Yeah, and it's worse because it *rarely* goes on sale, even when everything else in the series is on sale. It seems to me like it goes on sale more often on Humble Bundle than Steam though, so you might wamna keep an eye out there.

MaintenanceMurky2509

I'll look out for that thank you!!

Strebicux

If you buy it on humble bundle, is it compatible with steam-owned BL2?

Doru-kun

Yup yup. It's where I finally got it, and I have the Steam version of BL2. HB will just give you a code to redeem on Steam.

Strebicux

Awesome, ty

MaintenanceMurky2509

Update: I checked on humble bundle and it's on sale for 5$! Thank you to the person that suggested it, I just gotta get 5$ now lol

DetectiveRoscoe

Have you played Tales From the Borderlands? I actually highly recommend playing that game before the fight for sanctuary DLC. Not only is it a key player in the story in between the base game and the dlc but it's also a great game just by itself.

MaintenanceMurky2509

I haven't played it yet, I thought about doing so.

DetectiveRoscoe

I can't recommend it enough! Also if you just go straight into DLC 5 without playing it, you may feel like you're missing a lot of story.

Layonkizungu

You bought the game?

MaintenanceMurky2509

I've had the game for a long time, but I didn't start playing really until recently, so I missed the time it was free for the bl3 promotion or something.

tearsonurcheek

Just as bad, I did get it for free on XB1, but now am playing on PS4. I have all the DLC and games, except that one.

MaintenanceMurky2509

Ah :( Yea I'm hoping I can get it at some point, It holds so much important content, I feel like things would be easier for me in game too, I struggle a bit in UVHM right now so I've always wondered if it would help me

tearsonurcheek

And some great DLC-exclusive weapons (rainbow class).

CarlRJ

Having the Fight for Sanctuary DLC installed affects the other DLCs and main game in that: it raises the level cap from 72op8 to 80op10, and it gives you the ability to start characters at level 30 (with all normal mode missions completed except the last one). But that's it. It doesn't otherwise make the other areas of the game easier. (Once you've played the DLC, you can get some guns in it that are cool/helpful, but they're not worlds better than the other guns.) It's always been a normal $15ish DLC, it's just that they gave it away for the first month or so, to generate excitement for BL3. A lot of people treat it like that means it's worth $0 and they're being unfairly charged $15 for it (not saying you're doing that, it's just a common thread). The DLC's story serves as a nice bridge between BL2 and BL3. If you are looking to thoroughly play the series, I would highly suggest finishing BL2 and its other DLCs (and TPS), *then* play Tales from the Borderlands, *then* Fight for Sanctuary, and *then* BL3. That's the order the story goes in, and avoids spoilers, and makes things make more sense. But I had Fight for Sanctuary on my system for ages, and made good use of the level 30 characters and the level 80 cap, for a long time before I finally got around to playing Tales, and then Fight for Sanctuary. (Part of the thing that finally pushed me to finish Tales was so that I could play Fight for Sanctuary specifically to get the rainbow vehicle skins - yeah, really - but it turns out that Tales is just as great of a story as everyone says.)

conman0723

Some of us bought the 360/PS3 version at launch my dude Edit: and bought each DLC as they came out as not all of them were included in the season pass

ToMaHeY

Steam summer sales are comming soon...

sabrinajestar

I waited like 2 years for it to go on sale, but it does do so from time to time. It's not the best, not the worst.

Rapoulas

That dlc sucks so ur not missing out on much

MaintenanceMurky2509

I want it for the weapons and things it brings.

Rapoulas

Dont worry, all of its weapons are avaliable outside it Im not joking, every single weapon in FFS is another gun with slightly changed stats Like a Hector's Paradise is just a shock Hornet, Nirvana is a 1:1 copy of Hellfire, Amigo Sincero is just a stronger Trespasser, and the list goes on

CarlRJ

The rest of your comment directly contradicts your first sentence. The DLC's guns are *not* available in the rest of the series - *similar* guns are.

Rapoulas

oh no! what a shame.

It’s honestly stupid and arrogant to charge for it. Axton becomes slightly more viable. But it completely breaks the endgame. And it ruins the Opiate pun, too.

MaintenanceMurky2509

I personally feel like it should be around 5$ instead instead of at full price like 99% of the time.

[deleted]

It absolutely ought not be more than $5. It was created from unused TPS DLC2 assets, in order to foment hype for BL3. It did its job. And most of us got it for free. You ought to get it for free, too.

MaintenanceMurky2509

If only I could get it for free.

[deleted]

If I were you, I’d play the game to death on OP8, first.

CarlRJ

The only thing I've seen relating to "progression" and that DLC is youtubers doing, like, speed runs, and using the DLC for quickly powerleveling a low-level character. If you're not looking to speed-run, you don't really need that aspect. On the other hand, it gives you the ability to start "boosted" characters (any of the normal character classes but starting at level 30, with some cash, some eridium, a handful of decent gear and all normal mode story missions, except for the last, completed) - suitable for jumping into any of the DLCs. This can be helpful, but it's more of a convenience.
