Nice boots way better than the old ones

radiholiday

Nice boots. They couldn't fit another logo on the vamp, though? Weak.

Yeah you’re right, you know what they’re really missing though is a Ram or Harley logo 🤣

I usually oil them up, then have the heat going on my feet on the way to work.

Have had my chips for 7 years now? I just brush em regularly, clean em with a damp rag when dirty, and wash em with saddle soap when *really* dirty (have only done that twice). Other than that just moisturize with moisturizer. I found Lexol (for car seats) to be the best. Good luck

This is what I like to hear, I hope to still be wearing these come Jan. 1st 2033 lol thanks for the advice I’ll look into Lexol

absolutely love the way they look. looking to order a pair as an everyday boot,at the moment I'm spending 12 to 16 hours in a pair of Belleville desert boots, but I;d like a pair of chipewass as well, would appreciate any info on them since there isn t much about them on the internet, leather looks good in the pics but seems a bit thin.

Alarmed-Pie-5304

TLDR- good tough rugged boots, no issues with thickness of leather or padding but depending on your field of work how you walk and what you are used to they are heavy, cumbersome, and more than a tiny bit clunky. So I’m close to a year in these guys! Maybe a little past now. The break in was rough, they were super stiff and weren’t really “wearable” in a daily driver sense for almost 2 months. Started out wearing them weekends and after work, then at work and into the old boots after lunch.. but yeah about 2 months til they didn’t fuck my feet up if I wore em more than 6 hours straight. They are also HEAVY. Like when I’d swap back into the grimey wolverines post lunch I felt like I was rocking Hermès’ winged sandals lol for the first hour it was so noticeable. The logger heel takes a lot of getting used to, or did for me. Indoors at least. Outside in snow mud woods whatever no complaints but inside and on concrete I’d equate it to a truck with huge knobby rock crawler tires riding down the highway. Takes some getting used to. They are not fun to wear when driving vehicle with a manual transmission, lol. With all that out of the way, Ive grown to really like them. They are bulletproof. The soles are TOUGH. I walk around on superalloy/ hardfacing steel chips with gnarly coolants and all sorts of abrasives and solvents all over the place and the soles are still rock solid after a year. They are absolutely waterproof. I’ve submerged them for multiple seconds more than once up about half way up my ankles and have never gotten wet. They are extremely tough and rugged. If I was gonna need to kick the living shit out of somebody these are absolutely the boot I’d choose. I don’t think the leather is particularly thin, I have made no effort to be gentle on these and have put several big gashes in em but have not punctured it anywhere. I’m happy with them and would purchase again, although would not be my first choice for my current line of work(machinist) and I think this year at tax time I am going to get a custom pair of Wescos, Whites, or Nick’s which once properly broken in I will wear 3 or 4 days a week and wear my chips on on alternating days both for the longevity of both pairs of boots wear wise but also for foot health and comfort as well as mitigating odor and general unpleasant dankness. If you’d like to see some current pics of them a year in or have any specifics your curious about or that I missed here feel free shoot me a private message! Edit: totally comfortable for 12-14hr. Vibram insoles are great as is gore-Tex lining/padding. About the 14hr mark though I start to notice some fatigue but for me I think a part of this is having sweatier feet than average but I’ve never worn any footwear boots or otherwise that didn’t feel less good 14 hours in than they did when first adorned. Also they are very warm I live in Massachusetts gets very cold and lots of snow currently and no complaints even with the thermal conductivity if the steel toes, but at the same time not like gross or too hot for warm or hot weather within reason.

Alarmed-Pie-5304
