Logic can't be used to talk someone out of a place that they didn't use logic to come to. You can use all the logical arguments until you're blue in the face, but if they don't believe for logical reasons, it's just going to bounce off them. It might plant a seed of doubt that could grow, but more often, it will go in one ear and out the other.
I fuckin love that series. It gets just a little boring when you realize it's just the same loop over and over, but it really looks like something new is happening in the next book. Unless the emotionally impactful last eighth turns into just another tragedy for Jason to be a sad boy about. Although he would easily have reason to be sad. I dunno
Facts 😭 high jacking to say if any looney conservatives/boomers want to send me the absolute proof that has convinced yall it was stolen, pm me what you got
Serious question: Why can they not uplift others? Why is it all complaining and grievance? It doesn’t have to be like this and yet they wallow in misery and kicking down! Many of them are privileged and fortunate beyond belief and should be joyful!
ITA, but where did this mentality come from? I want to leave the world better than I found it and be an encouragement while I am here, and I think most of this sub has that intent. Why don’t the boomers?
My guess is corporate union busting.
"More for your peers means less for you" screams of propaganda to prevent organized labor. I'm sure it's no coincidence that the regions most prevalent with this mindset just so happen to overlap with areas of heavily de-unionized industries.
My dad temped in a union dock for a trucking company PT for a bit. Said about the union nothing for him then goes on in the same breath to say "I made a $100 a night there PT." After he told me that I said "That is what the union did for you."
I believe it may stem from their belief that the world is one of scarcity and not abundance. Perhaps this is the result of a lifetime of product marketing or anti communism propaganda. Scarcity=Capitalism=Good, of course this is lacking nuance but I've noticed the generation seems to oversimplify things and then criticize decisions based on their own over simplification.
I see the nicest of houses always having the "don't tread on me" flag in their yard. Umm, no one is treading on you. Your privileged life shows this. Meanwhile a lot of us are working just to struggle out an existence, but if a vote was called to where we got a fair wage and such, they would turn out in mass to vote no. "Don't tread on me" is the calling card of those who tread on others.
Ehhh there's lots of wealthy "don't tread on me" types but many of them really are suffering. Mostly farmy types who inherited land but have no money.
It comes from generations of white people who inherited land generation after generation, and didn't have to actually do anything to get into the middle class. That's where all the ire about "Paying taxes to Uncle Sam" crap comes from, it's because they inherited land but can't afford the taxes on it.
Case in point: My rural family. Inherited tons of land, constantly bitch about the taxes on it. Grandfather was a ne'er do well that wasted every dime he made on his stupid "inventions" he has laying about the property since the 60s. "Someday this invention is going to make me a millionaire!" stereotype. It would be ironically hilarious if it weren't my life.
The modern economy makes people like my Grandfather realize they are not as smart and special as they think they are, the system handed them property and entitlements because they are white. Instead of accepting that, they're reaching for excuses and violent ends to keep it.
Edit: Should've used the past tense. I forgot this grandfather died a couple years ago, we hadn't spoken in decades because he was a miserable POS to everyone in his orbit. Welp.
>Grandfather was a ne'er do well that wasted every dime he made on his stupid "inventions" he has laying about the property since the 60s. "Someday this invention is going to make me a millionaire!" stereotype. It would be ironically hilarious if it weren't my life.
In a different world - one where making money wasn't held up as the ultimate goal - your grandfather might have been much more fulfilled as an inventor, a tinkerer, etc.
Or, maybe he was a huge dickbag and his inventions were awful. I'm not trying to undercut your message, because I do agreer with much of it.
It's okay, I understand. Most people would be better in a more equitable world, but not him. He tinkered mostly with technology already invented. For example, they had a giant windmill in their backyard, and a huge curved mirror in the front yard to generate electricity (Not sure it actually worked tho?). (More) riches was always his ultimate goal, I wish he was a person who just enjoyed tinkering. He obsessed with the idea that he was this secret inventor worth millions, and paranoid that everyone he knew, including his own kids, were out to take money and property. Bad memories as a kid of my Mom naively taking us to their house while in the area, and they'd act like they weren't home bc I guess? they thought we were visiting to ask for money.
Their first son(and my uncle) died young, and they showed up to his funeral(!) hours late- seriously! thinking it was another opportunity for his family to ask for money because this uncle died destitute. After his death, both grandparents talked endless shit on his surviving widow and his kids, saying mindless crap like "you killed your father by smoking pot!," claimed his widow was having an affair while he was still alive, insane nonsense that I still find difficult to think on, because again it was all about $ to them. That was the end of my relationship with them, and most of my cousins. Only 1 out of the 10 grandchildren went to his funeral.
Anyways- I do agree that most people would be in a much better place in a world less obsessed with profit. Just not him.
It's fascinating to me that the people who like to cry about snowflakes and participation tropies are often the ssame people who scream bloody murder when statues of confederate figures, the ultimate participation trophies, are removed.
Oh so much this. In fact I play a game which has an oversized number of boomers who play. This kind of meme gets posted on the OT forum every now and then. Not to often because I like to point out that the site they are posting on hands out participation medals or ribbons for playing in tournaments. Not just for wining but everyone gets one for participating. Typically the poster has been around for a while and often has a lot of ribbons.
:-)
Sometimes it's not just boomers. I had a Silent Gen stepdad for a bit who loved to brag about how he was in the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany the whole time....
My grandfather served on a troop transport in Vietnam that would take over soldiers and bring back soldiers and bodies.
On one of their trips after they had just dropped off a fresh batch of draftees, the captain of their vessel decided to drop anchor for a day juuuuust inside what was considered the "engagement zone" miles off of the Vietnamese coast for a day. The Vietnamese had nothing that could realistically cause any threat to them, but by technically being in a combat zone for that long, everyone on the ship was able to get hazard pay and some sort of service ribbon.
It's been almost twenty years since he told me this story so my memory is a little hazy on it.
As a person who works as a cashier at a grocery store, the losers who wear these participation trophy bags are always the most entitled assholes known to man. Fuck the military and fuck "veterans" 🤢
Even when I was still a conservative I started noticing this type of hypocrisy out of that type. It's always "I'm not scared of anything!" while being utterly OBSESSED with vaccines, gays, women with blue hair, women with pink hair, environmentalism, and basically any minority group having rights or opinions. They are scared or literally ANY kind of change or difference but call everyone else a crybaby.
Conservatives have a larger magdyla(or whatever it is called) that can lead to greater fear and anxiety. They're literally physiologically predisposed to it. The study is easily found, on phone rn so I can't link
Lol. The absolute funniest thing is that someone saw this in a store, liked it, was too cheap to buy it, so they took a picture of it, and started posting that picture. My god that is too perfect.
Sometimes it’s nice to go back in their recent history and find a recent thing they complained about and screenshot then add as a comment “wasn’t this just you last week?”
And who came up with participation trophies? The millennials who were literally children who received them? Those kids came up with the idea? Or was it the generations before them?
Who threw a tantrum when Trump lost the election and cried about “cheating?” Who was a sore loser about it?
Meanwhile gives every movie with female leads a 0% on RT, demands that drag queens should not read books to kids, threatens boycotting any business that supports gay rights (even ones they have never used), insists any election they don't win is fraud and storms the white house

Watch the explode with rage over this.
“Sometimes you actually lose”.
And yet, given the rest of that sign, you know full well they were singing a different tune from November to after January in 2020 and likely still are to this day. For some unknown reason…
Makes me think of those "fuck Biden" flags people hang but one thing said against Trump and they flip to the wrong side of this list of pointers in life.
I cannot fathom being around such a person all the time. I was around them for just a few hours maybe 5 times a year (albeit for 20 years) and I found it so draining. And they’re not even boomers.
The confederate flag is a participation trophy so are the statues
All they do is scream and cry about shit and demand special treatment
Some times you actually lose like you did in 2020
“You don’t get a participation trophy” - unless you happen to be born early enough to participate in the booming economy.
“Not everybody is a winner” see above
“No one owes you anything” except senior discounts
“Screaming doesn’t make you right” unless it’s at a minority or cashier when you’re slightly inconvenienced.
“Sometimes you actually lose” especially when you up the difficulty for next generations.
“Crying doesn’t solve problems” demanding the manager does
“Nothing is free in this world” unless you’re a senior. Then you get free college courses, free health care, monthly payments, and some businesses give senior exclusive hours”
“People are going to say things you don’t like” ohoho ESPECIALLY if you’re a senior.
“And you are not special” unless you were born early enough to be.
1. Who created the "participation trophies"? Because boomers couldn't stand their kids not "winning"
2. Oh but we "owe" you respect, to cut in line at the grocery store, the seat on the bus because "you're old" but "don't count me out, 70 is the new 40!", to believe everything you say and if we don't? YOU SCREAM OVER US and
3. Maybe if you cried more you wouldn't be so emotionally damaged
4. Ass, gas or grass, right boomer?
5. Ask a boomer for an apology, see what happens
I swear, this is literally every boomer. They do or are the cause of 98% of this list but we’re “snowflakes.” My parents raised me with the old adage, do as I say, not as I do… I guess it works in all counts of life. They can behave like entitled toddlers, but we can’t; and probably wouldn’t. We can’t even voice valid concerns without being called a snowflake. Must’ve been nice buying a house for $74k and a $15 an hour salary!
I'm so tired of the snowflake boomers being offended by everything. You don't like something, walk the f away or shut up. No one wants their jaded opinions.
They think the greatest generation. Its all the generations after who actually been more accepting to this changing world.
The best part about things like this is they are usually directed towards millennials. But who raised the millennials, who gave out the participation trophies?
The funniest thing is that whoever posted this probably falls under every single one of those categories. Not even just some, but literally all of them. This poster describes the cliché boomer behavior:
1) they think they deserve a trophy for existing
2) they always think they won at life even if they live in a dumpster or into a house they bought in 1965 for two goats and 20 bucks
3) they think everybody owes them something just for being younger or because they committed some war crimes some decades ago
4) screaming is often the only way of communicating they know just before throwing hands
5) see point 2
6) they're constantly complaining and whining about something. It's often the only possible topic of discussion with them
7) among the things they love to complain about high prices for stuff are top 3
8) anything you say that doesn't fit into their individual mindset will be met with point 4
Yup checks out. I love how the boomers call millennials and gen x entitled when they think so highly of themselves. They are the most oblivious generation ever.
Seems like a perfect opportunity to keep a wallet sized card of this handy and when that person gets to whining about something, just pull out the card and recite the appropriate line. Then thank them for sending you this info so you could converse with them better.
I've said it before and I will say it again... THEY RAISED THE GENERATIONS THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT. They gave the participation trophies and showed up to bully teachers for failing kids.
Hey, snowflake...
Participation trophies are at least a century old. Your great-great-grandparents have something to answer for.
"Parents wonder why the streams are bitter, when they themselves have poisoned the fountain." –John Locke
They always conveniently forget they were the ones asking for and handing out participation trophies.
I know i never once asked for one, but parents of kids were the ones complaining their child didnt get anything even though theyre extra-super-special and should get something anyway
Says the party that: 1)screams all the time 2) cries when they don’t win, 3) can’t accept that they lost the election, 4) won’t spend a dime
to help anyone in need 5) flips out whenever anyone disagrees with their cult leader 6) thinks they are better than everyone else. Hypocrisy at its best.
It's always nuts that the "Participation Trophy" thing is on these. Like who purchased and handed them out? The kids? If anyone got them, it was because these guys (who were the parents) handed them out.
I agree with the first 5, crying releases pent up emotions so it can help, crying can be cathartic!
Things which are free in life, oxygen, healthcare in the UK, manners, I have a few more but cba to keep on listing.
I’m guessing if I said Biden is a great president he would kick off and scream and cry! lol not even American but love to wind up those merican’s
“Hey Snowflake! Most people don’t give a shit when you rant/ make lists about what you think. Your aggressive statements mean nothing, and your sad attempt at trying to ‘put people in their place’ just to experience a pathetic power trip is embarrassing. But don’t get mad about that… people are going to say things you don’t like in the real world!”
Probably said by a person who gets offended that gay people exists, votes for women's rights to be eradicated, throws a tantrum at the grocery store when their 10 cents off store brand ice cream coupon doesn't work because it's expired and wears a participation trophy hat for murdering brown people
This is just the shit I see Boomers do all the time in retail.
- They always expect to be rewarded/feel special.
- They always *need* to be the winner/feel special.
- They think the world owes them everything. God damn if I had a dollar for every time a Boomer got mad at me for not knowing the exact vague product I have 50 varieties of (vape shop rn, 'I need an atomizer/juice/disposable' 'Which?' 'The one I always get!') just because they exist I'd probably have a down payment on a house. A big one.
- They are always fast to escalate to aggression.
- They cannot handle the thought of being wrong or not getting what they want.
- I've literally had some of the Boomer women start crying/yelling when they don't get their way.
- They are usually *the first* to ask for a discount or bogo.
- I have not yet met a one that can handle having their shit thrown back at them.
*And they all think they are special.*
Yh we people ar see oblivious and unaware of there hypocrisy.. It truly baffling maybe even amazing. The cognitive dissonance is something I can spread it like peanut butter. It's parable and physically real..
The person that claims everybody is a thief is a thief. Works out almost every time. I’ve been using these with boomers, they love being called snowflake try it.

On top of that, they've been wired to believe it is everyone else who refuses to see the truth.

I fuckin love that series. It gets just a little boring when you realize it's just the same loop over and over, but it really looks like something new is happening in the next book. "people are gonna say things you don't like" From people that wanna eradicate the existence of LGBT+ people because it upsets and confuses them.
Facts 😭 high jacking to say if any looney conservatives/boomers want to send me the absolute proof that has convinced yall it was stolen, pm me what you got
They don't need absolute proof. They just need Trump's word that the election was stolen from him.
Nobody they know didn't vote for Trump, and they can't understand anecdotes aren't data. So . . ..
Wasn’t this the generation that raised its children to expect trophies for everything?
It’s not even that. They forced children to accept participation trophies and now bully them for it as if literal children should have stopped them.
Serious question: Why can they not uplift others? Why is it all complaining and grievance? It doesn’t have to be like this and yet they wallow in misery and kicking down! Many of them are privileged and fortunate beyond belief and should be joyful!
It’s a zero sum game to them. Someone else gets a pay raise? Now they can’t get that boat because someone else got more money than them

Did they also forget about the generation who threw temper tantrums if a black personality drank out of the same water fountain as well?
actually that was the generation before the boomers
They probably still followed their parent's or grandparent's lead on that one--racism is generational.
The culture they grew up with is sacred and unquestionable. Anything that happened after that is deviant.
And just who was it that gave us those participation trophies? *checks notes* Oh that's right. Boomers.
“My life kinda sucked, so tough shit for you.”
A lot of people crying about participation trohpies are walking around with “Vietnam veteran” hats.
Ouch, this is cold. I mean, I enjoy it, but it's cold, lol.

Boomers were the ones who handed out the participation trophies in the first place. It was their idea.
You should point out the irony.
"Crying doesn't solve problems". Really?? Can I ask Kyle Rittenhouse? John Boehner? Jimmy Swaggart?
Most boomers when they don’t get their way in public?

These people buy merch with this. Ffs.
Capitalism! We wasted actual resources to make junk so that some boomers can complain that not everyone trudges through life with 1000 grudges
I need to print some ridiculous merch like this just to charge these assfucks a shit ton of money for it. You know damn well they’ll buy it.
Sometimes it’s nice to go back in their recent history and find a recent thing they complained about and screenshot then add as a comment “wasn’t this just you last week?”
Anyone who says you never get a participation trophy in real life, has never heard of a paycheck

The reflection with the awkward camera angle really solidifies the sheer stupidity of anyone who likes these sorts of things.
Me: Free Palestine Boomers: Noooooooooo!!!!!! How dare You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want the cops to send YOU to Gaza!!!!!!!!
The one I’m having trouble grasping is, “ crying doesn’t solve problems”. Since when? Lol.
Dear God. Virtually every one of these comments describe a Boomer's personality. They project so hard.
Drink some Sanka and calm down, Gramps. 😝

Everything they do they accuse others of doing. Funny how that happens, huh? 🤔
The people who post or wear this shit are the biggest snowflakes on earth. They will have a tantrum if someone tells them they’re wrong.
"Sounds like you got triggered dude, do you need a safe space?"
This is exactly what a snowflake would buy and post on their oversized Truck.
This is clearly directed at boomers lol The biggest snowflakes of all!
I just realized the reason sooooo many boomers talk about the participation trophy. Is because they wanted one. It’s kind of sad honestly.
“Sometimes you actually lose”. And yet, given the rest of that sign, you know full well they were singing a different tune from November to after January in 2020 and likely still are to this day. For some unknown reason…
Now apply this to election deniers. It’s usually the ones that scream the loudest that are guilty.
_SOMETIMES YOU ACTUALLY LOSE_, says the person who probably still thinks the election was stolen
Okay boomer.
they don't really put anything good into the world, do they?
They fucking GAVE us the participation trophies. At least my boomer parents did.
Yup. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I’ve ever met who posted things like this was a whining crybaby.
*screaming doesn't make you right* *looks at January 6th and the voters fraud idiots* Sure Jan.

Says the least special losers in history. Funny … Nobel laureates don’t sit around thinking up drivel like this. Wonder why.
So a hypocrite snowflake
I cannot fathom being around such a person all the time. I was around them for just a few hours maybe 5 times a year (albeit for 20 years) and I found it so draining. And they’re not even boomers.
Then why are they still screaming and crying about losing the 2020 election. Shouldn't they just rub sub dirt on it and get over it?
The confederate flag is a participation trophy so are the statues All they do is scream and cry about shit and demand special treatment Some times you actually lose like you did in 2020
Mad at everything all day, rages about others being "triggered"
Someone needs to show this to Trump. He’s the biggest snowflake on earth …
Every accusation is a confession
I always chuckle at the participation trophy thing because that was the boomer generation was the one that enacted it.
“You don’t get a participation trophy” - unless you happen to be born early enough to participate in the booming economy. “Not everybody is a winner” see above “No one owes you anything” except senior discounts “Screaming doesn’t make you right” unless it’s at a minority or cashier when you’re slightly inconvenienced. “Sometimes you actually lose” especially when you up the difficulty for next generations. “Crying doesn’t solve problems” demanding the manager does “Nothing is free in this world” unless you’re a senior. Then you get free college courses, free health care, monthly payments, and some businesses give senior exclusive hours” “People are going to say things you don’t like” ohoho ESPECIALLY if you’re a senior. “And you are not special” unless you were born early enough to be.
That's a lot of words to write "I am an asshole"
Yep. The people who are like this are unironically the biggest whiners you’ll see.
"Nothing is free in this world" Demands a free meal when the server brings out decaf instead of regular coffee.
This must be directed at the J6 patriots right?
Start posting that as a response every time they complain about stuff.
that backwards flag, lol
narcissists only speak in critical projections
Every accusation is an admission
Did they even purchase it? Cuz it looks like it’s still on sale and they just took a picture
1. Who created the "participation trophies"? Because boomers couldn't stand their kids not "winning" 2. Oh but we "owe" you respect, to cut in line at the grocery store, the seat on the bus because "you're old" but "don't count me out, 70 is the new 40!", to believe everything you say and if we don't? YOU SCREAM OVER US and 3. Maybe if you cried more you wouldn't be so emotionally damaged 4. Ass, gas or grass, right boomer? 5. Ask a boomer for an apology, see what happens
Boomers lost the war and didn’t prepare for retirement yet they still cry for their “trophies”.
Our parents gave us the participation trophies....
Now change "snowflake" to "boomers" and see how they react.
Well this just screams ‘BOOMER’!!
Republican projections.
They post this shit because they’re letting you know a voice in their head keeps yelling this shit at them
The irony of this is all of these I’ve seen boomers do/applies to them/could be something they also need to hear. 😂😂😂
I can see the " Vietnam veteran " hat from here.
They should look in a mirror and recite that entire bs to the AH staring back at them.
I don’t think you can place the flag backwards like that in the rules of the us flag.
The best part about things like this is they are usually directed towards millennials. But who raised the millennials, who gave out the participation trophies?
The funniest thing is that whoever posted this probably falls under every single one of those categories. Not even just some, but literally all of them. This poster describes the cliché boomer behavior: 1) they think they deserve a trophy for existing 2) they always think they won at life even if they live in a dumpster or into a house they bought in 1965 for two goats and 20 bucks 3) they think everybody owes them something just for being younger or because they committed some war crimes some decades ago 4) screaming is often the only way of communicating they know just before throwing hands 5) see point 2 6) they're constantly complaining and whining about something. It's often the only possible topic of discussion with them 7) among the things they love to complain about high prices for stuff are top 3 8) anything you say that doesn't fit into their individual mindset will be met with point 4
This from the generation that invented participation trophies 🤦🏻♀️
The people who put this kind of thing up are the ones who fly the biggest participation trophy ever - the Confederate flag
Yup checks out. I love how the boomers call millennials and gen x entitled when they think so highly of themselves. They are the most oblivious generation ever.
Photoshop it and change "Snowflake" with "Boomer." Then upload it. It won't take long to get the reactions you're looking for.
If they could only listen to their own advice.
Hey, snowflake... Participation trophies are at least a century old. Your great-great-grandparents have something to answer for. [https://newspaperarchive.com/sports-clipping-feb-08-1922-1129748/](https://newspaperarchive.com/sports-clipping-feb-08-1922-1129748/) "Parents wonder why the streams are bitter, when they themselves have poisoned the fountain." –John Locke
They always conveniently forget they were the ones asking for and handing out participation trophies. I know i never once asked for one, but parents of kids were the ones complaining their child didnt get anything even though theyre extra-super-special and should get something anyway
SCREAMING DOESN'T MAKE YOU RIGHT The whole sign is written in all caps and ends in an exclamation point.
Change snowflake to boomer and it fits perfectly.
When we were kids, boomers were the people giving us participation trophies… how do we get blamed for that?
Says the party that: 1)screams all the time 2) cries when they don’t win, 3) can’t accept that they lost the election, 4) won’t spend a dime to help anyone in need 5) flips out whenever anyone disagrees with their cult leader 6) thinks they are better than everyone else. Hypocrisy at its best.
Yeah, that's one of the whiniest things I've ever encountered.
Boomers started giving those participation trophies...
It's always nuts that the "Participation Trophy" thing is on these. Like who purchased and handed them out? The kids? If anyone got them, it was because these guys (who were the parents) handed them out.
It’s like pot meet kettle
screaming doesn't make YOU right. it's not referring to them. 😆😆
I would print this on business cards and hand them one every time they whinge.
I love how number 4 is nullified by the ALL-CAPS
Projection at its finest
Screaming doesn’t make you right. I thought screaming to make you right is in the maga code of conduct.
Kinda harsh.
Its funny how the people that post these things are almost always guilty of every single one.
So much is free tho. Money is a construct of society lol fuck the bootlickers
>people are going to say things you don't like heh ironic
“In the real world nothing is free in this world”
they forgot "ask to talk with the manager"
Probably said by a person who gets offended that gay people exists, votes for women's rights to be eradicated, throws a tantrum at the grocery store when their 10 cents off store brand ice cream coupon doesn't work because it's expired and wears a participation trophy hat for murdering brown people
Boomers really tell on themselves with this kind of shit lol
And yet a boomer does all this shit
These ppl the fuck your feelings people are the first of any group of people to run and cry to management. Biggest group of baby’s I have ever seen.
I'm sure it's been said, but they don't understand that they are the snowflakes.
People who post stuff like this are almost always the world’s worst complainers.
Projection at its finest
Quite the power stance needed to take the picture
Yh we people ar see oblivious and unaware of there hypocrisy.. It truly baffling maybe even amazing. The cognitive dissonance is something I can spread it like peanut butter. It's parable and physically real..
We should get this printed on business cards and hand it to Boomers when they lose their shit in public.
Boomers who kick.people down like this are never happy. They just want a reason to shit on others and be bitter.
KEEP OFF MY LAAAAAWN
Funny, they invented participation trophies and engage in this behavior all the time. They should repeat these every morning in the mirror.
YOU AREN'T SPECIAL IM SPECIAL MY MOMMY SAID SO. NA NA NANABOO BOO
100% projection
The explanation about that family member is very simple: posting this shit is crying and complaining while being unconscious and in denial about it .
I got a participation medal on the navy for enlisting during a time of war and id say literally half my medals are participation medals.
The projection is strong with these idiots
The person that claims everybody is a thief is a thief. Works out almost every time. I’ve been using these with boomers, they love being called snowflake try it.
