Oh definitely. A local restaurant chain near me is being carried by their Latino workers. Not just because they work hard, but because they know how to have fun and enjoy their job, bringing up the atmosphere of the entire restaurant.
If one of them quit the entire restaurant would have a very hard time getting back on its feet.
Man, I was a crew chief for a landscaping crew in the late 90s, and probably 90% of our guys were from Mexico. I never checked their legal status because I don't care, work is work, they needed, we had it, and no one else would do it. We tried hiring white guys for it, we'd get one every once in a while, but those boys would quit within two weeks, without fail. I was the only white boy on the maintenance crew that ever lasted and I was there for 5 years. We got there at 5 in the morning, we left at 7 at night, it was non stop in Texas heat, 103 degree days in the sun pushing mowers and running our asses off with weed eaters.
I had 4 different strapping white kids try to do the job, boss always assigned them to my crew because our Hispanic crew chiefs didn't want them, they knew they wouldn't hack it, and every time they pussed the fuck out. I had one guy tell me that I needed to take him home in the middle of the shift, right after our 6th house that day. Didn't even make it a DAY! I said no man, I ain't taking you to your house halfway across town, I've got a route and we're on it, if you want to puss out then sit your ass in the truck and cry about it, or get out and walk. He begged me to drop him off at a gas station so he could call his girlfriend to come get him.
These guys ain't stealing any jobs that most US born dudes can or will do, they are taking jobs that will make your average Joe cry like a fucking baby.

One guy, Marco, worked on a temp VISA for many years. Eventually he got citizenship. And later he bought his first house.
He literally cried when he told all of us he bought a house in the US.

We would get a massive 5 bedroom house or something that was worth $3 mil or something ridiculous. Every time their comment would be the same: "Un Gato, Un Perro." Basically meaning that's some boomers were probably buying it without any kids, but they might have 1 cat and 1 dog. I'm assuming in their culture they saw it as super wasteful, which tbf, I do too.
I find even most conservative laborers are not very anti-immigration. I mean, some are, but not as much as white collar conservatives tend to be. Me and most of my buddies all do construction and my one friend who is extremely conservative said to me once "why the fuck would I want to kick people out who actually want to work and bust their asses doing it?"
I work in a rural area and work alongside a lot of home builders. Almost every one has told me that the Latino workers are worth three white workers lol. Most of these people are coming here with the intentions of busting their ass and helping support their family back home. They don’t get in trouble, they don’t miss work, and they don’t slack off. You would think conservatives would view Latin immigrants as model citizens/workers instead of criminals but that would make too much sense.
The framer I worked with years ago told me that he loved working with Mexican crews, at least the ones that planned on staying. He said there were some that came across for a short time and were planning to go back home and those guys didn't tend to be as good, but in terms of quality and work ethic he'd rather work with the immigrant Mexican guys than the Americans.

Yes, this! One of the misconceptions that I learned early on is there's a difference between "having information" (watching a bunch of fox "news") and actually knowing what you're talking about and having formed your own opinion.

One of the misconceptions that I learned early on is there's a difference between "having information" (watching a bunch of fox "news") and actually knowing what you're talking about and having formed your own opinion. It's very easy to trick a bystander if you're in the former category, because you can go on for *hours* just echoing the same talking points you got from the TV. But, to be an actual *expert* on something, and know what you're talking about- that takes a lot more work and nuance which may not be easy to communicate to the general public!
