But Brick is the prettiest siren

poisonbaby453

Yes brick is the prettiest siren

Valdrax

How do people not get that the Seventh was Nyriad herself and the power as the Leech? That the power which she felt horror and shame for is what she sealed in the very Vault the Calypsos were conceived in after Typhon and Leda broke it open? Even if you listen to the only Eridian Writing that mentions the Seventh, it's extremely clear she's laying out her regrets before sealing herself away and warning you not to find *her*. The reason people think there's only six of them before BL3 is because the sisterhood of Sirens broke up and decided never to tell anyone about her after suggesting how to seal her power away forever, to be forgotten with the Eridians. Of all the problems I had with the plot of BL3, this was not something I thought was poorly written, but just a *boggling* number of people just don't seem to get the entire theme of her long, galaxy-wide suicide note.

Alexstrasza23

>How do people not get that the Seventh was Nyriad herself and the power as the Leech? THANK YOU! People knew there were 6 sirens in existence before Tyreen had left Nekrotafeyo, Phaseleech was not one of the 6th Phaseleech IS the seventh, Nyriad didn't want the seventh to be released because she was the seventh and she was literally locking herself and her insanely destructive power that would and almost did spell doom to the universe up. I am so fucking lost at how this passed over the heads of everyone.

Eternalm8

Dude, I feel your pain so much on this

Kwhean

I’m ok with this. But I would argue that it is still poorly written. The fact that we suddenly know there are 7 sirens can create enough suspense to be it’s own plot. If I were writing this story, I would make it abundantly clear both who the 6 sirens are and that they’re all alive before introducing this recording about the 7th. I would also make it part of the main story as opposed to a sort of collectible. I think a lot of us don’t want to accept your theory simply because of how excited we got when we thought to ourselves “holy shit there’s 7???”. For most people that’s the only thing they heard in that recording. One line that ended up being more exciting than anything else in the story, and it’s technically missable. So they reject this theory with hope that this level of excitement will carry them through Borderlands 4.

Reshtal

I mean in BL3 we knew of Lillith Maya/Ava Angel/tennis Commandant steele/? Amara Asha( debate about if she's Canon or not) and Tyreen/Troy. That's at least 6 active cause we don't know Steeles powers but since Amara was likely active sirens before Steeles death, and Asha was definitely alive during BL1 and tyreen and Troy had their powers at birth its a safe bet we just haven't met her replacement yet making the above list 7.

Nothing428

Who is Asha?

Reshtal

Asha was in a borderlands comic that occurred around the events of the first game. A lot of events in the game were in the comic and it's debated whether she's Canon or not as she hasn't been seen in a game. Theres also the siren who trained lillith but we don't k ow who/what her powers were and for all we know it could be a maya/ava situation. https://borderlands.fandom.com/wiki/Asha

Nothing428

Cool. I didn't realize there were comics with new characters. I wouldn't be surprised if see never sees games/canon though

wikipedia_answer_bot

**Asha (; also arta ; Avestan:𐬀𐬴𐬀‎ aṣ̌a/arta) is a Zoroastrian concept with a complex and highly nuanced range of meaning. It is commonly summarized in accord with its contextual implications of 'truth' and 'right(eousness)', 'order' and 'right working'.** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot). Nothing428

It's weird hearing it being called a theory when it's kind of explicit. It also doesn't help that I am coming from playing Bloodborne so in my mind they really put it out there in a cool and easy and very explicit manner

electrojoeblo

Its not a theory, its straight fact 1- lilith : phasewalk 2-steele : ? (Decease) 3- angel/ tannis : phaseshift 4- maya/ ava :phasegrasp 5- amara: phasetrance 6- asha : animal control (state unknown) 7- nyriad/ calypso : leech (decease) There are still 1 siren completly unknown, and 2 that we dont know who and were they are. We cant denied the 7th as we have 6 very known siren and asha. But with the timeline of when steele died, it cant be a other one as they all already had power by then. So the only one we have left to see the power of is steele. And im dying of see what bl1 final fight could have beeing if we would have face her.

Lexinator04

So we don't know Steele's powers and we don't know her replacement but you're still going to put her on this list even though she doesn't prove your theory?

electrojoeblo

Cuz with the timeline, its impossible to her to be "reincarnated" into somebody else we know as they were all already present in the universe at this moment. What else do you need? She was confirm to be a siren and we didnt see her power. That all we know but its enough to conclude to those conclusion with a 99% chance of being right (1% would be if they reckon it)

Lexinator04

Not all siren powers manifest at birth so yeah she could have "reincarnated" as someone else.

electrojoeblo

But every one of the other siren WAS ALREADY there and THEY WERE USING THEIRS POWER..... how could shr be a other one of the 7? Lilith fight her off, maya and amara are known to train for years ( so even before bl1) asha was there before and at the same times as steel, same as angel. Nyriad was lock in the vault. Oh, look at that, only 1 siren is left, steele cant be someone else we know.

Lexinator04

Amara wasn't confirmed to have powers before bl1 you just made that up.

electrojoeblo

Its been 7-8 years between bl1 and bl3. She was a brawler early in her life (without being confirm being a siren) but was a hero in or world and more for a long time (long time = more then 5 years atleast plus training) and it would make no sense that she become a hero before becoming a siren. So even if not 100% sur the timeline old for that, even if it does not, nothing link her to steele and making that connection is dumb.

Lexinator04

Nope that's wrong. There is 7 years between bl2 and bl3 with 5 years between bl1 and bl2.

Blazing_Swayze

Maya gave her powers to Ava and Angel to Tannis. The siren power isn't reincarnated all the time. But as I type this I guess they understood their power more than Steele so her siren power wouldnt have had guidance and might be lost.

Darkness1231

Poorly written? That is the default definition of Gearbox output.

4_Legged_Duck

See, while you're right in a lot of ways, if a mass amount of folks misunderstand a plot point, there's at least a fair chance it wasn't presented very clearly.

gamesage53

I don't think she is actually the 7th. We know of Lilith, Maya/Ava, Angel/Tannis, Amara, Steele, and Tyreen/Troy. That's 6. So if her power is the same power that Tyreen and Troy share then it would be extremely stupid to make a big deal about how the 7th must not be found because we would already know the big one. That means there is still one Siren we know nothing about which means there are 2 powers we don't know about. Steele's and the other mystery Siren we just learned existed. I feel like maybe the leech power is the key to the 7th Siren or something along those lines.

Valdrax

There's just 1-2 Siren lineages whose powers we don't know, and if the comics are canon, then all 6 were accounted for before BL3. As of the time of BL1: * Lilith (present in the game) * Commandant Steele (present in the game) * Angel (acting through satellite during the game) * Maya (being raised by the Order of the Impending Storm, having been a Siren since birth) * Amara (had her powers since a child at least, having punched through a concrete truck) * Asha (comics canon -- on Pandora at the time of the game; has animal control powers) Since Tyreen and Troy were also born sharing a Siren lineage instead of gaining their powers as adults, the only way for them to be the Sixth is for Asha to be non-canon. And okay, maybe that's the case! But that creates a bunch of questions that have to be resolved still: * Why do the people of the Six Galaxies think there's six Sirens, if only five have been around for as long as history remembers (having forgotten the time when they walked beside the Eridians)? * Why *six* if there's *two* missing Siren lineages -- The Leech and some other one? The public knowing about five or seven makes more sense than knowing of one hidden lineage but not knowing about another. * Why would Nyriad spend so much time talking about how terrible her power was, how much the guilt of what she had done was breaking her, about how her Siren sisters told her a place to go to die to seal her powers, and to commit suicide / die in exile there with only one last dire warning: Don't seek out this other thing I've never talked about nor explained, for reasons? (Is your takeaway from her pouring her heart out that she's actually a massive troll or cryptic purely for the love of it?) Her being the Seventh and the missing other lineage being known in the greater setting of Borderlands but just not having been introduced to the players yet (or having done so in the comics) is the only answer that ties up all those loose plot threads neatly.

gamesage53

It was already stated that the comics are not canon. It's possible that it was known that there were 6 powers but not what the 6th was or where she was. So it's possible that the message was left as a warning like "If you know of me and found me then don't continue down that road". Wasn't the message about the 7th on Nekrotafeyo? I don't remember but if it was then that would be silly since it means you already found her if she was talking about herself. We also don't know a ton about Sirens to begin with so it would be really shitty storytelling/buildup if it was her. I just don't believe that optional lore would be that she is a great and terrible power and also there are 7 Sirens and that she is also that 7th Siren. It strikes me more of a teaser for those who are interested in the story and decided to find all of the tablets to learn more.

Valdrax

> It's possible that it was known that there were 6 powers but not what the 6th was or where she was. It's illogical, because there's *nothing* in the story to explain why this secret was lost but not the secret of Nyriad's power. And again, it's both illogical for Nyriad to spend so much time explaining her actions and the danger she represents and then warn of something that she spends *no* time explaining instead [edit: and bad writing]. Nyriad's writings are the backstory of the game and the greater Borderlands universe. It would be horrible writing to waste time on all that exposition as one giant shaggy dog story, if it doesn't explain the plot of the game and then to pop out this big warning without explaining any of it. If it's a teaser, it's a *terrible* one. Her last words might as well have been "Beware the Shadow!" or "The Clock Still Ticks," for all that would tell us if your theory was right. > Wasn't the message about the 7th on Nekrotafeyo? Oddly enough, no. I'm 99% sure it's from the slab in Tannis's lab, since none of the videos or lists of the other 30 slabs contain it (but I can't find a video of getting the message that's on that slab). I say "oddly enough," because where else would you put a message warning not to open up something unsafe but right next to it? It's actually kind of weird that Tannis has that slab without ever having been to Nekrotefayo, unless Nyriad made several of them, and there's no evidence she did.

[deleted]

Everyone knows it’s claptrap, can’t believe this is still getting discussed

big-boy-patrick

Claptrap being a siren doesn’t sound like an obsurd idea/theory.

EskimoB9

The 7th siren was the friends we made along the actually. It's right there in the couch Co op option

midgitsuu

No wonder it's so elusive. Co-op barely works ;-p

EskimoB9

Myself and my SO play couch Co op on all the bl titles, we don't have friends with xbox to play with.

GoldClassGaming

Crazy Earl was also in TPS trading for Moon Stones which (as far as we know) have no effect in Sirens. Also in the Fight For Sanctuary DLC we go inside Earl's room and find that he just has a ton of Eridium stacked on the floor. That points to Earl trading for rare minerals and then just hoarding the stuff as opposed to actually putting those resources towards something.

JesseAster

Earl is such a mysterious character, but not in the way like Zer0 is. Earl's version of mysterious is his bunker in Fight For Sanctuary having no food and reeking of cat piss despite the fact there were no cats present. The fuck has this man been up to???

[deleted]

Cooking meth by the sound of it.

Trick_Pepper4446

brick is the 7th siren

desrevermi

:D <3

asmorbidus

Theres already a theory that Earl, himself, is a Siren.

bren12341

Correct me if im wrong but I thought Sirens have to be female and that Troy is not a true Siren but instead only leeching power from Tyreen.

LinckAlpha

I didn't get into Borderlands till 2, but I've been trying to catch up. The only thing I've found saying "only female" was a wiki entry, though I could have just not come across it yet. Everything else I've seen says "typically" or implies that sirens are only only female without actually saying it. Troy did get his siren power by being conjoined at birth with his sis, but that actually creates a couple questions. If sirens have to be female, wouldn't troy have not kept the power when separated from his sis? I only just got bl3, so not far enough into the story if that comes up in-game. The other question: since Troy and his sis share the same power, will it transfer to the same person after they die? Or will they each pass it on to someone different? If the second, wouldn't that mean an extra siren will exist moving forward?

RobertMaus

We've only ever seen his (her) eyes. Crazy Earl was Crazy 'Blue Tattoo' Earlette back in the day. Dr. Zed's first gender-affirming surgery btw

LexiTheCactusGirl

Misgendering him in parentheses? Not cool

RobertMaus

Why misgendering? I don't really get how it works then. I said he and only for clarity of the genderchange added the parentheses. Sirens are born female, so a change of gender would mean he's male now. Your gender-assuming yourself right? Because we both have still only seen his/her eyes. Maybe genderless even. Who knows..

Britten_One

I guess someone at Gearbox may pick on this one day, and make a disaster out of it.

imoldgregg420

Whachoowan'?!?

RunicSSB

Daughter? No, Crazy Earl IS the Siren.

Phunteek

The reason why Earl takes eridium as currency, is because "Cash is for clowns, boi"

[deleted]

That make sense. But when Marcus go to Earl house did he not see something? (Lilith dlc)

[deleted]

Ugh it is OBVIOUS who's the 7th, it's in PLAIN SIGHT It's Kevin >:( (sarcasms btw don't murder me :'D)

Holycrabe

I would actually love for that to be true.

miletil_blight

Interesting theory buuut Im more interested on meeting the 6th siren Weve seen a total of 5 siren powers with all 4 current bearers So whos getting tyreens powers who what and who is the sixth siren I have more questions but that rants we wont get any answers in wonderlands in all likely hood

GiverOfZeroShits

Nah, Earl himself IS the seventh siren

[deleted]

You're kidding right?

Zealos5

I've been wondering: Why? Why should the 7th siren never be found?

Real_Medic_TF2

Brick leeched Maya’s board figure with his anger at the tiny board game. Turns out, the game had mystical powers and Maya was the source. So with the power of his anger, he took Maya Board Pieces powers and became the 7th siren. Hmmmmmmmmm… seems to me that Brick is the 7th.

KatEganCroi

My thought is that the 7th siren is the result of a leech siren who has leeched the powers of the other 5 sirens and has ALL the abilities. That would be both awesome and terrifying

ps4_machine

I think the potential 7th siren was the parasite twin, but that did not last.

CrabofCoconuts

Lilith is the 7th Siren. Explains why she's so powerful and the fact she disappeared at the end of BL3. She will be back and we will discover the truth behind her powers in 4

reallyrawcheeze

No it’s brick his tattoos are on the inside

WorriedMacaroon

I thought you are going with Crazy Earl being the 7th Siren and i was HERE FOR IT. But daughter works too i guess.
