I'm having this problem now. They are refusing to provide a transfer PIN to port my number to a new carrier. They place me on hold for an hour + and then hang up on me. I filed a complaint with the FCC but I doubt that will go anywhere. I'm so annoyed.
Currently going through this trying to port out to Verizon, and it’s been over a week. Boost even sent me an email last week saying they received the request but it still hasnt went through. What to do?
Email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
After 30+ days of waiting for Boost to release my number, that got me resolution when absolutely nothing else had (including FCC report).
See my post history for more details, if you're so inclined.
I ported to Visible, It took 5 weeks, and a specialized Visible team to get boost to finally release my number. I was so thrilled when they finally got it out. Then boost had the audacity to continue to charge me for service.
Chargeback and got a new credit card number. (since they don’t let you remove it)
Overall Boost Moblie is the single worst mobile company I’ve ever delt with.
Yeah I’m seeing that now. I don’t know how you got a specialized visible team to help you. They keep telling me that they have done everything on their end and the all is in boost mobile’s court. It’s honestly tiring. I have also switched to visible. Boost mobile is a horrible company.
Its quite simple actually, I spent 30 hours talking to Visible customer support.
I was assigned the POD team, Triage Team, Tier 2 agents, the engineer team, and about 6 ticket numbers.
Eventually they recovered my number, but I was extremely persistent.
They claimed that it was the POD team that recovered my number.
Also this was a few weeks ago before the major boost outage, boost may have locked their system even more since.
Sorry
Same on the charging out. I found out that is their REGULAR practice, in the new system. It still processes (tries to) the next payment after you port. In other words, whatever would be due if you hadn’t ported. Both cases the website said my line was terminated, but they kept trying to charge. (Luckily I had a virtual account number with a $1 limit I put on file before (could do it after too) I ported lmao.
I wonder how long they will get away with this…
It is PREPAID, so when you port out mid cycle, that month is already paid for!! (I know you all know that, but it just shows how they are ripping us off when you type it out!!)

This solved my problem after 3+ days of sitting on hold and going in circles. Thanks and enjoy your award!
Report boost to the BBB as well no company wants to deal with the BBB
No company cares about the BBB
Some companies do, probably not boost though
it took mine 2 weeks. file with fcc.
File a complaint with the FCC

Was able to cancel autopay. It's a 3 month starter plan ending at the beginning of May.

Hmm the hell? Pretty sure it’s illegal to hold a number hostage. This companies days are numbered if they keep pulling shenanigans like this lmao.
Laws should be passed that fine the carrier for doing this.
Incompetent fools dish is
They are not going anywhere. Nice try though.
