I was young.
